Duels is freaking awful....

What a surprise dissapointment for me. I absolutely love dungeon runs and the thought of it going PvP blew me away. I was grinning ear to ear when it was announced.
I even went 12 wins first attempt with a cheesy deathrattle Paladin spamming that button. That was before the meta settled. Now everyone plays the exact same imba garbage like robots and your chances are determined more by champ select than by your skill at this game.
I'm really hoping the team that manages this game mode take a nod from the BG team and actually take care of this game during patches. The first one solved almost nothing and imho this mode is totally unplayable at the moment which is a shame.

This wasn't hard to predict.
Living like that.
Allowing players to build their decks, have powerful passives and treasures that are granted at random, and paywall certain important powerful starting treasures.
Its only a matter of time before the meta settles and all we see are the same decks over and over again.
The starting deck building shouldve followed the arena format, so its not technically possible to keep facing the most OP deck available while keeping, more or less, the same integrity of the duels format.
Totally agreeing. I'd rather draft 15 cards than pick them. Variance. Big fail, Bliz.

I mean... since when was Dungeon Run ever balanced? Some strategies have always been clearly better than others while others need much more specific treasures to get going. It's pretty much impossible to make it balanced and they're only making it worse by adding new things to the mode to keep it fresh. The only reason why Dungeon Runs is fun is because you don't get to experience the absolute bullshit you are doing to the AI like getting infinity'd or using the most OP treasures in the game which immediately swings the game heavily in your favor. Also because the opponents you fight are never the same thing twice in a row so each independent run doesn't feel stale.
Take my words with a grain of salt. I'm unranked and only play casuals lmao.
I wouldn't say that it's awful, but it definitely needs some work and fine tuning.
I hope they can balance it by putting some treasures into different buckets to prevent a few broken combos (like Cannibalism and the Swamp Creature one). I also hope they ban some more cards. I'm sick and tired of facing C'Thun, the Shattered every second game.

It's completely new, so Blizzard at least has the opportunity to collect some data, see what works, and tweak accordingly.
I do have high hopes for it but it will need some pretty radical changes to become fun. Stale is the word. To win you just color by numbers looking for the key factors that win games. I love the attempt at making it creative but at the moment it just isn't.

Its the issues of Hearthstone compiled on top of each other. Netdecking and RNG. Too much RNG where your decisions don’t matter half the time and the way you build your deck doesn’t either
This ain't no place for a hero
