Competition Theme: Make Your Own Luck
Sometimes Hearthstone can be a tad random, so it's time to try and influence your luck!
- You must create a card where all the digits on it add up to 7 in total
- That's the digits in their Cost, Attack, Health/Durability and Card Text - names don't count!
- Numbers written in full text (where correct) don't count - "Summon seven 1/1 Imps" would only add 2 to your total, for example.
This week it was my turn to come up with the theme, and I've decided that it's time we all had a bit of good fortune!
As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

Welcome to the site!
I had an instant inspiration for a card, so here's my idea. Update: Im not continuing trying to make this card. My new ideas are further down.
Taran Zhu is Lord of the Shado-Pan, Pandaria's ninja protectors. He can quickly employ a powerful weapon, but you do so knowing that you'll only get one swing out of it; Deathrattles like Twig of the World Tree or a swing-weapon like Boggspine Knuckles would be best.
Probably too good, but the worst of it would be in Wild *shrugs*
Pretty hard to go for something over two mana this week (except for spells, of course)
"Is it even an infestation if they only have one body?"
Now I have no idea if this idea is practical or not, but playing around with numbers really played off.
Now for some feedback.
I'm unfortunately not a huge fan of this card. Other than the fact that it doesn't seem very practical to me for any game state, I'm afraid I simply just don't like it too much.
This isn't really your fault or anything. Sometimes you just end up finding cards that you don't like but you can't entirely grasp why.
I already gave you the feedback on Discord, but for the sake of everyone here reading, I will reiterate for them.
It's a pretty good card. Though some weapons are particularly problematic. Not just Twig, but also Aluneth is another one. It's also just powerful deckthinning.
Honestly I'm convinced that we already have the winner of the competition right here. Nexus Collectionist is a pretty stellar card and you've had an extremely good track record this season. Meanwhile I'm supposed to be the "FC guy" around these parts and I have not (sad face).
Shadowbeak Cleric is okay, but I think it's supposed to read "All enemy minions -1 Attack" which would set its score to 5.
If you win with this card, I'm gonna be lowkey super pissed because I came up with this exact card and didn't go through with it because "Draw 1 card" is not traditional wording and therefore its proper score would be 6 instead of 7.
As far as feedback for the card itself, well… that. Great card though.
I'm a little confused as to how Dr. Smalls qualifies? Oohhhhh, the numbers are negative! Now your feedback on Wailor makes sense! How did I miss that?
I do really like its effect, because it has some interesting uses. Although I would like it better if it only affected the minions in your deck to prevent it from leading into a big combo turn. I'm also not sure how 0-Health minions will be received.
I agree with the feedback that Unchained Soultaker was indeed too weak and far too situational, so I made some new, completely different cards.
About your other cards, Spellsmith is the runner up for me.
About the inconsitency with the "Draw 1 card" thing, I don't mind it too much in this very specific case: wording it with "Draw a card" would break both the aesthetic of the text AND the parallel to Ultimate Infestation. If Blizzard ever printed this card (which they might do at some point), I wouldn't be surprised if they too broke the convention.
About the card, it's very weird. I don't like that minions with two or less Health die instantly nor the fact that it enables combos way too easily, but I find it very funny how this issues counter each other (you can't pull an Archmage Antonidas OTK because Sorcerer's Apprentices would die as soon as they hit the battlefield). I don't know if I like the card or not; as I said, it's very weird.
Finally, I think it shouldn't be a Beast, as it seems in the same category as Worgens or Pandaren, even if rat-people don't exist so far.
From what I gather from the feedback, Dr. Smalls is basically DOA so here's a new card instead without negative numbers.
How's this? I honestly think it could be okay at 2-mana. Everything has to line up perfectly: Taran Zhu in hand, weapon in deck, appropriate timing of the "After your hero attacks" effect, etc.
Best choices: Flamereaper, Rinling's Rifle, Aluneth (still), Silver Sword, Boggspine Knuckles, Ancharrr, Wrenchcalibur, Fool's Bane, Gorehowl (for face damage), Woecleaver.
Would appreciate any feedback.
Do you think it would be balanced as a 0/2 which takes 3 cards in a turn to activate?
Wailor's suggestion isn't a bad idea. It does pose the threat of giving you a big minion on turn 2, but that's probably fine since you could just as well get a weak-statted 3-Cost as Wailor mentioned or even nothing at all.
More feedback:
Other than that, I really like the card. Its text amost reads like a haiku. Very cute :)
Finally, I think the card should feature an egg or a larva instead of a full grown Nerubian. Considering how big and menacing they are, it's a bit odd to have one of them as a minion with 0 Attack.
Shouldn't this have Dormant instead of Stealth? But i guess you cant really fit the text in, eh? I mean it still works, its just super extremely weak card like this, can be killed off quite easily.

Scrapping the weapon idea; cool as it is, I can't make it as good as I want it to be. That being said, I am extremely happy with my new version:
It has everything this prompt wants to see: digits, negative digits, and a written number. It's flavorful to Taran Zhu and the Shado-Pan being all sneaky, and I feel it's a cool play on a Devolving Missiles-type effect :)
I'm gonna put out some feedback via editing this comment; just give me a minute. Typing one-handed is a pain. Easier when you put the keyboard on your lap, and ignore the doctor's orders vis-a-vie using your right hand anyway...
Swizard - I agree with Sinti: just make it say "Starts Dormant" instead of Stealth. Harder to remove, obviously, but makes more sense flavor-wise. I'm concerned with dropping it to only needing 3 Deathrattles, 'cause a cheap Leper Gnome + some bounce-effects could achieve that easily. You don't want Anub'arak dropping on turn-3.
Demonxz95 - Paraphrasing what I said on Discord, I don't like "effect soup" cards a la Ultimate Infestation. They feel forced, and this is heavy competition for Sword and Board's space in the game. I really like Dr. Smalls; just remove the Beast tag and you're honestly good to go.
SkeithDE - Crimson Inquisitor says "minionS", so I assume you could swipe the whole board if your opponent doesn't play around it. This is a cool card, given you can use Rocket Boots for Rush and some handbuffs for a neat board clear. Yeah Blademaster Samuro is easier, but he came out way later. Spellsmith is very boring by comparison.
AeroJulwin - I don't like it. As I said for Demon above, it's an obvious play on Ultimate Infestation and I don't feel that to be particularly creative.
Wailor - Nexus Collectionist is your better card, although it feels like a total slam on Wandmaker. Wandmaker is already a good card, and now you can Discover with Spell Damage +1. It's too good in my opinion, but I don't see how you'd fix it.
Some people suggested I try remaking Unchained Soultaker, so here are two new versions of that card, one more inline with the original version and the other a completely different effect idea.
There's a lot of struggling going on for what sounded like a simple prompt. My card is definitely not the best either, but unless I end up thinking of something more original, I'll probably just submit it.
Pretty late to the party, but here are my initial ideas.
@BloodMefist - Unfortunately, I just don't think Splintering Sword is a good card. You have to Honorably Kill something to get mediocre damage, and you only get two swings. It could be quite interesting with better numbers, but then it wouldn't work for the prompt... I'd save it for another one. The art and name are definitely worth hanging onto; they're pretty cool.
Surge of Light ain't bad. We have a good amount of 1-Mana "Heal 3 and do X" Priest cards, though; at least, it feels like we do.
Less than 24 hours to go; good luck everyone :)
Congratulations to Shadows, who won his own comp! That sneaky turtle... :D
