[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

I found the original one pretty neat, let’s see how this goes...

To quote the legendary Riosix:

It's a treasure hunt using your Hearthstone card collection. I'll start it off with a riddle, and you try to figure out what card I'm talking about. First one to answer correctly picks a new card and makes the next riddle. Make it as difficult as you want, just not impossible :)

I’ll start with:

Alone I’m quite fearsome,

you better watch out,

but doubled I’m more than tripled,

and my gurgle - a mighty shout.

This cards can be into the battlefield and be kinda invisible but its another keyword.

  • .......Snake Trap?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

On the right track. The last line is the key.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Yup

  • How is counterspell "we"?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

The first three lines are about the secret keyword. And the last line is counterspell itself.

  • I'm a rather rare sight

    despite of my tremendous might

    I'm a quick, protective pal

no one can tell if guy or gal

For this reason I'm not a cruel.
But if you spend with me hour
I will make you look like a fool.

Okay. It is difficult to give a hint without spoiling  the riddle. The possibilities of this card are limited, but also in some extent are not limited. The last two lines refer to the name of the card. The first two - to its effect.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Not even close. This card is unlimited in other way. Also you understand that you found answer when name of the card will fit last two lines.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Nope, its not a minion.

  • Open the Waygate? Could also mean Time Warp, but since it's technically the same card, but one is the uncollectible quest reward, I go with the former.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Nope

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Nope. It can be used unlimited (but it has limit) in a single turn and also can be used in the following turns.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Nope. Final hint:

    Show Spoiler
    It's a weapon.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Yup

  • By changing just the middle,

the one before answers the riddle!

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

I have no clue. The Nameless One?

  • Nope

  • Geosculptor Yip! (Because you're talking about the post before yours)

  • Spot on! I think you’re starting to get used to my meta riddles lol

  • It's a warm summer day and you're wandering along a smooth path in Lorien. You look up towards the sky. What do you see?

There's a redhead living in Washington in a house covered in ivy. What's her name?

@DestroyerR: Please don't feel bad because I was able to solve it quickly. I enjoy your riddles very much and if it was within my powers, I'd instantly award you with a fitting forum title like Supreme Quizzmaster or some such.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    1 - Trees, forest?

    2 - Have no idea.

    Forest Warden Omu

  • Trees is closer to the first part, but you need to be more specific.

    No to Omu

  • Brave Archer? Just for the redhead part, but I have something else in mind that I'm doubtful about, so I'm going with this one first.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Maybe first part is Shire so the answer is Shirvallah, the Tiger?

  • @anchorm4n no worries mate :)

for the riddle, I have no idea. Maybe something with the iconic LotR eagles for the first part?

  • No to all of those. R got the closest so far with their guess of "trees" for part 1.

I'm happy it did not end up too easy, but I'm fairly confident you'll get it soon. Hint: Both parts are entirely non-Hearthstone related, but if you put together the answers to the questions, you'll get a card.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Can you give a lil hint for 2nd part? I guess we are all have no idea about it.

  • Sure. I'll give you three of them, I don't want to frustrate you.

    First hint

    Show Spoiler
The person you are looking for is not actually living in Washington (the city), "Washington" is a code for something else. You can solve this by trying to find a substitue for Washington (the city).

    Second hint

    Show Spoiler
You're only looking for the redhead's first name.

    Third hint

    Show Spoiler
There's a major keyword for the answer to question 2 planted in the "Washington"-sentence.

  • Poison Seeds?

The redhead is Poison Ivy, from DC comics, that much I'm almost sure now.

The first part though... I was certain that it had to do with dragons, now I know it doesn't.

  • Poison Ivy is correct Fedrion! I did pose the two questions in the correct order though (so Poison comes second). Think some more about R's guess about the trees but with more detail...

  • Well, Silverleaf Poison comes to mind, just for having poison in the name and the detail about trees are the leaves.

  • That's correct! The trees in Lorien are Mallorn (plural Mellyrn). "Mellyrn were similar to beech trees in that their bark was smooth and silver-grey, but their leaves, which were green above and silver beneath..."

  • Washington and Ivy sold it for me, the Lorien part kept me thinking about elves and dragons, should have thought about the silver/grey forest, really nice mishmash of universes!

    Now, not to hard.

    I'm big and I'm bad

    I'm a sucker for stats

You don't play me on an empty board

    My effect is pure control

  • Pretty Big Flavor Fail Here.

    Especially These Jerks.

