Competition Theme: Jurassic Card
We can't let Un'Goro Crater have all the fun - what could possibly go wrong bringing some more Dinosaurs out to play?
- You must create a minion that uses a Dinosaur in its art
- We'll accept fossilised and mechanised Dinosaurs - or anything else a bit out there - so long as it's clearly recognisable
- Your minion cannot be from the Journey to Un'Goro expansion
- We've seen what that expansion has to offer, so let's branch out a bit!
Nirast is looking for us to travel back in time this week, so bring your best prehistoric cards to the table!
As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

Welcome to the site!
Welcome! To Jurassic Card! (sorry, had to)
First idea:
Not super happy with the art or name, but I like the overall design. It's basically a Flame Imp that draws a card, which I think is balanced, since Hunter doesn't have much healing.
First card is a bit similar to my entry in last comp, but I actually had it designed from a long ago. The flavor is that whenever it touches another color (ie another class), it camouflages.
The second one is a bit more straight forward in the dino flavor, but I'm afraid it collides with Oondasta
If we're not going to put them in Un'Goro, I think the secondary location for a Hearthstone dinosaur would be the Druid's Rastakhan set. Gonk, the Raptor and Wardruid Loti are both dinosaur-based, among others, so this seems a natural fit.
Savage Striker is similar, so I think this card could be seen as a replacement. The Striker is not a Beast, though, because I guess it's the character riding the dinosaur, so I wonder if this should not be a Beast too *shrugs*
First idea is a bit simple, but I really liked the art and wanted something flavorful with it. Looking for a better name, but I can't think of anything that fits quite right atm.
Same general concept as Naturalize, you remove something for 1 mana but give your opponent a big advantage. However you can choose what this turns into, and also allows you to do some evolution shenanigans perhaps. I chose mage because they have time related magic in WoW and hearthstone (Time Warp), but it could totally be a shaman card instead if you guys think it's better.
I'll boop you
You must create a minion that uses a Dinosaur in its art.
I fancy the idea of both Hack the System and Warrior Galakrond, so I figured both archetypes could possibly use a card like this one to both stall time, but also contribute to tempo advantage on the board.
@linkblade91 - Isn't this a worse version of Savage Striker, which was already a weak card in its own right? This one has 1 less Attack and can be blocked by Taunts.
@BasilAnguis - I really like the idea of using minions from the past. I still think it suits Mage more, because time manipulations is more of their thing, and you can think of the card as pseudo-Polymorph, which is synonymous with Mage too.
@BloodMefist - Maybe Insatiable Devilsaur if we're speaking of the effect, which has cool flavor?
"Truth is in the shadows, waiting to be revealed by the light. But light only disperses the shadow." - Me
"If other people shared traits of those considered naive, the world would've become a better place." - Also me
Looking at it some more...yeah. I guess it is inferior to Savage Striker. Good catch.
You know @Neoguli , you don't have to have won to provide feedback :P We'll appreciate your opinion regardless. I don't bother to look if someone's won before when I read their feedback; I'll take it into consideration anyway, even if I was the #1 winner for a time.
Bit of a weird one for you all.

A very strange card. It's an interesting way to do a flexibility card like this, I'll say that much. I'm afraid I can't say I like it that much though because it's just too weird.
It's also got mistakes where it says "Tradable" and "looses".
Chameleosaurus is pretty nifty. I like it.
Gladiator Chewer however I have a problem with. Not in terms of concept, but rather that it overlooks a very important detail. Since the minion it attacks will have negative Health when you trigger the Overkill, the minion will try to gain negative Health and further weaken itself.
For the first time in a long time, feedback!

Two new cards, same fundamental idea:
The first one is a Giant that reduces in Cost over time, like Frost Giant. The second adds Rush and is Druid-only, making it more like Mulchmuncher. I just now noticed that I phrased them differently; let me know which text you prefer :)
I'll return with feedback tomorrow: I am burnt out from work. Hopefully there'll be more posts by then.
@BloodMefist - Dinosaurs also feel kind of Warrior-ish, and we had plenty of them in Un'Goro's Warrior package, so I don't think it's far off.
@Linkblade91 - I basically did no feedback beforehand, as I was secretly a greedy goblin, hoarding feedback from others and not giving my own. Now that I know how to somewhat get the dub, I can feel more confident sharing my tips to other people to help them achieve my results, even if I still have mixed feelings about my ability to give feedback.

