On the 10th, the new content writer applications officially closed. When can we expect results to be announced or to be contacted back at least?

First off, let's be clear: I'm not here to cry and complain "boo hoo some anonymous person on the internet doesn't like me" etc. But I've been noticing a lot of downvotes recently that don't make sense.
Example #1: I posted a deck a few weeks ago, and upvoted myself. Someone else came along and downvoted it. No comment or anything. What's the point? If you don't like the deck, offer some constructive criticism. Why was it worth someone's time to just randomly downvote a deck?
Example #2: During the card reveal season leading up to Darkmoon Faire, I went around voting on and commenting on every card, like most of you did. Every now and then someone would make an inflammatory statement and get a bunch of downvotes, or get lots of upvotes for a really funny one. Makes sense. But I saw lots of downvoted comments (mine and other people's) where there was nothing to like or dislike.
It looks to me like some folks (or maybe just one really antisocial dweeb) are just going around downvoting everything they see. Does this bother anyone else? if we're all here to discuss the game, share decks and thoughts, and even disagree with each other, doesn't this type of behavior cheapen the legitimate use of the downvote?
I welcome your thoughts.

Hey was just curious if any of the site admins were aware that the Duels deckbuilder is still missing 5 starting treasures? I've been waiting for awhile hoping they would be added as I make a lot of Duels decks. Here are the treasures missing:
Mage:
*Elemental Learning.
*Infinite Arcane.
Demon Hunter:
*Gift of the Legion.
Hunter:
*Bonecrusher.
Warlock:
*Killmox, the Banished One.
Hope this can help with getting the Duels deckbuilder updated, many of these starting treasures see a lot of play with 2 of them being among the best starting treasures.

Hi,
A new ad appeared a few days ago, consisting of an autoplay video showing up at the bottom right of the screen.
The issue is that,on mobile, I have to scroll the page to see the "X", as it goes outside of the page boundaries. Also, is there any way to prevent the autoplay or to mute it by default? I'm really against these kinds of video ads that suddenly make noise.
There is also another issue on mobile, when viewing replies that contain lots of quotes. I suggest to try and remove the borders around each of the quotes and simply show a (or multiple) down-pointing arrow(s) to showcase the inner quote levels. This would prevent ending up with one letter per row after many quote levels.
Edit: why am i seeing a "COMMENT_COUNT_25_HS" near my username? :D
Also, I typed spaces between paragraphs, yet the final post shows them all as one wall of text.

Hey, it's time for theorycrafting with the new set! and Deckbuilder (Hearthstone) doesn't seem to be working. Instead of normal collectible cards, it's showing hero powers and hero portraits from PvE content.

While I get that it's vital for the page to generate as much traffic and discussion as possible, navigating the forums during reveal seasons is a nightmare. The "From the Forums" box gets crowded with card discussion threads and finding anything else becomes a real pain until around expansion launch.
Some of us just want to see if there's something new in the usual threads like CDC discussion, salt/pepper, Card Treasure Hunt and so on and it takes no little effort to dig them out at those times when a big part of the community is hunting for the "Comment on every new card thread" site achievement.
I don't have a clue about programming and running a website, but maybe it would be possible to clone the "From the Forums" box during reveal seasons, one of them showing only threads from the Card Discussion forum and the other everything else. That way, both audiences would be served and site navigation would become A LOT easier.

Hello
Can we get Mythgard button on top of the site like we have for Hearthstone, Runeterra and MTGA right now?
I (and probably other people) play more than one game and I also play Mythgard. With that fast click you can filter information about one game. There is no filter for Mythgard and in moments like this (big changes to Runeterra and Hearthstone) its hard to navigate and find news about Mythgard.
I had just this situation today, I seen glimpse of information that there is something new about Mythgard but when I had time to read it couple of hours later it was harder to find it between all those new Hearthstone cards :)
It's not big issue, I can use my eyes to find it sooner or later but this would be healpfull.
Thank you for your hard work and awesome site.
Have a nice day

This is a very small idea, but even though I really like the community bingo during card reveal season, I end up "forgeting it exists" because the thread gets lost underneath all the card reveal threads. So, my idea was to put a shortcut on the expansion page that lead to the community bingo thread.

