I think this plague could be better like it would spread the poison though at adjacent and in front of the minion and it would kill them at the end of their turn
goes quite well with violet illusionist in wild?
you can also earn an extra charge if you play it on the same turn as vargoth (and attack and dont play another spell) - might be useful in long ass control match-ups.
While surely an interesting card, this is the clear example why calling "Plagues" a new mechanic is just pointless. The reason? Last year we had Weapons Project, a card that was part of a brand new mechanic, the "Projects". Both cards have the exact same mechanic, but they call them differently and both of them were considered by the team as brand new. Welp.
New tempo rogue including ooze. Turn 1 this card turn 2 ooze. Thats the only thing i see. Otherwise this card is really bad. Plus plagues should affect all minions on the board? Inconsistencies all already here
Weapons project reprint, well played Blizz, so borring and not a Plague at all.
How is this a board clear? Did they forget what they said about their own mechanic or when they said they changed it late they meant less than a week ago
I had high hopes for this, lol.
Should have been called Plague Project. And it is 3 expansions late.
Team 5 kinda forgot about this card and only now it releases it
Not exactly what I expected. But at least we know now the progress with Tavern Brawl.
"Plagues are powerful destructive cards that affect the entire board"
okay then
This is a fake quote though. All the Hearthstone team said was that Plague are powerful cards that negatively affect both players.
Here's the actual quote then, from the reveal post (https://outof.cards/hearthstone/157-new-hearthstone-expansion-revealed-saviors-of-uldum-all-revealed-cards)
Why are you replying with an article written by outofcards ? As I said, the actual Hearthstone team NEVER said this. You are mistaken.
Then where did the information come from? Although I did just rewatch the initial reveal and they just say devastating effect that affects both players
Weapons Project + Harrison Jones exists already, but is hardly seen in the meta.
It will be no different for this card.
It is seen in the meta though control warrior runs it currently.
Weapons project is 2 mana, and equips a vanilla weapon in a class which runs high value weapons like supercollider.
But yeah even if it sees play, probably will not be in tandem with harrison. The card is some pretty good value for a face deck or a flood aggro strategy, not really decks that want to play a combo like that on turn 6. Remains to see if these archetypes will gain viability
Wait, Plague cards weren't supposed to affect every minion on the board?
The devs said in the recent AMA that the rogue plague got changed in the final design stage to not violate the now supposedly more rigid class identities (where by 'now' I am assuming sets from SoU onward, but who knows). I imagine the previous version did affect all minions, but they changed it to do what rogues are meant to do instead, i.e. kill single minions.
I guess between the two weapons this provides all minions are possible targets for instant death, just not all at the same time. So with a bit of imagination you can make it fit the plague theme.
