Dean Ayala has announced that we're going to see 10 cards have their previous nerfs reverted!
- 5 of these cards are currently in the Wild format.
- 4 of these cards are from the Year of the Raven and are rotating to wild.
- 1 card is currently in the Year of the Dragon sets.
- The exact numbers may still change.
We don't have details on what cards are being reverted yet, though we'd love to know what you think. Which cards do you think are getting unnerfed?
Quote From Dean Ayala Planning on reverting a handful of card nerfs just before the upcoming set rotation. We’ll share details on exactly what those cards are in the next couple weeks but they currently include 5 Wild cards, 4 Year of the Raven cards (rotating to Wild), and 1 Year of the Dragon card.
Sharing thoughts always comes with the risk that things can change, so if those numbers don’t end up being final it was in the name of iteration! I wonder if anyone will guess exactly the right 10 cards. When the time comes we’ll announce them on official Hearthstone channels.

Just unnerf Dreadsteed already. The demonic pony was nerfed for the supposed Defile infinite loop, which really was addressed almost right away upon releasing by giving the spell a 14 proc hard limit before stopping.
The card never saw play in any actual competitive deck that oppressed the meta and personally I'd like to play a true Ponylock again.
I disagree with everyone predicting Giggling Inventor.
At 5 mana, it is one of the most powerful cards ever printed. It was an auto include in most decks in both Standard and Wild when it was at 5 mana. Just read Blizzard's notes on the change:
"Giggling Inventor is one of the most powerful and popular cards we’ve ever created. There’s virtually no downside to including it in a deck, and because it’s neutral, it’s played in almost every deck. We think it’s important to take risks when making powerful cards, especially when it comes to neutral taunts, given the role they can play in encouraging minion interactions and making games more interesting. However, Giggling Inventor has stepped beyond its intended role, and we don’t feel that it should be as effective as it currently is.
We initially tested this card at (6) mana in both the current Standard format as well as with cards that will be released in the future. Ultimately, we felt that its power level was still higher than is appropriate for a Neutral card with no build-around requirements. At (7) mana, we expect Giggling Inventor will find its way into fewer decks in general—and be much less effective in Quest Rogue—while it might remain situationally playable within specific deck archetypes, such as Evolve Shaman."
Even with the power creep, this card is just too powerful at 5 mana as a neutral card with no build-around requirements. This card will not be unnerfed back to 5 mana. Maybe someday a buff to 6, but I really don't see them ever going back to 5.
TONIGHT! A tale of wonder & magic!
Raza would be great. I think it would counter some of the top decks in wild. Plus i never got to play the pew pew priest deck. I did play against it and boy was it a stressful race to finish them before they get to go off
My prediction is Year of the Raven : Sludge Slurper rotation cards: [Hearthstone Card (Dr.Boom, Mad Genius) Not Found] , Raiding Party , Reckless Experimenter , Giggling Inventor
Wild Possessed Lackey Spiteful Summoner Bonemare Call to Arms and Lesser Emerald Spellstone
Nothing too game breaking to the powerlevel of wild cards
They definitely could adjust Bonemare again but no one would play it either way.
The announcement really can't come soon enough. Expectations are super high and the suspense is killing me.
All and any of these can be reverted with ease
Abusive Sergeant
Yogg
Tuskar
Gadgetzan
Soulfire
Molten Giant
Innervate
War axe
Warleader
Spreading Plague
Bonemare
Raza
Flametougue
Prep
Boom
Extra arms
Yeah Spreading Plague, sure.
Let me be honest, you just typed "nerfed cards hs" on Google without even caring about reading the patch notes or checking when the changes got released.
Some of the stuff you posted got changed back during beta and, for example, Molten Giant's nerf was already reverted almost 2 years ago.
Now that I think about it, you may even be a troll, since some mistakes are so obvious that looks like you made them on purpose.
Either way, I'm afraid my friend but you are quite far from what could reasonably happen.
You clearly didn't play the game when Extra-Arms was at 2
extra arms at 2 wasn't as game breaking in wild as the standard metagame where combo priest was very close to the best deck without extra arms even in it.
So, let's talk about what they could do.
Keyword here is Unnerf, not buff, so they are only changing cards that have been nerfed already.
They are taking cards from current wild expansions (5), Year of the Raven expansions (4) and Descent of Dragons (1).
The candidates from the first bucket are: Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Call of the Wild, Tuskarr Totemic, Spirit Claws, Small-Time Buccaneer, The Caverns Below, Spreading Plague, Raza the Chained, Patches the Pirate, Spiteful Summoner, Call to Arms, Aviana, Leeching Poison, Saronite Chain Gang, Lesser Emerald Spellstone and Barnes.
Taking out cards that would be too broken or still unplayable, we're left with Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Raza the Chained, Spiteful Summoner, Spiteful Summoner, Barnes, Aviana and Saronite Chain Gang.
The second group contains cards that are rotating, so stuff from the Year of the Raven. Possible choices include Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Extra Arms, Luna's Pocket Galaxy, Raiding Party, Giggling Inventor. Giggling would be extremely powerful in wild, and LPG is currently in the meta, thanks to Dragoncaster, therefore needs no revert. That leaves us with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Extra Arms, Raiding Party, and obviously Reckless Experimenter.
The third group is to be treated with caution, since the cards are still standard legal and will be after rotation.
Archivist Elysiana, EVIL Miscreant, Conjurer's Calling, Corrupt Elementalist, Sludge Slurper, Faceless Corruptor, Mogu Fleshshaper, Dragonqueen Alexstrasza, Necrium Apothecary, Invocation of Frost, Dragon's Pack, Ancharrr, Scion of Ruin and Fiendish Rites will in fact leave standard next april, and were nerfed for a reason. Archivist remains unplayable in wild, but the difference between 8 and 9 is insignificant since Baleful Banker is leaving. Miscreant, Conjurer's, Elementalist, Sludge Slurper, Faceless Corruptor, Dragonqueen Alextrasza, Dragon's Pack, Ancharrr, Scion and Fiendish Rites would be problematic in standard, so the best candidates for a revert, imo, are Mogu Fleshshaper, Necrium Apothecary and Necrium Apothecary, since Necrium Blade and Vial are rotating to wild.
Looking back at the full list of nerfs there aren't as many as I expected there to be in the current Wild-only pool. The full list of those is:
Those I would be OK with being reverted I have marked with a *, and the only 2 I would actually want reverted with **.
Dark Pact would feel fine considering Warlock is all about risking lethal range and heals are getting cheaper overtime
You left Aviana in the wild cards that won't be "too broken"? You do remember that Aviana was nerfed only once it became a part of a deck that literallyBROKE wild? They cannot unnerf that card.
Yet again an announcement of an announcement c'mon blizz...
Random string of thought, what if they unnerf Conjurer's Calling and send Mountain Giant to the HoF
I like the idea of unnerfing Conjurer's Calling.
With Grave Horror rotating , CCing a MG will always give another MG, so no more Taunt for mage.
I suppose that's still quite powerful though....they should have introduced a low stats 12-cost with a powerful battlecry to bring some chances of lowroll.
With Luna's pocket galaxy also leaving this is reasonable but I still don't think it will b e Conj.
I'll 1-up that... what if they finally make the change of cards on the board having the mana cost that you played them?
No... I will not get my hopes up for that again...
