New achievements are being added in Patch 20.2 which track your overall progression in Hearthstone's rewards track. As you earn progress in each of the different tracks, your overall progress will get updated and allows you to unlock some really awesome-looking hero skins.
The new skins are all drawn with World of Warcraft's Tier 2 armor, so we've got the classic heavy-hitters of Judgement Paladin and Dragonstalker Hunter, which gives us a sweet reward for heavy progress.
Notes:
Rogue gets the Tier 5 armor set, Deathmantle, not Tier 2 since Valeera already uses Bloodfang armor.
Demon Hunters don't have a Tier 2 set so they have something different as well.
Not a whole lot was mentioned in the original patch notes though, just that we'd be seeing the addition of these portraits to the game. Celestalon later confirmed on Twitter how we're going to be getting them:
- Every 200 levels you get on the rewards track, overall, not in a single track, gets you a Tier 2 hero skin.
- These are retroactive so your leveling in the Darkmoon Faire pass counts.
So it looks like these are going to be quite rare to start considering the original base track gave us half as many levels as the new one. Do these new skins incentivize you to want to grind more Hearthstone?
Quote From Blizzard We’ve also added a new progression achievement, Tavern Regular, which tracks total reward track levels earned on your account across all reward tracks from each expansion. Completing each tier of this achievement will reward a choice from 1 of 10 new Hero skins, featuring upgraded armor!
Quote From Chadd Nervigg These are quite difficult to get, definitely prestige items. Every 200 total levels on reward tracks gets you a a choice from that pool of hero skins. (Accumulates across reward tracks, and does count retroactive progress on Darkmoon and Barrens reward tracks.)

OK but what do I do with my achievement points :)
You stop thinking of them as a currency and think of them as exactly what they are in 99% of other games - a total that showcases how much better you are at the game than other people =)
@Flux Problem is that you can't show off. I used to compare achievements in WoW to check when a friendly player started the game and what he achievesld during that time.
In HS there is not a option to check it directly, right? It is only for your own ego? So maybe Blizz can create cosmetic ropes to show to your opponent (hoping it does not increase roping)
You can post on Out of Cards that you have 11200 achievement points - not everything needs to be in-game. Talk to your friends instead of only looking at their stats and gear on leaderboards :D
Well, I have 12888 Points, since Annoy-O-tron didnt kill me this xpac :p.
I have a similarly annoying achievement total: 15999. If someone plays Annoy-o-Tron, they are more than welcome to get a free win with it. The trouble is, no one is playing annoy-o-tron, and even if they were the odds it gets the finishing blow are tiny :(
I actually managed to kill a bunch of people with it as an inclusion in my taunt druid!
So satisfying to know that you just fucked up their achievment points.
A worthy sacrifice ...
It's not so bad if the opponent messes up your points by killing you with Annoy-o-tron, since you can quite easily round it up by playing the card yourself. So really you've been doing them a service.
If the mini-sets releases a support card for Taunt-druid or the meta becomes very early aggro I can see our friend in every match:P
This doesn’t seem that difficult. I think I got to level 191 in the last expansion with about an hour of playing per day. Now that there are more levels with lower XP requirements, it will be easy to get more than 200 levels per expansion.
Getting all 10 heroes will take a while, yes. But all dedicated players will have the hero portrait for their preferred class right away. That’s a lot less prestige than the 500 win portrait.
Did you have xp boost? That many levels with just an hour a day seems insane
Yes, I did have the XP boost from the Tavern Pass. I completed all my quests, and usually rerolled 800 XP ones to get the 1000 XP ones. I didn’t try very hard to get achievement XP.
Completing your quests is the most important factor. Playing the game gives up to 400 XP per hour (500 with the boost), so an extra hour of play per day is worth at most 10 levels per month.
Not really. With doing all the dailies alone you should get to level 150. So 191 seems about right.
Im loving all this stuff but dear god please add a hero skin randomizer, you did it with card backs, do it with heroes too! I really have to many and its to much effort to go in and change it constaintly.
