  • BOth Beast and Taunt support yet still no efficient draw to make said decks actually playable.

Looks like something we'll get more payoff for as more expansions come out.

Oh well, at least Gonk OTK in Wild gets more support :^)

  • Can't wait for when Celestial Alignment becomes a tier 1 deck and has to be nerfed into the ground because it quite  literally has no actual counter outside of "kill it within 5 turns" and then the devs go "we didn't expect it to be this strong so we have to tune it".

Just keep your Druid duplicates for the next 4 expansions. Chances are you're gonna get some of them refunded.

  • I don't buy it at all. Nothing's more transparent than "Oh shit, they're onto us. Quick, send out the resident token to give us some street cred."

Like, they talk about how these "amazing" shirts were designed by LGBT people in the company...and yet the best these people could come up with to celebrate something they're supposedly proud of is "let'S take this stock PNG we have and color it rainbow".

This isn't design. This is literally a matter of minutes to come up with, execute and finalize. This wouldn't even be a problem if it was a novelty gimmick for a charity where the actual proceeds matter more than the product itself, but this is legitimate merch they are trying to sell for profit.

The only way this could have been lazier is if they jsut took the regular Blizzard logo and added "I'm gay" in comic sans below.

  • I mean...of course I'M right. This is not an original design and the idea that this was made "with love and effort" is laughable at best. They literally couldn't even be bothered to come up with something generic like Lich King waving a rainbow flag.

It's literally just taking the Blizzard logo, then using the bucket tool to color each letter with a different color of the rainbow and then adding another one because they didn't even think about the fact that the rainbow only has 7 colors.

It's the absolute bottom of the barrel gay capitalism. No sincerity, no statement made, literally just "maybe there are enough gullible gay people that cover the costs of this low-effort merch shitpost".

If this doesn't get some massive backlash just for the sheer laziness then the LGBT community at large has lost their right to ever complain about being instrumentalized by corporate capitalism.

  • Ah yes, ye olde "we support you by letting you give us money for rainbow colored reprints of stuff we already had? Don't believe us? Here's a representative of [insert demographic here] to let you know that this is all genuine and not just an easy moneygrab."

I don't see any charity or other pro-bono stuff going on, so it is literally just "we painted the Blizzard logo rainbow, give us money"

  • Should be worth noting that most of these are easier in Wild because Starving BUzzard is a 2-mana Auctioneer for a class that doesn't really have draw.

  • Honestly the Paladin spell makes me think it was originally a 6-cost (or even 5-cost that summmons 4) because at 7 no Paladin deck plays this, while at 5 or 6 it could have easily been yet another strong midrange play and good god do we not need that right now.

  • Axe Cow has to be Shaman. Isn't there some sort of weapon based Shaman build in WoW?

  • then again, which deck outside of Deathrattle Demon Hunter would even run this?

Out of the 8 (!) keywords only Poisonous and Divine Shield are really relevant. Rush only matters if it dies on your turn, Spell Damage can't really be played around consistently, Taunt occasionally forces unfavorable trades, Stealth matters vaguely, Windfury can occasionally snowball in buff classes and Lifesteal is basically irrelevant outside of a few specific matchups.

It's probably a great Arena card, but I don't see any constructed deck running a glorified Harvest Golem.

I mean, the strongest thing this even does is sticking around for a turn if your opponent can't clear it in a single turn or can't risk getting a bad roll.

  • So basically we know that they are based on different WoW  classes.

The ones shown are Paladin (Divine Shield), Hunter (Poisonous), Warrior (Taunt), Warlock (Lifesteal) and Demon Hunter (Rush)

Based on the banner we're still missing Shaman (likely Windfury), Rogue (likely stealth) and what I can only assume to be Mage (Spell Damage probably?)

  • But none of these decks were ever really top tier.

Rez Priest had counters and Tickatus is just a Priest hardcounter and nothing else. Illucia was only printed as a combo counter for Priests so they don't just roll over to decks that OTK them, and it has a terrible winrate on ladder because it is almost useless against anything else.

Meanwhile Alignment is an unironic control killer because no control deck can beat it....at all

  • I don'T understand why they want Alignment Druid to be a thing. That deck is the most toxic one-sided BS ever conceived and if it wasn't for the absolutely garbage winrate it would be hated more than Tickatus and Rez Priest combined.

  • yea except in a midrange meta you will never end up in a situation where you can just play this comfortably.

  • I wonder if every class will get a Dungeoneer or only the ones with specific Spell Schools.

  • and yet people are already going "oh god this looks so spooky ooooooh".

  • and Blizzard doesn'T like combo decks so this is on brand.

Anything that makes OTK decks suffer is good in my book. Work for your wins you lazy hippies goddamnit

  • Priest relies on Shadow Spells too much to reliably run this for the intended effect, but at the same time it's a very decent draw option that also synergizes with Raise Dead.

This in turn means that Priest now might have enough card draw to reconsider running C'thun, which they might have to once random generation becomes more and more inconsistent and stuff like Scorpid and Wandmaker no longer cuts it.

  • You cannot build a functioning Mage deck that runs mostly Frost spells, making this essentially a worse version of Arcanologist most of the time. Mage doesn't need draw that much and Frost Mage doesn't exist.

At best you run this in Hero Power Mage as an additional tutor so maybe you can run other spells alongside Wildfire, but that deck is bottom tier garbage and this certainly doesn't help.

  • Hey look, it's Tickatus 2.0...most likely to be similarly overrated.

Real talk, if you can spend 7-mana to maybe delete a relevant card from your opponent's hand then you're probably already winning. This only matters in Control vs Control matchups at which point we'd actually need a meta where Control decks are not only top tier but also so immensly greedy that pulling a random minion from their hand is a net positive most of the time and not just a huge waste of mana.

The only cards in current decks that you would want to pull with this in a control deck (aka Warrior, Priest, or Warlock) are Lady Liadrin, Rattlegore, Tickatus, [Hearthstone Card (Y'shaarj the Defiler) Not Found], Troublemaker, Illidari Inquisitor and Carnival Clown.

Most of thesee are usually played in decks with enough minions that you will never reliably pull them outside of specific situations. Only Clown, Liadrin and Rattlegore usually end up in situations where you get an obvious chance in which case most other available answers will usually do the trick anyways.

Unless there's some crazy way to duplicate the guy and just munch their entire hand I don't see this being anything beyond a meme.

  • Basically the cornerstone of Shaman decks from now until...the next best substitute arrives.

Control, Aggro, Midrange. All of them will run this and build aaround it approprietly.

As it stands, there are only 9 Shaman spells that aren't Nature: Devolving Missiles, Guidance, Primordial Studies, Revolve, Deathmatch Pavilion, Feral Spirit, Molten Blast, Nofin Can Stop Us and Totemic Reflection.

Out of these only Missiles, and Feral Spirit can be considered universally good enough, but Shaman doesn't actuallly rely on Missiles like Mage does and Feral Spirit is far from necessary.

Guidance and Studies will become less and less relevant the more the discover pool is diluted so there absence won't be missed and everything else is part of specific archetypes that you can still build with this card, because as long as you add enough Nature spells into the deck (most of which are usually run in those decks anyways) you still have a good chance of getting your mana's worth (and drawing just a single spell isn't horrible either).
