Way too all-in for an effect that can whiff. Ten mana cards need to win the board back to see play, not just push an advantage.
Plus, I'd rather just recast Wildfire with Dawngrasp than take a down turn and maybe highroll something later.
A man is lying on the street, some punks chopped off his head
I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
God I really want this to work. It probably won't, but hey, stranger things have happened before. As long as there aren't too many low-cost dragons it could be somewhat reliable to cast randomly.
Maybe they'll rotate Brightwing out of core...
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This seems like a good card in theory. Lots of dragons have big stats, and there is the occasional Brightwing lowroll, but you can discover in order to prevent that lowroll. Also it has tradeable, so it's flexible in Big spell Mage. Also similar cards such as Power of Creation saw a lot of play. But i feel like this comes out way too late, AND it has to compete with Wildfire, because a lot of Big spell mage decks also run a hero power package in order to survive early game.
Still i REALLY hope it works, because Big spell mage is such a fun archetype!
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
What else can I say, it sucks.
10 is a lot of mana to ask, and not only can this card potentially whiff, in what world are we living in where discovering two dragons can end games? For 10 mana I can play Pyroblast, Rune of the Archmage, Mask of C'Thun. Hell I can just dawngrasp with 3 mana to spare. The dragons summoned out of this will likely not even have rush, and there's not many of them having taunt neither. You cant even use it with broom for gods sake. Actually, what are the dragons we're looking at to summon anyway?
Getting this discounted is a nice thought, which applies to all the above except for dawngrasp. So that's not a merit. Maybe cheating it out from something like Iceblood Tower? Well, that would actually require iceblood tower to first be good, which in my opinion it isn't.
There's still hope. One more legendary from this midset, and its a mage card and its a dragon. So that card is presumably the real kicker here that'll make this card soar.
Or more likely this card just sucks.
Seems weak.
You don't get to pick the discover when case from Iceblood Tower right? That's a lot of potential to whiff even on the best case scenario. Only silver lining is there are a lot of big dragons so chances to get a pile of stats on board is are good.
Looking at the standard dragons, just 4 of them are cheaper than 6 mana. Brightwing, Circus Amalgam, Onyxian Warder and Crimson Hothead. The majority are huge costed dragons like Deathwing the Destroyer, Sleepy Dragon or Runaway Blackwing.
The dragon pool it's really ok for a random summon, just remember how good was Dream Portal. And that card lets you to discover them!
By The Holy Light!
So we have 18 different Dragons currently in Standard.
Out of those the worst possible outcome is Brightwing, everything upwards is at the very least okay. Amalgam has taunt, Crimson Hothead can gain taunt, Onyxian Warder is unfortunately just a 3/6 but there's wworse.
Everything else is pretty decent if you're just looking for stats...but that's the problem with the card. It doesn't really generate tempo unless you specifically hit the new Onyxia which has Rush or Runaway Blackwing which can snipe an enemy minion. Occasionally you might hit a Sleeping Dragon to save your ass, but outside of that you're basically just paying 10-mana (or randomly casting it) to get two giants, which doesn't sound too great as a win condition by itself
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The idea that this is a tradeable card in your hand and that once you get Iceblood Tower on the board becomes a potentially pain is hopeful. However 10 mana to cast to get 2 potentially mediocre minions is a helluvah dice roll.
Looks like a fun / meme card and right now i guess thats all it is ... could work with Iceblood Tower but that's it ...
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Too bad a lot of good dragons are good because of their battlecries. There's a few I wouldn't mind summoning, but I think the choices from the discover will all be bad more often than not.
