this new system...

Submitted 3 years, 11 months ago by

is now about 400 gold less, than "usual".

additional, new packs will come out, which means, one has to spend the earned gold midexpansion.

This is far worse than i expected. I was originally on the optimistic side.

Damn.

All calculations I have seen, including the calculations provided by the design team, show a reduction in gold for any player that plays less than 3 hours per day. It's disappointing that the bean counters at BlizzAvision chose to force casual players to pay more or fall behind/quit rather than launching a system that would bring players back and improve the player experience.

Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"

yeah it's terrible and they are silent towards the outrage.

Btw make sure to save your DMF packs from end of season rewards. The mini sets cards will be in them when it launches.

This can be remediate by not opening all the packs you’ve earned on day 1 of the expansion. I’m still sitting on 70 packs and it doesn’t feel great knowing that I have at least 1-2 legendary cards just waiting to be opened.

The best way to solve this (in my opinion) is simply by releasing the 35 cards for $20 while simultaneously adding the to the card pool of the associated packs.

But what do I know? I’m just a faceless voice with some common sense.

Conceptually it's fine. Offering players who don't play all that often or can't keep up with the day-to-day quests is a good direction. I just think it is very, very poorly implemented.

One point I disagree with entirely is the decision to make it not possible to get 10 gold from just winning 3 matches anymore.

Im happy the 10 gold for 3 wins is gone, that was a garbage system , nothing but horribleness. And at evry least the exp ssytem rewards wins and losses just as much.

and 30 WINS a day was incredbly stupid

I should have been more specific. I meant that there should be ways to get gold outside of the reward track / arena wins. Three wins nets you ten gold was a poor system, but I would like there to be something akin to it that allows you to stockpile gold past this very bad system.

i think if anythign should just increase gold from system/have more lvls with leser gold rewards but still same total exp so get gold faster.

Personaly I dont see need of gold outside the reward track as reward

I just see as this,if track rewards arent enough then should buff the rewards and not introduce more system(s).

In my opinion they should lower the xp per level. If you need two to three daily quests to get one level, that's far too much.

To be fair, i have to re-do this statement. I now have 11600 gold, which is far more, than i ever had before an expansion before, by just "normally" playing. (bought the tavern pass though).

Maybe the new system isn't as bad as we thought on beginning.

Yeah, the fact everyone seems to now be significantly ahead of where they were in previous expansions means the rewards track probably started out fine (about equal to the old system) even before the improvements were made. Certainly it would have been absolutely fine once the intended XP giving events are factored in, and there wasn't actually any sign that the devs had lied to us.

Really it was a failure of communication much more than anything else. I hope people look back at it all with a critical eye and recognise they overreacted. Some good came out of that overreaction, but that doesn't excuse how aggressive and inconsiderate some people became.
