Blizzard has added in a new card back to the game, the Gift of Elune card back, and it belongs to a new Puzzle! This is the second card back to be added this way, the first being the Mysteries of the Phoenix card back only a few months ago.
This card back is related to a new set of Stormwind gameplay achievements named "???" with the description "Burn my sight.".
- The first achievement has 1 criteria.
- The second achievement has 2 critera.
Completing these tasks will reward you with 300 and 500 experience respectively and the new card back. The card back internally is called "Card_Back_Jennifer_Brozek", which may name a concept artist who has previously taken part of a Hearthstone concept art challenge, though not for a card back. Don't go hounding them for answers though, that'd rude!

as funny as that would be it's also impossible since solving the riddle gives you the ?-card to initiate the puzzle. Can't get that if your hand is full.
Burn my sight? Sounds like demon Hunter to me, though mage also likes burning.
My guess is we'll need to play certain cards in a single turn like last time though I'm not sure which ones.
It's possible that this puzzle requires three classes and the last expansions puzzle will be the remaining two.
Last time I regularely checked reddit if someone made progress...I probably won't do it this time since they found a new topic to rage over.
I solved it already, it was very simple. I opened my wallet and spent $750 on Mercenaries bundles that I still don’t have a clue what they actually do, and this card back unlocked for me. Oh, you also have to buy all of the Battlegrounds cosmetics too, don’t forget that crucial step!
Seems like a P2W game to me. That's why I hate lootboxes.
Bro, its alright if you don't want to play Mercenaries! But if you don't yet understand what is in the bundles, there are resources to figure that out =)
No need to be upset about monetization in the game. That's been a very consistent thing over the years and should be expected within a card game.
Exactly! We are already being ripped off by Blizzard year round...
How do you feel ripped off by Blizzard? I'd love to know!
Look, if you want to continue licking the master's boot, go right ahead.
It sounds like you aren't have fun with the game anymore. If you don't want to be a part of Hearthstone anymore, why continue to talk about it? I've found so much freedom in completing cutting off games that I no longer care about with little to no regret - bound to dailies just in case I care in the future I will not.
I enjoy the game itself just fine, thank you. I just don't feel the need to praise a company that clearly has a very aggressive monetization scheme. And yes, HS has became more affordable over the years, but it's still ridiculously predatory. I know reporting on the game is your job, but you don't have to keep defending the multi million dollar corporation from mean comments on the internet.
There is no need to be a dick
I can be upset about it when they have ramped up the monetization at warp speed over the last year, while the actual quality and balance of the game has plummeted.
It was long overdue tbh. Players have been begging for more cosmetic options within the game and Blizzard finally got their shit together. Yeah, it seemed a bit extreme at the release rate but its not like we have to buy every single one of them - I'm certain not everyone likes every single thing that comes out. Most of it being cosmetics, no problemo!
The extra bundles we've seen, those aren't even needed by most players and if you do feel like buying it because it would be useful, you're getting card packs at a discount. I'd hardly call that a negative for anyone. We even have better pre-order bundles now.
Game quality? Hard disagree. Game balance? They've never reacted quicker to problems with balance than now. I'm no Blizzard shill, I'll give them hell when they deserve it, but this ain't it, chief. Had you have brought this up a couple of years ago, I'd have hard agreed that the game was in a pretty bad place. They went through a couple of really struggle bus years, if anything, we're in the golden age of the game. I don't know if it was the old blood not wanting to make major shakeups to their baby, but ever since Ben Lee joined the team as Game Director, the vision of Hearthstone has been improved and executed well. There also has never been a time when the developers have been so actively communicating with everyone which has been an incredibly welcome change.
I am expressing my own personal opinion, and you are free to disagree with it. I personally do not like the current state of the game. I do agree that they have been quicker to respond via nerfs and communication lately, but I do not personally enjoy playing 30 games and having 0 of them reach turn 10. That is my main gripe; each game feels predetermined as soon as I see what class my opponent is. Maybe this is recency bias, but I am currently having the least amount of fun I have had playing this game since I joined during TGT.
You are certainly allowed to express your own opinions, I hope I didn't make it seem like that wasn't the case!
This is one of those important reasons why its important to provide constructive feedback when saying things like the game quality has gone downhill. Letting people know why you feel that way can open up a completely different side of the discussion. For example, I agree that the pacing right now does not feel great and I there are things I miss about the older versions of the game; This is also why I do not play very much constructed right now. I also cannot believe that Blizzard consistently prints all this mana cheating insanity, only to go "lol guess we'll tone that down" a month later.
But, even with that opinion out of the way, objectively, Hearthstone is in its best place as far as game balance is concerned. Its not what I like about the game, but it is a much better environment than the one we had in years prior. The mini sets also keep things very interesting outside of the consistency in balance changes, which was so desired.
The game is not unbalanced. It's just balanced in a way that you don't like. And balance aside, it's hard to make an argument that the overall quality is bad.
If you don't like the product, stop buying it. But making a stink about the new monetization options is silly when the game is actually cheaper to play than it ever was before. It's still expensive, granted, but not because they added cosmetics. In fact, the more money they make from cosmetics, the more wiggle room they have to cut us breaks on cards.
Do you even care about cosmetics? They just generatie extra value from whales.
Pre-orders contains more items then previous years for the same price. So I dont know why you should be upset.
Because it is insulting that they push out $20 USD bundles every other week now, but patronize the player base with weak nerfs. I’ve invested a lot of time and money into this game, and it feels pretty awful that it is not even remotely fun to play in its current state
What's so wrong about publishing a bunch of bundles? No one forces you to buy them, and more options are always better than less.
