Hit Diamond with this on a lowly x9 multiplier in the May 2021 Season! It's one of my favorite decks I've played since launch and it's the most fun I've had in Hearthstone since the first few days of Barrens. The overall gist of it is to get down your early minions & secrets to power you through the early game, Kazakus/5 Golem/Moonfang to bridge you to the late game, and just finish off your opponent with the Dragons. You have Yogg/Prime (& the ability to generate more primes) as your emergency red button.
Overall, it felt pretty favored against anything slower and could hold it's own against decks like Paladin & Warrior. The Portals & Drakes were what kept me favored vs warlock & priest, they'd have to overextend to remove any boards & I'd still be loaded with heavy hitters. Holding so many larger minions means that Priests get very little value from Illucia (but it's always smart to read for her).
The absolute worst match up is Face Hunter. Luckily, face hunter has greatly dwindled this season so I only ran into 3 during my climb.
Warrior is the 50/50 match up. It's important to maximize cram sessions and to use your devolving missiles wisely while still maintaining a strong board presence when possible.
Odd Inclusions:
Nozdormu - Simply put, I'm achievement hunting.
Moonfang - I think Moonfang is a pretty underused card at the moment. On curve he's so powerful in this metagame right now, I'm actively taking down multiple mid game threats with him.
Kazakus - One of the first questions I got on this deck was why I wasn't using fireballs when I have spell damage. It's a bad answer, but I'm just bored of fireball. Kazakus is not only new, but flexible and powerful. I felt like I won most games that I got Kazakus down on 4.
Cards I May Add:
Jandice - I most likely will be subbing in Jandice soon for Sayge. She works better for the kind of game style we're playing, and I already have enough cycle with cram sessions/aranologist that He feels pretty redundant. There have been a few games where dropping a 5/5 draw 3 (or 4) was fine, but Jandice is most likely far better.
I won't have a lot of time this month to push for legend, but if I do clinch it, I'll come back and add a lot more details.