    Outposts They're Just Not Near.

    Never ( ironically ) Works.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope

  • Let me rephrase it:

    Pretty Big Flavor Fail Here.

    Especially These Jerks.

    Outposts They're Just Not Near

    [because they] Never Work.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Anything?

  • Peon?

  • aposteljoe takes it! It really bugs me they didnt synergize this card with the outposts... wouldve been fun.

Also PEON was spelled vertically down like my AL'AR riddle XD

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

There is some backstory about these cards?

  • Peons are the classic worker units from Warcraft that built the outposts. It's ironic that they generate random spells and not "frenzy: give all outposts +1/+1 wherever they are" or something.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Ahh, got it. I didn't played WC with English locale.

  • Uff, if I understand correctly I have to make a new riddle now. I'm way better at guessing, than at creating a question. But I'll try my very best. Could be to simple tough...

My pen is twice as big

    and costs twice as much

    If you don't cheat

    I'll suck out your blood.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No, not Hakkar.

  • Nice guess, but still not right. What is considered "cheating" in Hearthstone?

  • Vulgar Homunculus?

My pen is twice as big - deals 2 damage as opposed to Pen Flinger’s 1

Costs twice as much - costs 2

If you don’t cheat - “cheat” as in summoning it without playing it

I’ll suck out your blood - it damages you

  • Nice guess! Still wrong sadly. I realized that I'm not good at making this. "you" refers to the opponent. I should've probably used singular "they" instead...

Pen Flinger has a second effect. That may have have to do sth. with sucking out

    • Correct answer by Live4vrRdieTryn. A 2 Mana 2/2 that gets back to hand if you play sth. out. And if they aren't cheating (aka play taunts) it triggers Lifesteal.

    Illidan Stormrage

    Why it's "BADCARDNAME"?

  • Usually its when a card is spelt rong. Nope not him

Maybe the card doesnt exist anymore on OoC's database

Illidan Stormrage nvm it works for me, same spelling. maybe you hit runeterra card?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

I dunno what it was. But it work after rewrite. Maybe they already return the card back into database.

About the riddle. It's not one of HoF'ed classic cards that was replaced with another one?

  • Has nothing to do with any of that. Card is in wild and wasn't affected by all the recent changes. The event where it became "in the spotlight" then replaced was like a year ago.

  • Kun the Forgotten King?

I mean, it did shine before, but it shine brighter in the Doom in the Tomb event.

  • Show Spoiler
    it's a mech!

  • Mecha'thun then! In warrior if I'm correct.

  • No sir.

  • Cobalt Guardian!

It's an old card that was never played but then was very popular in Battlegrounds until it was replaced by Deflect-o-Bot.

  • KANSAS clicks the ruby slippers together and takes it home!

  • You know what? Rhyming is hard and I'm not going to put a lot of effort into it.

I am swift to give and swift to take,

    Demons are my preferred taste,

I could once slay heroes and destroy the fel,

Until a little man made me too powerful

  • Dorothee? gotta be since your name is KANSAS.

if not (fairly sure it is), i'll go with Sacrificial Pact cuz damn uuuuuu zeppy!!!!!!!!

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • You got it Live4vrRideTryn! It was Sacrificial Pact.

  • woot i'm on a roll! bit of writer block so here you go, good luck

toren moniccar -> upausetruffy neybir -> thiz iz difikult too doo.

It was Counterspell (Cow + Enter + Spell). Since it wasn't popular, i'll try one of my usual ones:

Quite a Cost for Such a Mess:

Go Stunted then More to Lose.

All to Pay for... So Much Less.

Hey, If  'Luck Carries, Suck's Refused'!

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope

  • It's an early game card

  • Nope much earlier

  • Genn Greymane? Its effect triggers at the start of the game, I guess that counts for early game. And it makes you pay "much less" for your Hero Power. The "stunted" part might be about the deck building restriction.

  • Good guess but nope. Older card than that. Inspect the last line carefully.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • It's in Warlock but not Felstalker

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope. Answer is in the riddle, early game card, Warlock, sucky card, super not worth its cost, also was a card I and many looked forward to and it tanked.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Very surprised no one has gotten it

  • No but it is a spell

  • Lakkari Sacrifice. "If luck carries" - well played!

  • if "Luck Carries, Suck's Refused"

          Lak    kari      Sac    rifice

Anchor drops it in the water and lands the ship! Take it away

  • Probably too easy but I don't have much time for something better... Sorry!