Continuing a discussion in a dedicated thread that doesn't have HP in the name because, ahem, fuck that heap of trash.
Quote From KANSAS Quote From Erodos Lastly, I would like more incentives for discussing decks. Every expansion release cycle you guys do a great job in incentivising users to discuss the newly revealed cards, with titles and stuff. I think if you would add similar incentives to regularly voting and commenting on decks, that would drive up engagement with them. Even if just one person is incentivised through this to comment on a deck, that would lead to more people commenting as a result, since people are more likely to comment on a deck on which already has been commented. The precise implementation of these incentives I do not have a developed idea for though.
It would be cool if you could earn the new currency by voting on a commenting on decks. I don't know exactly how this new gold system is going to work, but it would be cool if once a week we had a sort of "quest" to comment on at least one deck and vote on at least 3. Really, the best way for the decks on this site to get more attention is for us to simply give them more attention.
Quests are going to be a thing! I don't want to get too far into it all just yet but Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal Quests are going to happen. There will also be larger quests that will require the entire community to participate in to complete that will equally reward everyone that took part in them.
Seasonal? What the Flux?
So, yeah. I'll talk a bit about that now but don't expect anything on that until next year. Even staff members don't really know the whole plan behind this yet because I don't know it all yet.
The idea is that we'll have a few themed seasons during the year. It might be 4, it might be 6 (either every 3 or 2 months, likely trying 3 to start) and during that time, there will be exclusive stuff to earn and special themed content sorta like Oozefest. The idea is to try and change it up every season so things don't always feel the same but there will definitely be some kind of repeat content. I've always wanted to do something similar to a Battle Pass on the site, even during the HP days but nothing was ever approved to get worked on, so we'll have some form of specialized, seasonal progression.
There will 100% be something exclusive for premium members during each themed season.
Encouraging interaction on the site remains tough though. We can't encourage people too much because that could lead to fatigue or it'll lead to a whole lot of nonsense. One point that has been brought up in the past with encouraging voting and commenting on new cards is that we get low-quality discussion. I both agree and disagree on that topic, something I know I've talked about a few times in the past on the forums. The main issue is how do we avoid that in general.
I can't really create a quest to go and upvote something. It might work for the forums and comments, or even news articles themselves, but asking someone to go an upvote a deck is going to cause problems. Maybe limiting something like deck voting to once a week would help, I don't know. It could also be interesting to try and establish a "new queue" for deck guides and to ask people to go through it and provide feedback. Maybe you'd have to have some form of "certification" before you would be eligible for quests like that, like having a certain post count or account age. Again, I don't know but it is something we need to tread carefully on.
I do like what having the Shop and Gold will do for us though. We can give out rewards a lot more freely to people without giving out a big reward. Letting everyone save up and buy what they desire will be nice. The hard part will be having enough stuff available that people want to actively spend their gold. I have 3 additional ideas for site cosmetics/customization that we'll roll out in the new year, with one of those things coming with the Holiday event.
I also want to give all the staff a weekly amount of currency to freely give out to posts they deem appropriate. It might only be 10 or 20 Gold, but they'll have the option to give it out to decks and comments that they find meet their own special criteria. Maybe it was funny, maybe it was high quality. Having more personalized handouts adds some fun to the system, especially if people know who is giving it to them.
^ That, I also want to let some community members do too, once we figure out a solid criteria for enabling it. Maybe we'll start by giving premium members an allowance to hand out each month and see where that takes us.
I also want to put together a feed so everyone can see what comments are earning gold. I guess its sort of like Reddit Gold if you are familiar with it, just with a different ultimate purpose.
The hardest part about all this though at the end of the day is having the time to work to implement everything. So damn few hours in the day and I already don't push enough content onto our homepage, love everyone on the staff that does that for us!
Anyway, here's a new thread to talk about encouragement stuff. GO!
Decks on Hearthpwn get like 50+ upvotes but on here it's a miracle for 10. Why aren't there that many people here and how can we get more?

In this way, the beautiful profile header background is less covered up by the member-avatar DIV which becomes more relevant when the username is a bit longer (like mine) 😄

First, off I'm not sure which prefix to put it under so sorry if I picked the wrong one. But anyways on with my point, I had an idea for a sort of mini-event to have on Out Of Cards. Essentiality you pick an old god then you join their cult get a little tittle or something to show your pride. But now here's the kicker we get some puzzles like the crosswords for pirate day and when a cult member completes it they get a point added to their cult's total then at the end the winning cult gets a profile theme or something IDK.
I'm not too sure if it's actually possible since I don't know jack about coding or how much work it would take but I thought it would be a neat little thing to do while waiting for the xpac. And once again sorry if I put this in the wrong prefix.
Extremely high-quality concept board below unless its broken:

Themes 1.C'thun 2. N'zoth 3. Yogg 4. Y'shaarj

Under the menu, it is the 14th(!) item down. I have to scroll to see, it goes off screen. And it will only get longer with new expansions.
The widget disappears if nobody saves a pack in 7 days.

Hi
I wonder if the content team would consider making the weekly tavern brawl a dedicated news article.
I know there is a link to the current brawl on the right, which shares it's posts with all previous times the brawl has been seen and the appearance dates of which are listed, and I like the efficiency of that - it's very clean.
But it doesn't feel like a shared experience that we get with a front page article on the subject where experiences/decks are shared etc. They don't seem to garner much in the way of community feedback most weeks whereas a new article likely would.
With season 2 of the weekly card design competitions right around the corner, I'm bound to search the hell out of the card database again. Comparing costs, stats, effects and so on often requires to use several filters. I really appreciate…
With season 2 of the weekly card design competitions right around the corner, I'm bound to search the hell out of the card database again. Comparing costs, stats, effects and so on often requires to use several filters. I really appreciate all the work you've put in there, cleaning up the menu and staying up to date with all the weird new stuff (new class, dual class cards, new keywords, ...).
One thing I've been missing on several occasions is a button that deletes all applied filters. It's an easy workaround to reload the collectible cards page from the menu, but such a button would be a nice quality of life feature neverthless. It could also be applied to other sites that use filters, like Decks.

It would be nice if the 'Open Another <expansion> Pack' either loaded only the card pack fragment or if it 'auto scrolled' back down to the card backs on page refresh.
