[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

I found the original one pretty neat, let’s see how this goes...

To quote the legendary Riosix:

It's a treasure hunt using your Hearthstone card collection. I'll start it off with a riddle, and you try to figure out what card I'm talking about. First one to answer correctly picks a new card and makes the next riddle. Make it as difficult as you want, just not impossible :)

I’ll start with:

Alone I’m quite fearsome,

you better watch out,

but doubled I’m more than tripled,

and my gurgle - a mighty shout.

  • 1) Glow-Tron

    2) Shielded Minibot

    3) Target Dummy

    4) Acolyte of Pain

    5) Steel Rager (you put in an extra “e” btw)

    so Acolyte of Pain?

  • DestroyerR, you're very close, think about the fact that Dr Boom is trying to combine these minions and what the key thing is about each of them.

Also me being very stupid has just realised that I got the wrong card for number 4, it should have been Acolyte of Agony.

  • Zilliax then

  • Yes :)

  • Siamat?

I went through my mech collection and the only character I'm fairly sure on is Flying Machine for 'Grated Tummy'.

  • Live4vrRdieTryn, DestroyerR already solved it with Zilliax.

  • Yeah when I replied I didn't see the extra page. I was close at least XD

  • I have no idea how hard this will be, but let’s just try it:

    What day is it today?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No to both, though @R is getting close

  • Well done, @anchorm4n got it!

  • You're throwing pens? Please, keep it real!

You're talking scrolls, I'm talking steel.

    Your feeble pinpricks stand no chance;

Cause if we do a little dance,

You might have the upper hand ‐

But at what cost? Sorrow to no end!

So better stay silent, better stay at home

My aura wins, poor little gnome.

  • That's right, back to you again!

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Bruh

  • The only cryptid that’s actually unseeable!

  • Nope

  • Wrong. Hint: what’s the first creature that comes to mind when talking about cryptids? (at least going by the definition of “cryptid” on google)

  • None of those, but @NerdyMcNerd got the right cryptid

  • Nope.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Maybe we must take yeti stats and so... Circus Amalgam?

  • Icehowl is my next guess but I think we're missing something about "unseeable"...

  • Both wrong, @R got the right idea. I guess the word “unseeable” could be replaced by “elusive”, or “ uncapturable” (is that even a word?)

  • You got it!

  • My kind lacks a certain feature

Yet I am named after it

    Pain is a merciless teacher

You better transform me really quick

  • Nope

  • Negative

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • None of those.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Wrong again.

Hint: What kind of minion should better be transformed?

  • Howlfiend?

I'm certain that if you're not warlock, you'll want to transform it.

  • No, the hint was meant in a more general sense. Not a specific minion, but a minion type that usually makes more sense to be transformed than others.

  • No, but I think that is the best guess for the first two lines so far. Those are about the card's name. It isn't a transforming minion though, but one that should better be transformed.

  • Faceless Shambler? I mean... Crappy 4 drop if you're an Evolve Shaman.

  • Nope. It isn't a faceless minion, I just wanted to acknowledge that DestroyerR tried to make something out of the first two lines.

You're all on the wrong track about the last two lines, though. Which minion type would you rather transform before you kill it? You've got to think that one from the opponent'ts point of view.

  • That's fitting the second part in the intended way very well, but not yet the correct card.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No. It's a Deathrattle and a Class card, but not from Hunter.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • What a doozy, searched all the deathrattle cards and nothing seems to fit in eloquently.

    Has Rattlegore been guessed?

  • None of those, but R got quite close! We're talking about a "regular" Deathrattle minion though.

Next hint: "Pain" is another key word.

  • ....Test Subject, because flavor wise it's being transformed and going through pain?

  • Good idea, but no. The pain thing is meant in a more literal way, think from your opponent's point of view again.

    • Quote From R

      [Hearthstone Card (Lepergnome) Not Found]

Nope. But if you combine your last two guesses, you've got it.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Deathrattle card

    Class card, but not Hunter

Deals some damage or destroy a thing

That's all right? Or it's neutral? It's weapon?

    Fatespinner

  • That's all correct. Maybe you have to check your card search filters ;-)

Edit: Sorry, forgot to answer your guess. It's not Fatespinner and it's no Weapon.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No to Charged Hammer.

