Well written, clear meta report for a sadly mostly stale Evolve meta. DoD cannot come soon enough to save us from this. 

This is exactly what I did for my first go. Mage froze my board and I evolved until I got charge damage to finish them off. Easy way to get the pack and never come back to this brawl again!

I’ve always considered how you cook it to be the defining factor of what makes a grilled cheese. Adding extra ingredients just spices things up a little.

For example, you can have a cheddar cheese, ham and mustard sandwich. Or you can have a grilled cheese with ham and mustard. Exact same ingredients, but very different flavor all because of the grilling.

If they made this change, it would open up possibilities and not restrict their design. I honestly don't understand why they haven't already gone with this solution. Oh well.

I do think it would be good to remove the gold farming from casual though. Just make it so you can only earn gold on the ladder, and I believe it would change the makeup of casual dramatically. Completing quests is fine, just remove the 10g earnings.

That’s too many days of having to restart every match because I can’t get my damn thumbs to stop squelching my opponent immediately. I’ll even sit there repeating in my head “don’t squelch, don’t squelch” then suddenly my thumbs do their own thing and the game is crashed. Maybe by the time it’s fixed, my muscle memory will have be retrained, just in time for me to not squelch my opponents so I can get enraged by a sleezy  “wow...”
