We've got a round of Hearthstone hotfixes out this evening that focuses on bugs from this week's patch and improvements to Arena balance.
On the Arena side of things, the following balance changes have been made:
- Demon Hunters and Warlocks should have their winrates decreased.
- Druid, Hunter Mage, Rogue, and Shaman winrates should increase.
- The classes not mentioned have not received adjustments.
We've also got two other fixes out for known issues that were announced yesterday.
- Blizzard has fixed the visual bug with Corrupted minions.
- Issues with Duels Hero Powers and Treasures have been resolved.
You can read on for the full quote from Blizzard for further details on today's hotfixes.
Quote From Kerfluffle Hey everyone,
We’re currently in the process of deploying a hotfix that includes the following:
- Made several micro adjustments for card offering rates in Arena.
- Dev Comment: Updated the appearance rate of cards to ensure class balance remains close to the ideal 50% win-rate. Specifically, the win-rate of Demon Hunter and Warlock should now be decreased. The win-rate of Druid, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, and Shaman should now be increased. The win-rate of Paladin, Priest, and Warrior should be roughly the same as before.
- Fixed a visual bug that persisted on the board after a Corrupted minion had been destroyed or otherwise removed. We’re still working on a fix for cards that transform, such as Bandersmosh and Molten Blade.
- Fixed a bug that caused unlocked Duels Hero Power and Signature Treasure choices to revert to default Hero Powers and Signature Treasures after they’d been selected.
- 12/16 Update: Players will be compensated with 150 Gold for every Heroic Duels run impacted by this bug between the launch of the 19.2 patch and this hotfix. Compensation for this is planned to go out within the next two days.
This hotfix will take place on the server side, so you won’t need to download anything if you’ve already updated to the 19.2 patch.

I've not been able to select either DH or Lock in the past several times I've done Arena, so I don't know what's going on. All I do know is that I'm sick of always having to choose between three classes that I don't really play and trying to build a deck from those cards. I would like to see you be able to select from 3 random classes, or if you don't want any of them you are able to toss up another "X" amount of gold to mulligan or roulette 3 other random classes. I usually end up feeling like I am forced to play a class I'm not very comfortable with and just end up wasting 50 gold (because you at least get a pack for losing out totally), my time, and patience.
I think Arena is pretty much about playing with classes and cards you are not familiar or comfortable with. Not a fan of the reroll idea for gold to be honest
DH especially has been pretty crazy. Basically all of my DH runs were significantly above average and I managed a couple of easy 12 wins. Being offered DH already was a significant advantage in my mind. The class has lots of good cards but for me the most broken was Expendable Performers which won me the game many times.
People are still playing Arena?
Yea, I don't understand why would anyone play that mode.
Yes we are. (I didn't disliked your comment.)
I'm not judging. I was under the impression that it had been usurped by Duels, but if there are people paying to play Arena, more power to them. (If there was a free version I might play it too, but I've not enjoyed my free runs very much).
Arena and Duels are still a pretty different game modes, even tho the reward system might make you think otherwise.
You can't get the rewards from duels like you can from arena, so people still play it and will probably always play it.
Why, of course! It is the best mode, after all.
Wow... That statement about Arena balance sounded incredibly lazy. They didn't even bother to mention the problematic cards whose appearance rates were decreased. It sounded like: "Hey guys! We are fixing Arena! What is changing? You can guess! Trust us, everything will be fine now!". Just... wow...
This is almost always how they announce Arena adjustments, and it's perfectly reasonable. They don't "owe" you detailed information, especially when it could give you an unfair advantage over opponents who don't read Hearthstone news sites.
Many people are paying a lot of money for this game, so asking for adjustment details is definitly not too much. Also there is no unfair advantage if this information is publicly available (people reading news is certainly not unfair)
They don't have a public database for all the card drop rates, so why would they release that information only for cards that are adjusted? Where's the logic in that?
Wait, do we have any idea what was causing DH's and Warlocks to have a higher than average winrate in Arena? This is a bit surprising of a hotfix (to me at least)
Maybe it was soul shard related cards? I don't really play arena so I have no idea if they're in the rotation but it seems likely