Last major hint: I can't really tell if it is a good card.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No. I can tell Anomalus isn't a good card because I have tried it out.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Negative, Lord Barov has been tried and is widely considered a good card. (I'm not mocking you here, just trying to push you into the right direction!)

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Death's Bite, Blood Razor... Weapons don't quite fit to "transform". There is no other collectible non-neutral-or-hunter deathrattle cards that deal some damage with deathrattle.

I was busy and didn't notice what you said it's not a weapon.

    I dunno. Obsidian Statue?

  • Man, I really don't know how to help you any more without spelling it out.

I told you I don't know if the card is good because I haven't tried it out yet. Maybe I should say I couldn't try it out yet. And I told you to check your card search settings. Now what could that mean?

  • That's right Fedrion, you're next! Sorry R :/

  • A little pup can show up

A little pup can grow up

A little pup can blow up

    They can do so much

    They hatch, explode, but oh...

They are silent until I call

I'm the master, but that's all!

  • Nithogg

  • Close!

    But nope.

    Show Spoiler
    Last line is important.

  • Arghhhh why didn't I think to check new cards.... I had done the rabbit last expansion :_ (

    Wyrm Weaver?

  • Nope

    Show Spoiler
Closer, but farther in some way

    • AnonymousUser's Avatar
      Quote From anchorm4n

      Now what could that mean?

New core set cards are not collectible. I looked only on collectible cards (To exclude tokens and cards from other game modes.). In another case, I would immediately give the correct answer after Leper Gnome. (:

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope

    The farthest yet. Close anyway.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope, same as before.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Wrong.

Your first two guesses were closer to the answer.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Dr. Boom itself?

  • Dr. Boom?

  • Sorry, all wrong.

    Show Spoiler
    The closest yet was Nithogg

  • Nope.

    Show Spoiler
He's a master, but not in title.

  • Nope.

    Show Spoiler
Closer in flavor. Randomness plays a role, but can be manipulated.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope.

    Show Spoiler
Very fitting, but no, and is closer than Nithogg.

  • Vectus

  • Yup yup! The master of an experiment in corrupting a dragonflight with the scourge.

  • Riiiing riiiing.... Collect call from the riddle game to Destroyerr

  • Don’t have any riddle ready, so whoever has one is welcome to post it

In the past there were two twins.
Now, nothing can we do with this.
Also there was one superfast guy.
    Everyone talked about his warcry.

There is a traces from their steps.
The shadow is placed before them.
He's not teach them, but he preps.
Write here who has gathered them.

  • Animated Broomstick? The first part alludes to Leeroy Jenkins that much I'm sure of.

  • I was thinking Grom. I have no idea though

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

No to both. Each 2 lines is a card. Combined they lead to deck that builded around last card.

  • C'Thun?

The twins being Twin Emperor Vek'lor.

The superfast could be Disciple of C'Thun, which was a really good card for the deck.

After that, I'm at a loss.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Nothing is right.

1 - Think about why "nothing can we do with this".

2 - Superfast is key. We also "can do nothing with this" now.

3 - Third card name is hidden in text.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Ok, Sonya is closer...

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Warning. Big hint.

    Show Spoiler

First card summon a minion, it was was nerfed (1-2 line)

Second card is "fastest" card in game and it also was nerfed (3-4 line)

Third card name is hidden in text (5-6 line)

The deck was built around the fourth card and included all these cards

  • Smells like Miracle Rogue. Maybe Gadgetzan Auctioneer?

  • Yeah, Shadowstep for 2 and Leeroy Jenkins for 3... I don't know about the twins though. Edwin VanCleef?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Smells like a shot in the dark.

Yeah, it's rogue deck. But not this.

    • AnonymousUser's Avatar
      Quote From anchorm4n

Yeah, Shadowstep for 2 and Leeroy Jenkins for 3... I don't know about the twins though. Edwin VanCleef?

1 - c'mon, how long can this go on? it's nerfed minion that summon a minion

2 - it's close to leeroy, but he's not in charge now

      3 - yes, it's a shadowstep

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Yup. Fastest one is Patches the Pirate.

