HELLO! HELLO! HELLO!
We've got Sir Annoy-O back in the in-game shop just as expected. The only choice if you're playing a Mech Paladin deck or if you want to be a ladder nuisance with an incredible set of emotes, you can pick him up from now through April 26 in-game or on the Battle.net Shop for $10. If you want to buy this hero skin with gold, you can do so in-game only at a cost of 1500.
Best skin ever?

I won't lie, I'm pretty fond of my Prince Arthas coz I still remember to this day, all the blood, sweat and tears that went into getting him.
As for annoy-O, it's definitely the top meme/trolling hero portrait, but doesn't really have any special lines when matched against certain class like Arthas has
No way i am changing my Liadrin.
Saving up for Magni Bronzechad
And the Goblins card back is available! <3
Hello! I'm rather fond of how many voice variations of one line there are, which almost makes him more endearing than annoying. Especially once the rope starts burning.
But doubt I'll get there in time, only managed to find enough gold for Medivh with a day to spare. And if Magni gets offered sometime soon, that's another temptation.
Looks like it's not going to be possible to keep up with the cosmetics in the long run by only spending gold, unless somebody forgets packs alltogether or holds up a true infinite in Duels/Arena. In retrospect makes me glad for passing on Thunder King, Sylvanas, and various initial cardbacks.
I wonder if they'll eventually sell some of the older Pre-purchase skins that only came with the big bundles.
Most regular people just can'T justify buying a useless amount of packs for a simple skin so I figure after a long period those would be fair game to be sold at...probably this price.
When did the big pre-orders become a "useless amount of packs"? I fully understand people not having/wanting to to spend the money on it, but it's certainly not "useless".
useless if you've already saved up around 10000 gold for packs because everything missing afterwards can usually be crafted.
It just genuinely feels bad to purchase an extreme amount of packs for a large amount of money when all you really wanted was the skin.
I'm not sure quite how many packs you need to be able to craft everything with the dust from duplicates. I suspect it's somewhere around 200 packs these days.
On a good day a pack averages to 100 dust, but only if you are dusting epics and legendaries, which obviously won't be the case if you only open 100 packs. You also expect 5.5 legendaries from 100 packs (accounting for the 10-pack pity timer), and 4 were given out for free this time (Vol'jin + Rewards Track). So you are at 9.5 out of 25 from 100 packs in F2P. There's no way there's enough dust to craft the rest.
Beyond that it depends what type of player you are. If you don't care about owning half the set, then 100 packs will be fine. But if you want more or less all of it, then the big pre-order + saved gold pretty much does the job. Of course you could use up old dust reserves, but that's not something you'll be able to do every expansion unless you open ~200 packs.
Wherever you stand on this though, people can at least stop saying they don't get the full set from the pre-order(s), because they do once gold and dust are counted. The non-duplicate rules have made things so much better!
What's all this talk of value in a hero skin? It's either $10 or 1500 gold. That's it. It can't be traded. It doesn't help you win... Or does it? Helloooooooooo!
What? No one did it already? Well, then... Hello, Helooohoo, Hello?
I wish it was cheaper. As a f2p I can't see myself spending 1500 gold on a skin rather than packs, especially with mini sets being introduced. 1000 gold and I would buy him
Yeah, those gold prices are pretty steep, but at least the option is there.
Glad to see Sir Annoy-O back so more people can enjoy using him. 1500 Gold is honestly a fair price for him, considering he used to come with 20 packs and (i think) no card back. Also this is the first time in 2.5-3 years that Sir Annoy-O is back in the store, so that also makes Sir Annoy-O a lot more valueable. Anyways i hope other people can enjoy using Sir Annoy-O now, he has some very *HELLO HELLO HELLLOOOO!* emotes, and very pretty animations. You can complain about him having only "hello" as voicelines, but you can't disagree with the fact that Sir Annoy-O has pretty animations. (So pretty that on Mobile the intro animation might be a bit laggy for your phone lol.)
1500 for just the hero with no cardback? Scam.
This barrage of stuff available with gold is a brilliant move by Blizzard to drain the savings of collectors who don't spend $$$ to hopefully lead them to falling behind on packs and miniset and maybe lead them to $$$ purchases once more.
"an illegal way of making money, usually by tricking people: "
Blizzard makes you an offer and you will get exactly what you payed for. You can argue about the pricing, but it's per defintion not a scam.
They’re offering more optional things to buy if you want. The price is clear up front, as is the thing you are buying. If you don’t want it, the cost to simply play the game is the same or better than it was a year ago.
That’s less scammy than almost every store or contractor that I have to interact with.
Edit: I was looking forward to buying this for 1000 gold, but at 1500 I’ll pass. So I’m disappointed by the specifics of the offer as well. But that doesn’t mean I got ripped off. They offered something for sale, I said no, and life goes on.
Uhh, yes? That's the only reason they are selling it for gold at all. Cash will always be the better deal if you are willing to spend it. The f2p life isn't supposed to be easy.
Uhh maybe because Sir Annoy-O is a skin that hasn't been in the store for 2.5-3 years, and thus is a pretty rare skin? Also Sir Annoy-O doesn't even have an cardback, he instead came with 20 Witchwood Packs in the Hallow! Hallow! Bundle. So the price seems fair to me. Be happy that skins are now available with gold, imagine if all skins stayed behind a paywall, like in the past few years.
Why does this cost so much? This is the same cost as Medivh, which was a skin + card back.
