Each to their own opinion. However, your critique reminds me of when you read a 1-star review of a game from a person who clearly doesn't get what he/she is talking about.

I am going to play it in my Teemo Sejuani deck. It helps the deck in two ways: drawing it own cards because the deck lacks draw, and it draws shrooms for  the enemy.

It’s interesting that they’re not doing balance changes, I guess they finally caught up with their changes and are going back to monthly updates. It’s kind of sad not have to changes to look forward two every other Wednesday, but the small patches have contained so few changes that I’d actually prefer bigger but more impactful balance updates. Labs also adds something new every two weeks.

They announced that they won't be doing any balance changes because the seasonal tournament is coming up, and they won't mess with tournament lineups.

Damn a lot of awesome features!

LoR can feel really annoying if you are playing against a roper, and it seems that Riot has taken the initial steps on fighting roping! And I love that you an track your collection.

My feelings are almost exactly in line with Flux's post above.  Hearthstone is 'expensive' but so are card games in general.  As far as digital CCGs it has set the standard.  MTGA is no less expensive. Not sure about LoR but it doesn't look that different to me

The difference between the economy in MTGA/HS and LoR is massive. It's not even close. And this is coming from a former HS whale

Mother of god... I am happy I am done with this game. Hearing about this new reward system and reading about people feeling scammed after pack openings (pack system is really a terrible system) makes me feel so happy about playing LoR. I put a few bucks in the game to start with to get my collection going and now I am self-sufficient and can craft the remaning cards and the upcoming the expansion if I wanted to - and keep in mind that I am not a hardcore grinder.

What a cash grab Hearthstone has become. 2x pre-orders (140 EUR) AND a battlepas (20 EUR) AND you will probably still miss 50 % of the expansion? My fucking god.

When you think of a real card game, if you shuffle a card into your deck, you normally don't shuffle your entire deck. You take the shuffled card and put it in a random spot in your deck. I think Blizzard implemented the shuffle effect incorrectly in the begining and didn't wanted to fix it when they introduced Polkelt to the game..

I'm not a Magic player and never wathed a Magic game before. I wonder if they shuffle their entire decks when they want to add a card to their decks?

    Very strange behaviour..

Yes, they do. Every time. Because that is how you shuffle. Unless the card states otherwise, e.g. add it the bottom of your library.

Polkelt is a perfectly fine card. You just have to build your deck around it. It funny how many players does not get the whole shuffle thing. I've read quite a lot of threads about it.

I think this patch speaks volumes for how terrible elementals were balanced compared to other tribes; Rag nerfed twice, Djinni nerfed and Gorr nerfed. This means that Nomi is the only high roll Elementals have in tier 5.

It is cool to see a mass buff to a lot of the other heroes. Rat King and Queen Togwaggle got big buffs; health buffs are always significant as it introduces a different kind of scaling.

All in all I think this patch might give other tribes a fighing chance! Good job Blizzard

Well, the powerlevel of these cards are off the charts but fair enough if you didn't consider that.

Multi-tiered legends is kind of a thing; one being Pyros (as mentioned by AngryShuckie) and then we have all the primes. With these in mind it is clear that you can go ways with them: shuffle the leveled version into your deck or add it to the hand. You chose the ladder which is perfectly fine. However, adding a perfectly strong card to your hand is very good (even if it is a deathrattle), so if you take that route you have to decrease the powerlevel of the cards... a lot.

If you choose the "shuffle the leveled version in to your deck" route, then the card can have a higher powerlevel - though you still have to nerf the cards a lot if we are comparing them to your original versions. Especielly Anduin.

Keep up the good work and I hope you get some sleep. :-)

There are currently a total of 3 boardwipes in the game that deal with soraka kench which are The Skies Descend The Ruination and Reckoning all of them are universal unit counters and deal with ANY units that do not have a form of recursion/spellshield on them so saying that they are "vulnerable" for them isn't saying anything.

The actual weakpoints that are Culling Strike and fearsome are quite polarising because there are many decks out there that do not care about culling strike at all, unless you play forstbite builds -> the old ashe noxus build and there are many decks that will crush your fearsome spiders with ease so...