  • I'm some kind of masochist

    With extensions

I'm featured on nigh every list

    Since the Dragon expansion

I don't know if things will stay that way

    After rotation

Facing my class, better add me anyway

    To the equation

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • None of those. R got the right class though.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope, but that was the closest you can get without being right. You see, Risky Skipper is the sadist part in this relationship, but you're looking for the masochist.

  • That sums it up to Armorsmith, right?

  • That's correct!

  • On the frozen fields

    On a misty night

A fair knight comes to play

    Even though it's not mundane

It's quite balanced I have to say

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No, but on the right track.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No to both, Mysterious Challenger is closer.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No to both.

    @Live4vrRdieTryn is still closer.

    Show Spoiler
Think about a balanced card that doesn't see play and honestly doesn't fit the class it's in.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No, although that doesn't fit paladin.

    Show Spoiler
    It's not a paladin card.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope

Your first guesses were more on point but in the wrong expansion.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Knight of the Wild

The first 3 lines are important? Especially the first two.

  • No, and yes, I would say the whole riddle gives away the card and the first two lines are a nod to...

    Expansion and card artwork.

  • Nope.

  • Nope

    Big hint:

Can be a not-so-balanced card with a coin.

  • Nope.

    Another big hint:

    Think of a contestant.

    Bigger hint:

    Why a knight wouldn't fit a class?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Because it's not a class card at all?

    Silver Hand Knight

  • Both wrong.

    Hint:

    Show Spoiler
It's from an inspiring set, but it's not an inspiring card at all.

    Bigger hint:

    Show Spoiler
Classes have their own mechanics, which one benefits more from coins?.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Shado-Pan Rider it is!

On the frozen fields      -   The nod to Northrend

On a misty night           -    The nod to the artwork.

A fair knight comes to play     -    A nod to it being a knight of sorts.

Even though it's not mundane         -       Nod to it being on a class not known for knighthood.

It's quite balanced I have to say         -    Vainilla stats if comboed after turn 5.

  • I Smite Your Little Friend Now.

    Nature's Fury Spreads.

If That Does in Your Pal

Let's Do it All Over Again.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Neither

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Not a minion.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Good guess but not it

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Not even close (I meant good guess as in it fits but it isn't close)

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope. The card has to do with a rarely seen mechanic that happens when the requirement is fulfilled.

Your guesses all fit except for line 2: Nature's Fury Spreads

  • Desert Spear

That's the closest to nature spreading IMO.

  • Good guess but it isn't that one.

  • Not in Hunter's arsenal

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • It's a weapon

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No sir

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • None of these are the weapon. I guess keep hacking at it and you'll get it. Sorry, maybe the interaction isn't known.

It's a weapon that can attack more than once a turn if something happens.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    whut (:

    Blade Dance

  • Just search weapon press crafting bc a lot of ppl wouldn't want to own this card and figure out which one it is XD

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • There are 3 weapons that can attack again.

Sul'thraze which was pointed out by @R

Warglaives of Azzinoth, pointed out by @anchorm4n

And an Warsong Axe which is a book of heroes card (I think was used in a fight against Garrosh.)

So it's one of these or idk.

  • This one can attack multiple times too if everything goes right. Should I just say it?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Fool's Bane?

Edit: wait I'm stupid, I hadn't seen that page 100 existed.

  • Happy 100th page everyone!

Also this has gone on too long... the card was The Runespear because of its interaction when you cast a spell with it if it slays the target you can actually attack again with it. The "Nature's Fury Spreads" line was a nod to lightning spells being nature magic now.

    Take it away, anyone!

  • I'm guessing you're asking about lightning spells?

Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning (Rank 1) and Lightning Storm all have the nature school on the HS website.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Ok, fast riddle:

    Healthy Giant

  • Clockwork Giant?

EDIT: i hope i was right about runespear, ive never seen it happen but have heard that it does... if i messed up i apologize

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Not even close. Think in the opposite way.

  • Ragnaros, Lightlord?

    Has giant stats and heals.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Not even close. Think in the opposite way. [2]

  • Leper Gnome?

Probably as far away from a healthy giant as you can get.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Yup!

  • Possibly really easy riddle but here goes:
