Confirmed this evening by Hearthstone's Chadd "Celestalon" Nervig, Hearthstone's new Demon Hunter class is going to receive a Classic set!
- We're still a couple of years off from Demon Hunters getting cards in the Classic set.
- It is possible we'll see some Demon Hunter cards from expansions moved into Classic.
- Currently, Demon Hunters have cards in the Basic, Ashes of Outland, and "Demon Hunter Initiate" sets.
It sure is exciting to have a new class in the game, it's good to see the Hearthstone team is already talking about the long-term plans for the class.
Quote From Chadd Nervig The 15 cards per expansion in Year of the Phoenix will provide parity with other classes' Classic during the following year. And sometime before the year after that, we will be making them a Classic set, likely comprised of at least some expansion cards that we want to make permanent. We have a long time before we need to decide which ones those are to make evergreen, so are taking that time.

Great - there were some rumors that Demon Hunter wouldn't be a permanent class. Those fears are now assuaged.
I mean, I sure hope the Demon Hunter has a classic set.
Oh so they will add it after live play testing I thought we were missing some cards we didn't see yet.
Good to know we won't have the classic set of DH until next year, so after I finish the set (now it's possible) I will wait on those classic packs for next year..
I think the intention is to take cards from here and there for dhunter and make it part of classic. So chances are you will already have the card.
I'd be a lot more excited about all of this amazing Hearthstone news if the state of the world wasn't so stuck on my mind. Looking forward to all reveal season has to offer and hopefully it will be a good distraction while we all hunker down for the foreseeable future.
This is as good as it is new. On top of that, it they actually do make expansion cards into Classic cards for DH, it sets a precedent that they could do it for other clases, considering that they reworked Priest, they could choose to take out one or two Basic or Classic cards from any class and replace them with (any) expansion cards.
Well, honestly, I've never been hyped like this before any other expansion!