My expectation is that we will end up with a meta where you get forced to play ashe noxus or the healing package. Yet i still wait for a cheesy Stargazer build to come up and annoy everyone...

I'd say it is quite signicant that the deck is weak to the Reckoning and generally weak to Nox/Freljord. That means that the deck has a hard counter, and Nox/Freljord can hold its own against a lot of other decks. Regarding Culling strike it could easily be a stable if Nox/Freljord with Ashe becomes a thing again.

I'd say Fearsome is in a pretty good spot this meta. I am not using the spider build but rather the Nightfall Diana/Nocturne build. There is a surprising amount of decks that use followers with 3 and 2 attac, and that means you can burst them like crazy. E.g. I played against a pirate deck and bursted them for 14 HP the turn I played Nocturne, I bursted Trundle/Asol for 18 or 20. And of course it is relevant to say a deck has a counter. If deck A is countered by deck B, and deck A becomes a meta deck, then deck B becomes a meta counter and can help you climb.

Soraka and Kench are vulnerable to board clears (e.g. Reckoning), and they have low attack, so e.g. fearsome can bypass them pretty easily.

Edit: just played nightfall aggro against Soraka/Kench. They curved out pretty much as you'd except. I won by t5 with an upgraded Nocturne. They couldn't block any of my fearsome guys and Diana took away a couple of their key cards. The deck is not broken. It is just strong against some archtypes.

I always wondered why they reworked Priest's core set with a bunch of midrange cards but killed all Priest's card draw at the same time. Midrange Priest with Cleric, DS+IF was one of my favorite decks of all time.

    Hope you find a way.

I get the feeling that Targon is gonna be a real annoying region to deal with.

I think this card is strong and I barely care about the win condition.

2 mana for a continousAoE heal at the end of each round. And you can win off it? That seems crazy good. I think Targon is gonna be a very annoying region.

    @Thuzad

Just a quick note - Level 2 Yasuo is a 5/5 Quick Attack for 4 cost. I'm pretty sure that's good, even with zero synergy in the deck. Similar for Jinx as well - 5/4 Quick Attack (though a deck with this Landmark in it probably never empties its hand - so that part probably never comes into play). We do have to always keep in mind, however, the raw stats and keywords of level 2 champions (like 10/6 overwhelm for 6 cost - Darius; or 13/13 tough, fearsome for 7 cost - Nautilus). Even Braum, whom I rated as bad, still has challenger and 6 health with regeneration.

Valid points for sure. Depending on your matchup 5/5 quick attack, at that stage of the game, isn’t that big of a deal. If your opponent is playing 8 drops and you are playing well-statted 4 drops you are probably still on the losing side from the tempo loss of playing Howling Abyss. Jinx is probably a bit better because of the extra draw she provides - depending on how many cards you have left in your deck and what you are playing against.

My point was not to rank them (you did a better job at that in your previous post). I just wanted to give examples of champions that require certain synergies to shine, and perhaps Yasou wasn't the best example.

I dont't like these card of cards because they are part of the reason why I don't play Hearthstone anymore. With that said I think it is balanced quite nicely and won't be a competitive card.

    • It's a value generator that can low- or highrole. And as previously discussed in this thread "when I level up" conditions do not trigger.
    • It's essentially 7 mana do nothing, so you have to be in a good position to play this card otherwise you are prone to open attacks.
    • They have printed counters to these kind of cards.
    • Champions tend to require some build-around to be good; teemo, Fiora, Maokai, Yasuo to name a few.
    • It's a meme card.
    • It is a horrible card to draw in your opening hand.

However, there can be some feel bad moments if it gives the opponent a level 2 Asol and he/she starts snowballing.

On the plus side it will probably generate a few good Youtube highlights. But Riot... careful with the RNG.

Undying Bilgwater+SI deck could use this card for good value.

    They who endure support?

I'd say it can get a bit clunky and too slow. TWE has a pretty defined curve and typically tries to end the game by t7 or 8. This card doesn't help that progress that much, and it doesn't feed TWE fast enough.
