Actually it's easy to play around.
Paladin secrets are often baffling, but this one makes absolutely no sense flavorwise.
In any case, the potential of this card to completely screw you is about the same as when you decide to put this card into your deck. Just not really worth it really. A poor man's Counterspell, like really poor.
Yeah this is very situational because any spell above 4-5 mana will still be good usually. You will probably give them a better spell a lot of the time if its a high cost one.
Paladin in particular is all over the place this expansion.
It's somekind of Counterspell but synergyzing pretty weird with Commander Rhyssa

As Yogg himself and Puzzle Box have shown, on average a random spell is beneficial for the caster, so Rhyssa would have anti-synergy.
Yes, that's what I mean. Triggering that secret with Rhyssa in board means double casting a spell.
