Here is an updated version for my previous deck, called: Reno's Quest. I was going to just update it, i decided it was just easier to rebuild it from the ground up.
The Wincon & Playstyle.
This deck aims to generate A LOT of VALUE. We may not have as much draw, but who needs draw when you can fill your hand! We close out the game by trowing lots of spells at our opponents face, and we can reduce our opponents health with Alexstrasza.
This deck is by all means a control deck, and it should be a strong matchup against aggro decks. And against control decks, we can (Hopefully) outvalue them and kill them with Alexstrasza + lotsa spells to face. OR naturlly we can also kill them with the Giant and other minions.
It was REALLY HARD to decide which cards made the cut.. Mage has so many good cards. (Honestly.. if only "Pure/Mage" mage was a thing, just like the new "Pure/Paladin" Paladin archetype....)
Here are a couple of replacement options
-1 Raid the Sky Temple +1 Dragon. More dragons are really helpfull in this deck.
-1 Vulpera Scoundrel. +1 Zilliax. Zilliax is really good in most decks. Helps against aggro and heals your face a bit. Just always nice.
Other Cards that you could slot in:
Archmage Vargoth. Vargoth is pretty good in any deck with lots of spells. Only reason Zilliax didn't make the cut, is because i honestly forgot about it, and i don't know what to replace it for. (Of course you can add this instead of Raid the Sky Temple if you don't have the quest.)
Frizz Kindleroost. Discount is pretty nice. Nice way to cheat out some mana, and get to something like Dragonqueen Alexstrasza out sooner. However i wouldn't mulligan for it against aggro. Just something to keep in mind.
If anyone has a idea to improve the deck, please let me know!
This deck is pretty costly and needs a lot of legendaries. i suggest that you don't craft any of these legendaries unless YOUR SURE that you want to use these. (Also don't craft any "Risky" DoD Legendaries until the meta is settled. Update: IF you want to play highlander decks, CRAFT Dragonqueen Alexstrasza!!!! This is a solid card!!! Still waiting for the meta to fully settle, even tho it looks like shamanstone all over again... But hey nerfs are going to get announced next week, and they confirmed shaman nerfs.... YEAAAAAAAH)
Edit: As Captzoey mentioned, the deck had 2 copys of Raid the Sky Temple... As mentioned below the deck now has a Questing Explorer. Also did some more testing with Conjurer's Calling And can now recommend NOT including it in this deck!!! It generally just sits in hand and is just a waste of a spot!

Wait it has Raid the Sky Temple twice? i Didn't even notice that!
Yeah Questing Explorer is a good addition to the deck! Nice early game card and some draw is always good. I will update the deck to include it, and to remove the duplicate quest card. :)