I may not be overly strong

But I'm better than Jaina's pings

We can play a few rounds of pong

If you provide those lonely things

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • None of those.

  • Nope. Looks like it isn't that easy after all. I'll give a hint soon if nobody guesses it.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • [Hearthstone Card (infectious sporling) Not Found]?

  • None of those. Hint: the last line means that you have to play synergizing cards to unleash the full potential of the card you're looking for.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No. It has nothing to do with Jaina's hero Power, it's no Mage card and no Neutral card. I justed used that to express that the card deals not much, but more than 1 damage and to take advantage of the ping pong pun.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • No. It has to do with a repetitive effect, but you need other cards for it (last line).

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Right class, wrong card. And it's no spell.

  • That's the second time that card has got me a win this month! Just seeing this now, too tired to come up with one now, will tmrw

  • These are the Two That are Coming for Thee.

Fear Not my Hands of Brawn or Elbows of Power!

I Needn't my Ankles of Physique or Knees of Energy!

Nor is it my Shoulders of Sturdiness to Make You Cower.

  • Archmage Antonidas? Just for the feeling of an Exodia reference.

  • Not Tony

  • Nope. You're thinking too big, Fedrion. The answer is a cheeky facepalm kind of thang.

    Standard card!

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • "of" is in the card's name but not that

  • Reliquary of Souls? I mean it's a two-in-one card and it's just a head, has no "body" in either form.

  • Nope! One of you will get it and the rest of you will roll your eyes and say, why didn't I think of that card...

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Sorry, no

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Only one skull in the human body. Two of what is being looked for here

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Good guess but the body part is still singular. It isn't spelled exactly right for the context....

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Because context is blurred... Eye of the Storm?

  • It's in standard

  • It's got an actual 'of' in the name. I want to give a hint but have already so many and feel that not all the usual players have had a chance to see it yet.

Brawn... Power... Physique... Energy... Sturdiness... ________....

  • What really confuses me are the human body parts, even if they're not spelled correctly. The only thing that comes remotely close is Druid of the Claw. Is that it?

  • There's also Druid of the Plains.

  • Warrior card

  • Oman takes it! Good job. Everyone else was this guy on the right XDXDXD
  • Cool! Well, here goes nothing.

So far there are only two such cards here.
Both don't shine like a gold and pretty old.
Looking for them, but don't know where?
There are where the stones and old ones.

  • Baku and Genn?

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Nope

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Yup!

  • Wait that means I have to make a riddle right?

Ok, let me try, i think this one is easy:

    They plunder and bring death,

but in the jungle no chance they stand,

    here they're nothing more,

but a feast to my sort.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope.

I'm also not sure if the last word 'sort' is correct. I meant 'kind' or 'species', just for clarification.

  • Yes it is.

The first line is about pirates, and the last is about the card that feed on them. Second line was to indicate that the card was in Un'goro, and the third line was useless.

Maybe I will try to do something a bit harder next time.

  • It's tricky making a riddle just hard enough. I like to err on making it a little harder because you can always give out hints. This one should be pretty easy though:

Unless You Want to See Unwellboars and Sicker Crocolisks...

Explosive Diarrhea Sheep or Constipated Beetles...

Barfus, King Puke-la,The Hurler Below and Hadranauseous...

Queesy Tunnelers or Toads of the Pile then...

I was thinking that "unless you want" means "if you want". My bad...

  • Ok here goes:

    What I have in bold,

    Better play 'round it.

  • That can only be Counterspell

  • Correct!

  • EVIL Really Ought to Give me a Peaky.

  • Somebody call the feds cuz Fedrion has stolen the answer!

  • Nice!

    Ok:

Here I go again on my own.

Buff me up, if not I'm gonna blow.

Like the Shifter you've never seen me before.

And I play with your mind, I'm just a waste of time.

At least I've never seen this card played before, but it's there, it exists, why? Dunno.

  • Nope.

    Good call tho.

  • Nope. It's a bad and not played card but not Gurubashi Offering tier lol.

  • Horrendous Growth?

Maybe because we never see the actual card since it's corrupted art is different

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Neither of those. Maybe it is Blubber tier.

    On point on rarity tho.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar
  • Nope.

After playing a few games with it, yeah, Blubber Baron tier it is. It was funny that all 5 games the enemy emoted something when I played it, evidently everyone forgot this card existed. Also...

it was instantly killed even tho it SHOULDN'T be easy to kill.
