Did you get the supposed free deck from coming back?

Its been a lot better actually, far as standard is concerned. Wild is a mess, but with Warglaives of Azzinoth being nerfed things might change.

Its not been totally great. The adventure, in my opinion, sucked. Standard is somewhat balanced now though priest is still cancer. Dhunters are at the forefront, but no longer as abusive as it was.

If you're really feeling it, try totem shaman or quest druid. Lots of fun, but inconsistent results. Theres probably still a little time before the nerfs, so maybe try out control dhunters before warglaives gets the nerf.

don't think just two months  pause is enough for that

Taking a break from Hearthstone only to get 200 years'd in League? Man you sure picked a great destination for your vacation, huh?

Like others said, you didn't miss much. Standard has been Illidan all around despite multiple nerf waves (with another one inbound this week) and no new real interesting decks popped up either.

Just some Battlegrounds and PvE stuff if you're interested in that.

to be fair, League is a lot less frustrating if you play it with the lads (although nothing can make the mute moontwink and his 20 dildos any less annoying). Either way, it made me appreciate how little overall time investment Hearthstone involves.

Still unspoiled on the whole Outland story so I think I might be doing that for the next few days. Are there any rewards for that?

A cardback. If you do the Heroic bosses, you get a golden version of Kael'thas Sunstrider.

I also recommend that you watch the Felfire Festival video; it was the best part of the whole event lol:

alright, that was pretty lit. Guess I have motivation to play through that story now

saw the Pirates, ended up watching a bit of Trump only to realize that Battlegrounds is still a shitshow.

Pretty much doing the Challenges nets you a Golden Kael'thas Sunstrider. Otherwise, the story is pretty alright. I don't believe there are any other rewards aside from maybe a card back?

I assume I don't get to DE that one, right?

  • So about 2 months ago I just kinda short-circuited and uninstalled Hearthstone for the first time in years (which I assume all of you have noticed seeing how I was clearly the most illustrious personality on this site and my sudden absence must have been considered a national tragedy comparable to the Hindenburg disaster).

Surprisingly enough during that whole time I didn't actually miss Hearthstone at all. It was an incredibly freeing experience and I would honestly recommend it to anyone who feels burnt out with the game. Losing a few months of gold/cards really isn't that bad now that you easily get all your rares and commons within the first 30 packs of a new expansions anyways.

Spent my time catching up with League again, but now that has lost its appeal again and since the new expansion is just around the corner (and I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to cash in on the nerf refunds) I decided to check back in.

Now obviously I'm not completely out of the loop, but I thought it would be fun to let you people give me a TL;DR of the last two months, just so I can get into the spirit of losing my sanity once I realize why I quit in the first place.

Also, if you wanna hear a funny anecdote: I quit just before the Priestess of Fury nerfs hit so despite holding on to my extra copies because I knew it would get hit eventually I still didn't manage to actually cash in on the extra dust...and the funny thing is I don't even really care anymore. i realized I was way too focused on trying to maximize ressources when I barely even used them. I'm really going to try and focus on just building fun decks now and probably only play every other day for fun and quests while I let my absurdly large dustbin and draconic dusting policy carry me through the expansions.

  • that analogy only works if you play Skyrim like a scrub. Real men abuse the Ritual Stone like degenerates (which, ironically, is a far better analogy to what Priest actually does)

Also I'm pretty sure that makes the deck unplayable since you can't possibly get enough minions in the pool to consistently rez...effectively meaning you'd have to buff every single rez spell to make up for it.

  • Mage expansion confirmed, the new buildaround legendary will be Dongus the Bongus: "If your deck contains only nerfed cards deal 59 damage split across both players at the start of the game"

  • it'S easy if you can just discredit anyone you disagree with as a troll, isn't it?

Also, if you really think they're just a troll then maybe don't engage them in the first place you mouthbreather?

  • that's not the point. If all you can muster against a stupid argument is "fuck you" then you're no better than the opposition and anybody unfamiliar with the discussion will probably disregard you on account of not presenting an actual argument.

If you're gonna respond, respond with facts and don't just shitpost because your feelings were hurt.

  • you'd be correct, however....what does any of that have to do with Blizzcon?

Blizzcon is a completely useless event in terms of public service so cancelling it in favour of not contributing to the spread of a disease is pretty sensible. I'm pretty sure the hypothetical staff of Blizzcon has bigger problems at the moment than not being able to get this side-job.

  • should probably refute his points instead of just resorting to insults

  • Oh no, the dreaded Hearthstone Killer is back again, how will it survive this time?

  • I would argue the class needs some OP cards to function. The problem was mostly that basically every card they had was above acceptable powerleve. If you reduuce the number of those cards you get more in line with the standard philosophy of playing a few really good cards and a bunch of average cards to support them.

Twin Slice is core to what DH does, similar to Kayn. By nerfing Priestess and Sigil Runner they are already shaving power from other areas that DH shouldn't be as good as

  • Statistically it will because you can snowball the board early and take a lead instead of having to pass turn 1 every game, which makes it easier to beat Demon Hunter (and any other deck that wants to get on the board)

Realistically it won't make the deck any more competitive than it already is

  • The mighty Stonetusk Boar claims yet another victim. HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THIS

  • Yeah no, I'm done with Hearthstone for now. I'm gonna wait this one out until the next round of nerfs.

If I wanted to play games where I lose on the spot if I don't have an instant answer to every threat multiple turns in a row I would play LoR

There is actually no class outside of Priest that has a reliable and efficient answer to Priestess of Fury (especially not on turn 5) and Bomb Wrangler is just the pinnacle of garbage design. The main reason people hated Boom back in the day was because of how the Boombot RNG could just ruin you even if you played perfectly...and they just put it into a 3-drop that's even harder to deal with.

At the vey least I can rest easy knkowing that another nerf patch is basically inevitable. See you in 2 weeks or so

  • Yeah Warrior and Demon Hunter will have to get nerfed sometime soon or we'll have a two class meta.

  • Idk, the problem with Hack the System is how schizophrenic its gameplan is.

It encourages a value playstyle through trying to maximize your 4/3s ...but you need to use your weapons to get the quest done...and you need more weapons to use the reward properly

At the end of the day it just feels like a deck that'S right between value and aggro but excels at neither so it will always get beaten out by any deck that is more specialized in either direction.

In reply to AoO - Hack the System
  • I'm not sure which deck can get 6-7 minions as 3/3s on turn 4.

Druid at best ramp to 6-mana on coin on turn 3 and then plays Glowfly + maybe INnervate + Power of the Wild on 4....which is the absolute highroll....and even then you can Hellfire that.

Most of the time you're dealign with 2-health minions, which most control deck can deal with in some capacity.

If you're upset with board flooding just build a deck that counters it.
