who else thinks there should be a 'kobold' tribe

I dont know about you guys, but I love kobolds, not just in hearthstone, but in dungeons and dragons as well. I just think they are a neat race and I would love to play a kobold themed deck in hearthstone. but the problem is that if this were to ever happen, it would mean that we would need another expansion featuring kobolds. and there are so many other races to explore, for example, touren, or pandarin.

Hope so, since there are strange tribes like murloc or totem, which are less important than other as WoW teaches us
Well, we had an expansion full of them in KC, but we had some spread out through the years, like Dirty Rat, Frigid Snobold, and Evolved Kobold.
no;
If there will be kobolds, there must be also;
Troll, Worgen, Blood Elf, Night Elf, Orc, Human, Goblin, Gnome, Undead, Tauren, Dwarf, Panda etc.
also except murlocs (I really don't know they are controllable or not)
almost all of the minion tags in hearthstone are controllable by some other race. They are like pets.
I really don't know that we can control a murloc or not as a different race. WoW players can confirm or not that situation.

Tribe's tag should be given only to those races that are spread on all expansions in (at last) decent numbers: Beast, Elemental, Murloc (just to name some) and the like can be easily find in each set and are also quite numerous.
Others, like Kobold or Undead, have just some spot card here and there without any real synergy tied to them so are not good candidate to get a tag (for now, at last).
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
Murlocs can indeed be controlled in WoW universe by disguising into a murloc, there is a whole reputation grind about this in Borean Tundra, Northrend.
it is kind unreasonable to say that we can't get one tribe without getting all the tribes. I mean, we have to start somewhere, right? we can't just not add them because we did not add the rest.

this is why I said we would need another kobold expansion to provide some synergy with the already existing kobolds.
but you are right, it should only be a tribe if we continue to get more of them throughout hearthstones lifespan. not just in one expansion.

Tribes should have a characteristic mechanic or gameplay quirk that ties them together, in addition to showing up often enough to justify them. Murlocs are good at swarming, Demons have self-damage, Elementals have 'If you played an Elemental last turn', etc.
Dragon and Mech were both retroactively given mechanics to bring them in line with this - Dragons in hand and Magnetic respectively - so I think you'd have to consider how you'd be tying your Kobolds together. This is especially tricky, because you'd need to consider all the existing Kobolds and how they'd play with it.
I think Undead is the most likely next tribe. It has a ton of flavour potential, is moderately splashable in any set, and has a lot of space to explore with Deathrattle related mechanics for their unique effect.
Welcome to the site!
Oh I didn't mean control like that.
I mean, controlling something like a puppet. I was not about somehow playable races. :)
If i meant like that, Druids' beast forms also should not have beast tag but they have. :)

Yeah, we have to start somewhere but it will be quite confusing when those races also be Pirates for example. I hope they will make those tags somehow but I don't think so. If they will do, they need to build multi-tags for cards first.

I hope next one will be Naga instead of Undead.
Undeads are inconsistent, I mean
An Abomination is an undead and Sylvanas Windrunner too. A ghoul is undead and a human dead body with brain also an undead.(Mad Scientist for example)
I don't think it is possible to make an Undead tribe.

Yet they specifically changed the witchwood grizzly artwork to a less ghostly color before while not giving ghostly charger the beast tag. I'm sure undead is coming down the line.
All I want is the Undead tribe, nothing else. As of now, more than 140 minions are waiting to be classified as Undead (plus 14 uncollectible ones). Quite a lot, huh?
I dont think undead will ever be a tribe, its just too hard. I mean, how would that even work? there are just so many undead minions, it would be impossible. I think the main problem is that simply having it be 'undead' is to vague. waaaay to many minions would become undead, making it hard to balance.
and cards like Mad Scientist could just as easily be a living scientist, instead of an undead one. but now he would have to be tagged as undead when maybe the devs would originally not want that.
also, I remember reading a post a while ago and they mentioned that they were not going to make an undead tribe.

I appreciate how restrained they've been about tribe. Each one takes some design space out of every set/environment, so it is really important to keep the volume down to make space for the mechanics and other elements that make each set unique. I do agree with ShadowsOfSense's point about the mechanical identity being the most important factor to a lore race becoming a gameplay tribe, but that's exactly why I don't think undead is likely. There isn't a coherent mechanical identity across the race. If I had to guess as to a next tribe, I would actually go looking for things that don't have much representation in the current card base, to minimize the impact to existing cards. Add to that the requirement that it not overlap too much thematically with current tribes (Spirit vs. Elemental, for example) as well as the above load issue and I actually don't see one coming any time soon.
If they were ever going to do this, the time would have been at the Kobolds & Catacombs launch. If feels like the moment has passed.
I also agree that the mechanical identity isn't there, and it would feel very forced if they suddenly tried to add mechanics to Kobolds at this late date.
I have to admit, I am actually rather surprised that there hasn't been one yet.
When Kobolds and Catacombs was first announced, I was almost certain that might have been the direction that they were heading in. Apparently not.
But that doesn't mean there never will be.
An old comment but this.
Tribes are not something used for flavor or to match WoW. It's a game mechanic. It's used for a PURPOSE. Elementals got their tag not beacuse we had 'a lot of elementals' but because a very specific mechanic that they wanted to use and decided that the elemental minions would work well for it. Thus they got a tag.
Undead, Kobolds, all of those other things need a REASON to be marked with a tag. Not because they are 'undead' or a 'kobold' but beacuse there's a specific THING you want them all to do together. Without that, there's literally no reason to tag them.
If you want Kobolds, then give them a mechanic that specifically NEEDS them to be doing together that other cards shouldn't be doing.
Why trade with minions when you can face for...billions?
