Similar to Bring It On!. I don't think that card saw too much play, and I don't think this one will either. It will need synergy with frost spells, 2-cost spells, or dare I say Spell Warrior!... none of which exist as of this reveal.
I admire the design, but unfortunately its likely not going to see much play because Heavy Plate is just better in most cases, if not at least more flexible than this card. This one needs to stop at least 10 damage or you're basically paying 1 more mana for an Iron Hide.
But if theres more cards that combo with armor, this might just take precedence over heavy plate since its ultimately 1 less mana and that can count for a lot. At least if it does nothing youre still up by 5 armor so theres that.
Could be played in a heavy Control Warrior deck that knows its going to take 10 damage next turn, and so the armor loss is negligible. Still might not be played though.
A decent stall for slow Warrior decks, to be played at a time where you'd expect to lose all of your armor to the incoming damage anyway. It's pretty bad in any situation that isn't purely defensive, since unlike Shield Block it doesn't gain you any extra benefit. My guess is that this won't be a big part of the meta.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Not terrible as an anti aggro tool, but I think Heavy Plate is better in general. Generally it's better to just clear the board instead of undoing damage.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Meh, Heavy Plate is better. The only time Frozen Buckler is better is if freeze warrior has frost spell synergy and your desperate to run Frozen Buckler AND your opponent has 10+ attack of stats on board. Just playing Frozen Buckler without expecting to get damaged just makes it a worse Iron Hide, and Iron Hide has pretty much never seen play.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Cute idea, cute reveal video, but warrior has better, more permanent defensive tools.
I love the design of Frozen Buckler - 10 armor if you're under a lot of pressure is great, and the drawback of losing 5 next turn makes it fair for the cost.
I see a few folks here saying "Heavy Plate is strictly better, and the fail state here is a worse Iron Hide." That's probably mostly true, but I think there are a couple of ways in which that's unfair. First, this is cheaper, stronger synergy for Shield Slam. Second (and less compelling), this offers a way to curve out armor generation into [Hearthstone Card (Iron Clad) Not Found]. (Yes, you technically have your hero power for that, but it's a lot harder to remove 5 armor on turn 2 than it is to remove 2 armor, so you're more likely to get the stat boost.) All that is to say, I don't think it takes a ton of armor synergy to make this an interesting card you might seriously think about running.
Seems ok to me, nothing spectacular tough :)
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
So this is a stall effect similar to Conjured Mirage which never saw play, coz even aggro decks can wait one turn and with Frozen Buckler, the opponent card still hit face and not loose any minions, compared to Conjured Mirage. What Frozen Buckler would be good with is another card that synergizes with lots of armor like Shield Slam and Reckless Flurry
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This card has an amusing design, but other than the smile it brought me, I don't think it is bringing much novelty to the table. I'd be surprise if this makes the cut into Tier 1 decks
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Interesting idea for sure. Obvious move would be to play this when the other player has a good amount of attack on the board to hopefully buy you another turn.
Arena: Frozen Buckler is almost certainly never the correct pick in your drafts unless you somehow have amazing synergy with armor or Frost spells something among those lines.
Constructed: Slightly more likely that said amazing synergy comes together in a constructed deck, but I highly doubt it. I'm not even sure if this is better than Bring It On!.
Arena > Wild > Standard
2 mana for 5 armor alone isn't bad at all. Holding back an onslaught from your opponent for a turn, wonderful. Especially in the aggro heavy meta we are seeing, 10 armor in mid-late game would only last one turn anyway, good way to set up for a Brawl on the next turn.
Maybe they might reveal some card that use your armor in order to do something more, let's wait and see
Great synergy with other armor combos, and a decent stalling tool.

Lovely anti aggro card and the fact that this almost single handedly makes new legendary gain stats and charge - it will be played.
We now know it is supposed to combo with Shield Shatter. Is it good enough by itself that you can run it and be happy playing without drawing that card? Since you won't go negative on the armor, it can be a good boost of armor that you were counting on losing anyway.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Obviously intended for the Shield Shatter combo, but the earlier comparisons to Heavy Plate aren't particularly wrong either. I think the fact that you can get it down to nothing with just one card is really good, but it'll depend on if you really need to be able to do that whether or not it gets in over Plate.
Welcome to the site!
Just an Alright card. Not great, but you're running it to make Shield Slam and Shield Shatter that much more consistent.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Why would we ever play this card over Iron Hide?
Great panic button, and also amazing with the new aoe removal tool that can go down to 0 mana thanks to this!
