No ticket, and my run is still active. Oh well.
I hope this patch changes something regarding the power level of some hero powers and especially the treasures. Also, I hope there are more changes coming soon. It's so frustrating having to play with much weaker hero powers and treasures against the ridiculously strong ones. Extremely frustrating. Feels like you just have to give away your resources you need for the run to the other player. And on top of that, the numbers are way too high... 12 legendary, 125 and 150 different cards is a bit heavy... Duels is probably the premium mode then...
Bow of the Beast is a.... carrot?
Consider me educated now. They started to print a 1 durability weapon (Spiked Arms)

The gold entry fee plus needing Wild cards was enough of a paywall. Its insane to me that this became the most expensive mode in Hearthstone. I rarely, if ever, collect all the cards in a set but have never needed to in order to play Standard / Wild. I feel bad for the devs that spend time designing so many of these cards that hardly anyone will ever see. It's a fun mode but too random to devote the amount of time / money required to enjoy it.
Anybody knows if it's worth having an X-2 run going into the update? For a free ticket like you'd get one for having an ongoing arena run while the sets in arena rotate?
That hapens only when a set or more are Removed from rotation it never, happened, when adding sets, and it makes sense because your current deck remains valid
It's likely that you have an disadvantage tho, 'cause you have less cards to choose and also you could build an other archetype with the new cards, get other treasure, hero powers... and so on. :/
Some of these Hero Powers are WAY better than others.
Are the bad ones intentional traps, or are they trying to bring things into balance after the previous lopsided Duels meta?
Why are they so intent on reducing the number of players in the newest format? Heroic Duels are awesome but I'm getting 2 minute queue times whenever I get above 4 wins and that sucks. I'm facing the same player 2 games in a row at least every other run and that sucks. The 150 gold entry fee is a barrier to entry and the treasures being locked makes that worse.
I'm excited for the new stuff but the first thing that comes to mind is the negative. Blizz Please. :(
I couldn't agree more. I wish there was a more official "face of Duels" - as in a developer on the team - to discuss some of these concerns with and have them properly considered. It's too bad they are (obliviously? one would think) barring the entry and discouraging people so much.
Wait I am confused, why does priest have an extra treasure?
It's the token from the hero power.
After 6 wins, Green Tortollan Shell might becomes Blue Tortollan Shell?
These treasures and hero powers look really spicy, but holy hell, that paywall is HUGE.
To have the dual-class signature treasure, you'll need at least 1 of every non-legendary Darkmoon Faire card AND 9 legendaries on top of that. That's like a double preorder requirement.
While I agree that the paywall is stupid and generally to high, I just want to add that you forgot about the mini set. So with "only" 115 DMF cards you get the dual treasure if you buy the mini set (for "just" 2K gold) as they count as DMF cards, too. I just checked my achievements: I bought a big pre-order and I already own 125 unique cards. That means as soon as I buy the mini set I'll have all the requirements fullfilled.
So yeah, still high and stupid monetarization and they kind of push you into buying the mini set, but not as high as you thought in this case.
Question: if we leave a heroic duels run midway, will it automatically end it arena style? Because I have a 9-2 run saved up right now.
That's the assumption we're working with for now (it only makes sense to retire runs from Season 1 for balance reasons and a clean slate). Especially if it's being done for Arena with compensations. But there is no way to know for sure.
I'm wondering the same. I'm keeping my heroic duel at 8-2.
I've asked the same question before in one of the treads but it haven't got answered. I think we will find out the answer in two days..
IMHO, only the ranks will reset and the run should stay as it is. Most probably we will come across with opponents having new treasures and powers. Therefore, it will be more challenging for us..
That warrior HP looks really intersting to build around and the Priest one in combination with the mini set could enable an tempo/buff Priest. This Duels update looks like it will be so much fun.
