  • Not sure what's is going on with my client/the euw servers but I wasn't able to connect to the server and play pvp.

That said I played a lot of ai games to test interactions/builds and some of those ai opponents aren't complete garbage.

My thoughts on my own Zed Ahri build is:

it kinda does what it is meant to do but I feel like the build will work way better with Poppy than it does with Zed.

Also Yordle Captain is a unit that works very well in this build

In general Ahri looks very flashy. Currently I am experiementing with Ahri played in Targon (recalling and playing Solari Sunhawk multiple times really slows down the opponent well while The Serpent is a nice way to give Ahri challenger and have a unit that you can recall without losing mana.

  • Oh noooo Poppy lost 1 attack... literally unplayable now (said no one ever)

No actually these patchnotes try to bring down Poppy decks but it reall doesn't look like this Poppy nerf will EVER matter for the go wide aggro decks that you know her being used in.

Sure now Culling Strike and Quicken can target her if the opponent doesn't have a buff but most likely it only will make Poppy unable to block Poppy and make the Poppy mirror more misreable to play

  • It's Will of Ionia on a stick. The fact that this is a play, not a summon effect removes many possible strong synergies and I am not too sure this' will be good enough

  • Why exactly makes taking off the hood elusive? I mean from a flavour perspective only the opposite (losing elusive) would make sense right?

  • It for sure is the most reliable self recall that the archetype has to offer but the fact that you need to have another unit in play or replay the unit in order to make use of the vulnerability makes this card not look that good imo.

  • I am absolutely sure that Ahri will be A PAIN to deal with (almost Fizz levels of annoyance) and that she will be quite good.

She is tempo negative and she will proably never be played in an aggro style of deck despite the deck will play cheap units like the 2 mana bladedance unit.

It's not easy to say how strong she will end up being but this looks very synergistic and hard to interact.

    About the other cards:

Charm: it's a reliable self recall but the fact that the vulnerability is only for 1 round makes it pretty impractical and only usuably later in the game.

Windsinger: Will of Ionia on a 4/3 stick? It not only turns the speed from fast to slow(which is a downgrade) it also looks quite slow and doesn't synergize with the rest of the package too well

Sai'nen Thousand-Tailed: If there is any argument for not wanting to get into the lategame against the recall archetype it's this cat.

A lot of value paired with tempo? That's how you win in the lategame.

Children of the Forest: The effect looks too gimmicy and Impractical to be good. Not every epic can be actually be good right? ;)

  • Recalling the 3/2 unit while it is blocking doesn't seem too bad.

However recalling the unit without ghostblocking or canceling removal at the same time doesn't look worth it at all.

I never said it would be like palm  and i specifically said that palm keeps being the first choice. It however could be that control would like to run some Nine Lives in addition to palm.

(I edited this to make it bettet readable and spare an extra reply)

  • The big difference is that it can get recycled with recall effects which ionia has plenty of.

In a way this seems like a sidegrade to palm.

I am certain that palm keeps being the number 1 choice for ionia decks but I can see control taking a copy or 2 of this card aswell

  • A 2 mana 3/3 doesn't cut it but a 2 mana 4/3 is getting a lot closer to viability.

It most likely wont be played before 3-4 however and at that point a 2 mana 4/3 starts to become less releveant.

It's decent at it's job but not great

  • This unit is great.

Not because it is arguably a better Navori Bladescout but because it resembles an elusive 2/1 blocker for only 1 mana which is great defensive 1 drop.

Overall I see this being played a lot on recall decks, in elusive decks and ionia decks in general

  • This card is crazy with any strong summon or last word effect

If that unit for example would be a simple draw 1 effect on a 3/3 body then you would get 2 cards 2 free attacks/blocks or sacrifize fodder and you could draw another card by playing the unit again.

That's more than enough value for 3 mana and I can see this being really strong sooner or later

  • Given that Deny is a thing and has many additional good targets I only could imagine that Ionia would run this instead of Nopeify!

I think it will see play just like 3 mana bastion saw play but i don't think it will be amazing

  • The Majority of streamers freaked out when they saw yordle explorer and I have to admit it's a strong card for an overpowered archetype -> a bad Idea but I don't buy the exaggeration that streamers like swim did spread about it.

If Yordles become the key strategy and it's all about stats then dragons should have a good shot at eating those yordles for breakfast

  • I am not sure what to think of these mecha yordles cards. This is for sure one of the best mech yordle manifesters and most likely we will play this card in mech yordle decks.

However it still doesn't impress me too much

  • Given that the requirement is very easy for the decks that run this card it should be good... a vanilla 2 mana 3/3 however is not good

  • So yordles become the new elites?

I never was impressed by the elite version of this guy and I am not impressed of this guy. Overall these units tend to be too clunky and their buff tends to be too insignificant to matter

  • Well... call me disappointed that the infamous aoe flamespitter is not dealing damage to multiple units but instead resembles a very mediocre buff spell

  • If you don't REALLY want discard effects in your deck this card is pretty bad it's in a ways a souble mystic shot that has to be targeted at a unit and the nexus at slow speed.

The slow speed is the aspect where I think this card's concept doesn't make sense anymore. It's okay for discard decks, but I think it's not too good of a card.

  • It's the kind of unit that aggro decks want... or would want if it wasn't 6 mana

  • Now this is a ... weird iteration of a champion.

He can be played as the all in discard card that we know Draven for but most likely we won't discard 3 cards to him most of the times. I more so would guess that you discard 1-2 card to him and try to swing 2 times or: to swing once with Whirling Death.

Eighter way Rumble looks like a really high risk high reward champion and at the moment I can't say at all if his potentially high reward the enormous risk he comes with

I think that he will see competetive play in eighter a Draven Rumble or Rumble Sion Shell (I guess more the latter)
