I don't know why you are so much down-voted here. I would also love pack-opening format. They said it will be something for Arena-gameplay fans... I just don't know how it can be "using player collection".
Technically, it's possible, they can do many things.
My quick example - choose 3 legendaries from your collection. Then you open X amount of packs and build a deck. It's your decision, whether you build around your legendaries, or just decide to build a deck without them... And then you can play either Arena-like (until X wins) or just, for example - month-long some sort of "Ranked" variation (they can add some spicy, different thing each month... 40 hp anyone?).
They said it is gonna be a mode using your own card collection
I still have my fingers crossed that the gamemode is a set rotation mode, where every few months a different combination of card sets is legal. Like how Arena used to be. They did say that the new gamemode would require your card collection.
They already confirmed that its not the case
Still pretty nervous about the battle pass business after that trial balloon a while ago. Hoping that what is revealed next week alleviates the concerns.

wow chill, I think the guy had commented in a post before the announcement, predicting they will do expansion reveal and new game mode reveal on the same day. God damn, can't someone just be happy for their own reasons here without being downvoted? yall lawyers or somethin?
I'm kinda anxious and worried. They seriously can't make any mistakes here. This rework of the game's economy is its most important moment since release.

All seriousness I am excited for these announcements, people have been wanting a Dark Moon Faire themed expansion forever, the battle pass has gotten a lot of conversation and talk this year, and everyone likes to try out a new game mode (as long as it's free).
So yeah, I'm hyped for next Thursday

I bet it will be a new auto chess clone, oh wait, we already got that one..

3. Battlegrounds is by far the most unique Auto chess game out there.
The symbol for the new game mode has a shield and swords, so I'm speculating, mind you this is pure speculation, that the new game mode will have swords and a shield. It will be some kind of competition with shields, swords, and maybe both. I'm so excited!
This is going to be the best mode in the game, and whoever disagrees can eat Big FAT NARDS!

What's announced will shape Hearthstone for years to come. Fingers crossed they've got it right. If they have I will be so pleased. If not, um, yikes.

As a busy parent of 3, Hearthstone has been my #1 game for a few years now (pretty much my only game at this point - it's all I have time for). I play 90% of the time on mobile. I am excited to see what they have in store for us next week!
