  • a concise battlecry package. All the lackey generators because lackeys are OP + maybe something like LAdy Vashj (probably not, she sucks), Marshspawn for more spells, the Lurker Below and other battlecry clears, etc.

Basically anything that generates value or fights for the board. I'm envisioning a pure value deck with some minor burn capabilities. Really, the one thing it currently lacks is proper healing (which hopefully gets fixed through Druid/Shaman dual cards)

On paper my battlecry core would be: EVIL Totem, Cable Rat, Sludge Slurper, the Author, Questing Explorer and Licensed Adventurer (or just one of the two), Kragg, and Erkh (for later in the game). That's about a 12-card core (can be tweaked further) that can be expanded with more lategame focussed battlecires like Hagatha, Lurker, or just something simple like Batrider.

the rest should be enough room for totems and spells (whichever performs better).

Not saying this is tier 1 material, but I think it has a better shot at beating the meta than current Battlecry shaman.

  • I just had the idea that maybe this could bring back Quest Shaman?...or at least open up new possibilities. If you run plenty of spells (which Shaman has some archetypal support for) you can run this as your main quest completion engine and maybe not have to run so many battlecry cards to make it work. As a result you can bypass the typical weakness of Quest Shaman which is being very easily pushed off the board with no way to recover (especially since MCT has passed).

Stuff like Torrent and the AoO Elemental that discovers spells are fantastic for this.  You basically have a recycleable ping spammer that gets bettter after finishing the quest. Maybe you can even incorporate a totem package since EVIL Totem is already a staple. Add a few more totems and the 0-cost totem buffers (better thanks to Totem Goliath) and you have plent of cheap spells to recycle the author (also gives you something to do before finishing the quest)

Basically Quest SHaman could return as a very value focussed deck that uses this guy for boardcontrol and pressure.

Fuck it, I'm gonna try it, it's not like Shaman can get any worse.

  • I have the ominous feeling t hat this will be key for some spell centric deck, but I have no idea which one that would be.

  • Well....I mean....he exists?

I have no idea how to properly use this. He's essentially a 1-mana ping that can be reused multiple times as long as you have spells. At the same time....does that accomplish anything?

I guess it could help slower, spell-heavy decks to contest the board early....although awkwardly.

  • Really, i can't help but compare it to Greenskin. It does the same (potentially more than once, but unlikely) and it's more proactive.

I guess this is just one way to get his effect on a more playable card?

  • So..uh...it's just Greenskin then?

Rush is cool and all, but this guy won't stick around for more than one turn. I guess he just replaces Greeskin...or he's run alongside him for consistency. Either way if you take away the Upgrade effect you're left with a 4-mana 4/4 with rush...which is just....meh

  • only a minor one though.

You can always just play this before Kanrethad so you don't run the risk of pulling him, and even if you do it's not the end of the world.

  • because Warlock doesn't have many big demons yet (and I assume they're getting some that have yet to be revealed). They just didn't wanna spoil

  • Guess that confirms that big demons will be the Warlock theme.

Granted this is very low, but we do have The Dark Portal to make it work (also Quest)

If you think about it this is basically Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

  • friendship ended with Priestess of Fury

now Willow is my new waifu

  • besides the obvious comparison to Bloodsworn I think this is just generally too situational.

You have to combo it with a rush minion, meaning it won't come online until 7-mana usually.

Granted, it's a better way to get more Kargaths but that's about it.

There's no way you can throw this out on 3 and expect it to live

  • I think you underestimate how proactive Shaman can be early these days.

There's a good chance you can slam this down and not have to worry about it being removed conveniently.

At the end of the day any token-based Shaman deck can just steal the win via Bloodlust, so any card that makes it inconvenient for your opponent to remove your boad is a threat.

This is basically the double threat of either getting doubled by Reflection or turning into 4 tokens to be buffed by Vessina, Storm Surge or Bloodlust.

  • finally some good Totem Cruncher support. Wild meta will never be the same :^)

10/10 pun, and very solid card all around.

Remember when Simulacrum was played in Quest Mage? Exactly.

...but Quest Mage was an OTK deck. There is no Demon OTK for Warlock or DH

But if there is one in the future..

then it would need to be one that specifically requires you to get more copies of a specific minion than you can put in your deck (which is why Simulacrum was used in the first place).

Needless to say that will never happen because Team5 have stated that they don't like uninteractive OTK decks and tend to curb them whenever possible. This is a value card, and an inconsistent one at that.

  • apparently Demon Hunters class identity is to ruin the game for everyone else

  • looks terrible to be honest...

Tempo DH doesn't have time or the need to copy their weakest demons.

Big Demon Hunter could possibly use it, but that deck doesn't even exist and after the Priestess of Fury nerf I don't think it ever will.

For Warlock it's just a complete bust. Zoo probably doesn't care about this (not that it's necessarily bad, but I wouldn't waste a card slot on it) and Big Demon Handlock can't efficiently use the outcast effect (nor does it need to).

The only gimmick I could see is using it in a Quest deck where you aim to discount a demon to 0 with the hero power (or the Dark Portal) and then copy that one for a big tempo play, but that seems incredibly inconsistent.

  • This will get nerfed within two weeks or control decks are literally non-existant and Demon Hunter will solo the meta even harder than it already does.

Print this card for Warlock and it's fine, but putting it in Demon Hunter is about as idiotic as printing an unconditional Reno for Warlock.

  • no

    no

    NO

If this sees ANY amount of play (and it will) and doesn't get hotfix nerfed within the first two weeks I'm quitting the game until it is dealt with.

This literally spits in the face of everything they previously claimed to care for. THIS IS LITERALLY A WATERED DOWN VERSION OF THE EFFECT THAT ILLIDAN HAD BACK IN BETA, THAT WAS DEEMED TOO UNFAIR BECAUSE IT JUST SHITCANNED AN ENTIRE ARCHETYPE WITH NO COUNTER.

This is the type of card you give Warlock because you know it goes against everything they usually play and will end up as some meme. You don't give this to a HIGH TEMPO CLASS that quickly empties their hand and is already a pain to deal with for most control decks.

This will probably just replace Skull of Gul'dan. 2-mana cheaper, you only need to play it once you're completely out of ressources and it halves your opponents options. It's only bad against other aggro decks WHICH YOU STILL TROUNCE, BECAUSE YOU ARE DEMON HUNTER.

This is the same type of garbage as Conjurer's Calling that clearly was never playtested by anyone competent and it upsets me that we are still being subjected to this kind  of careless design in 2020.

    Keep all copies.

  • I find this very concerning with the whole totem archetype still being around.

Also, notably, if this gets popped the turn you play it you can follow it up on the next one with Vessina and have all the totems ready to attack.

Either way, totemic Reflection has already proven to be a useful spell and maybe there's room for a totem package in Galakrond.

    Fear the Bloodlust.
