- You can purchase it for 500 Gold.
- The card back is also available for real money. (2.99 Euros, $2.99 USD)

I'd like to sell mine for 3 euro
I don't get it. Why purchasing a card back? Why this one specifically?
It's one of the community's favourites from the early days when there was a small enough number of card backs that they felt more significant, even if they weren't any better than newer ones. As such there's a decent amount of nostalgia for a lot of the card backs from the first year or so, and there's a decent number of players who will have started early enough to see these being used a lot but just too late to get them for themselves.
There are also players who could have got them but missed them for other reasons. E.g. not feeling their collections were good enough to play in ranked instead of casual, which in hindsight is silly since you couldn't lose stars between ranks 25 and 20, and you only had to reach 20 to get the card back, but whatever.
In short: some players regret missing it, and optional cosmetic purchases don't harm anyone so why not?
And that's easy money for Blizzard, so... let's go!
I have to say I have not changed the card back I use since I got my first one, Ragnaros. Only in a few thematic decks.
My default cardback has been “random” since they introduced it, but I do enjoy picking an appropriate card back for each hero’s decks. Nemsy likes Sparkles so I think she’ll like Cupcake too!
One step closer to the card back of my dreams...
I still remember the last day of September 2014 where I tried to get to rank 20 and my card collection was junk and I didn't know any good decks... I remember frantically trying to get just one more win the last minutes of the last day... I failed. So now there is only ONE card back that I have wanted since the day I started playing: PIRATES!
For some reason it's 2.99 GBP which is 3.36 EUR or 4 USD.
Not that I was going to buy it but I thought was noteworthy.
Well the reason is Blizzard making more money, apart from that with EUR this has always been the case. Because in Blizz-Land USD = EUR, meaning a player from (mainland) Europe usually pays a ~15% premium compared to a US player. For some currencies it might even be worse, I don't know. Has annoyed me for a time and kept me from a couple of purchases.
Bliz: "Yeah um so for three bucks you can have a card back with frosting"
Me:
It won’t let me buy it. *Checks Collection Manager* Oh wait!
Your card back...so DELICIOUS
Finally
Every time I try to make this card back a favorite (I earned it), It reverts back to random. Anyone else having this issue?
Yep, i have the same issue also with the Naxrammas cardback, i reported it in the forums but it seems that blizzard dont take care about it.