New version of my Gladiator Chewer, which solves its previous problem. I'm still not sure if I should go with this or Chameleosaurus.
Feedback time:
That said, I feel like both are a bit underpowered: at least for Druid, they are a more restrictive Frost Giant (kinda), which wasn't a great card to begin with. I'd probably reduce their cost by two.
I'd probably try to find an artwork with an electric dinosaur or a cyborg dinosaur so that it still fits in Boomsday.
Tradeable should be in bold and if you want it to look less clustered, removing the enter after Tradeable should do it.
EDIT: I hope you still read this. The Keyword part might be a bit much for an already complex card. I didn't mention it at first because it's not that big of a deal, however, I just realized it poses a major issue in combination with Lifesteal. This minion can fully heal your hero, which is completely broken, most certainly for a Hunter card. Also, with its high Attack, I think the 'untill this dies' is unnecessary.
The second phrasing sound better to me.
Just checking if this would work as an entry.
It does feature a dinosaur, and it is indeed a minion :D
Two new ideas while I figure something out with the other one:
Some Elemental support + an undead minion for the expansion starring Kel'Thuzad. Might lower the cost and stats to be able to play an Elemental on the same turn, as well clarify it only cares about YOUR turn.
Support for 0-Attack minions, though there's not much in Barrens. Might move to Rastakhan. Should probably cost 3.
Feedback:
Swizard: This is insane! Play a bunch of beast, Stonetusk Boar or [Hearthstone Card (King Crush) Not Found], and you have an OTK.
BloodMefist: Really neat idea, and pretty decent synergy with Deathrattle/egg decks.
BasilAnguis: Cool idea, but it needs to be a minion. Sorry.
Neoguli: Good design, but the wording seems a little clunky. Not sure how to improve it, though. Maybe 'Immune while attacking', but that's very different.
Demonxz95: Cool idea, but Shaman was more about storms and wind that expansion. Also, not sure that's a dinosaur.
linkblade91: I prefer the neutral Devilsaur, since there's a lot of classes that can attack, mainly Rogue, Druid, Demon Hunter, Shaman as of late, and Warrior. Shouldn't it be Giant Devilsaur, though? I also like Swiftfoot Charger.
Wailor: Not sure the Chamaleosaurus counts, since it's more a salamander than a dino (I know, semanthics). I prefer the Chewer more anyway, the second version looks good.
bananenparty: Love it! It certainly qualifies, even if only on a technicality. Not sure the name fits the effect.
Should have read the prompt more carefully xD
Dinomancer! Showing up in the future, because she's time lost, get it?
I'll boop you
I still like your earlier idea, but Eggsnather is a great alternative. 0-cost synergy is unusual and thus unique, while this card might actually justify using them in a deck, because it can cheat them out.
You might also consider making it a transform instead, because it would be useless on enemy minions with Deathrattles and on friendly ones it has the same problem as the Battlecry minions.
Revised version - no more otk potential but I still want to keep the flavor of learning and a powerful turn 10 play.
Feedback:
BasilAnguis - The ability to target your own minions creates a Conjurer's Calling situation, and I don't think people want to relive that. Play a low-statted, high-impact Deathrattle or Battlecry minion, then replace it with something more useful for just 1 mana.
Nirast - I have zero idea what the Devilsaur has to do with Elementals. Eggsnatcher is much better, but A. Eggnapper exists, so the name is somewhat taken, and B. It's too good at 2/2/3. You're drawing a minion and (eventually) summoning it, for free, on a vanilla minion. Up the cost and I think you've got a fine idea.
bananenparty - I mean…Yes it does feature a dinosaur, but I think the idea was that the dinosaur was supposed to be the main attraction. And yeah, Descent of Dragons implies it's a dragon, not a dinosaur, which does you no favors.
Wailor - What happens if the Chewer kills a minion and "dies" in the process? Does the Overkill save the dinosaur vis-a-vie giving it the target's Health? Or does the effect fizzle? I feel like the natural expected reaction is that the Chewer would die, which sucks, but saving it could cause confusion as well.
Demonxz95 - That's certainly different, and cool. I think you're good to go. I'm surprised the words fit, to be honest XD
Neoguli - I see you already submitted. Rush + Immune is pretty strong, but your hero needs to have attacked which required a previous investment of mana/a card, so I guess that's okay. I appreciate that you're trying to elevate archetypes that could use the boost :)
BloodMefist - Perfect for eggs. For the name, what about "Unruly Devilsaur"? It's a bit shorter but gets the same idea across.
Swizard - This is very scary, as including Charge in any form will make it an OTK card. Maybe that's okay - I hear it's hard to reach 10-mana these days - but it's the kind of combo card where you proceed with a different game-plan (a regular Beast deck) and them bam: play this and win out of nowhere. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I still think it's scary: a giant ball of stats that clears the enemy board while potentially refilling your own. Also steals away Deathwing, Mad Aspect's creativity somewhat. It's difficult to reach 10-mana in general lately, so maybe that's okay, but the eyeball-test has me worried.
@linkblade91 I actually made a new version which gains the base stats, so that it doesn't have this problem :)
I know: I'm speaking about that one. If the Chewer kills an enemy 6/6, thus reaching 0 Health in the process, does it get flagged as being dead, or does it gain the base-6 Health and thus live? That's my question. My gut instinct is that it should be dead - it fell to 0 Health or less = dead - but surviving what would otherwise be a sacrificial trade could be confusing for people.
I don't know, but other cards have the same problem. For instance, The Boogeymonster
Alright back on the pony (Dinosaur?) this time I'm going with something simple and clean no crazy insane off the wall legendaries this time just a rouge dinosaur that summons his buddies from your deck when you play him for shenanagines with Gang Up and other shuffle effects.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Can my minion use artwork from the Un'Goro expansion, as long as the card itself is new? Struggling to find images that fit
If you're planning to use artwork that already exists on a card, then I would say No, do not do that. If we're talking promotional art or something to that effect, then I guess it's okay, although you should still try to find something else if you can.
Just wanted to point out how many cool and flavorful cards are there this week.
I almost forgot to upload for my own comp. Barely managed to do it with 30 seconds left, lol!
Good luck to everyone!
Good luck to our finalists :)
