Well this is an interesting Nature spell for priest. Would've thought this would fit more with Druid flavor-wise but ofc, the 9 mana board clear is always expected for Priest.
I wouldn't want to play this when I have minions on my side of the board, so it's more like a catch-up board clear when your side has no minions.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
WOW, that's nuts. Flik Skyshiv saw play in every rogue deck, and that only destroyed 1 minion + all copies wherever they are. This is ALL minions on the board + copies wherever they are. Oh aggro decks keep drawing cards and filling boards? How about i play Whirlpool and destroy their board AND crush their dreams of reloading? This is an insane boardclear, which i would have expected as a legendary card instead. This card will be a must-include for ANY slower priest deck untill it rotates.
Also considering all the Reno Jackson in core set teases we got prior to the expansion reveal, Reno decks might return. And Whirlpool is not good at all against reno decks. so that's a potential weakness of the card. Also it costs 9 mana, and it can delete minions in your own deck. But still if you live against any aggro deck Whirlpool will just instantly win you the game... unless it's Defend the Dwarven District hunter killing you turn 6.
Still i see this card getting played a LOT. Also in control priest mirriors it might be beneficial to cast this when you have minions on board, just so you can have the deathrattles and stuff in the Xyrella, the Devout pool, while your opponent probably wont.
In wild i'm not sure if it sees play. Plague of Death isn't seen that often AND 9 cost cards are very hard to play in wild... mainly considering your probably dead to Defend the Dwarven District hunter, Raid the Docks warrior or Burn shaman around turn 6. (if not earlier)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
This card is there. That's about the best thing I can say about it. The fact is that it'll likely come out from a discover effect more often than actually be placed into the deck itself.
Yes, it clears both board and reload, but if your opponent lasted that long without killing off priest and then proceed to not play around this, he's just asking to lose. Because if Im really honest, this is just a more expensive Twisting Nether, that doesn't deal with deathrattles, unlike the superior Plague of Death, which is a one-off even in the old galakrond priest deck, about as greedy a deck as it can get.
The flik effect is nice and all, but I think we're missing the point that this is a 9 mana card, and how many games actually lasts that long? Even boar priest finishes their games faster than that.
Outside of specific circumstances it's mainly just a 9-mana Twisting Nether. When's the last time you saw Nether?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
This alludes that there could be something on the horizon that will add more copies of minions to your deck. The issue with this regardless is that a lot of shuffling of copies of things going into a deck are spells that summon a minion. So this will do nothing to swarm druid or the likes.
Hmmm ... not sure about this one.
Looks interesting and i think it could see play depending on how the meta shifts with the expansion. This could either be played in every priest deck for the clear or see no play at all. Realy depends how the meta evolves in the upcoming expansion.
But i somehow think this will find it`s place in most priest decks.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Now imagine if this card said "Destroy all minions (wherever they are)." Not really sure that would actually help Priest much since it doesn't have a lot of burn or resurrection now. As for the actual card, guess it would counter piranhas. It could've been a good counter to Togwaggle's Scheme or maybe Dire Frenzy.
Seems very good, and just about right for its mana cost. Condemn and Xyrella are still in Standard to pick up the slack in the early game, so Priest should have a decent chance of getting to the point of playing this. It's quite the answer against slower, chunkier decks like Ramp Druid. Not one-sided like Soul Mirror, but I think that Control Priest won't mind that considering it gives them the ability to answer minions that have yet to hit the board. A very good board clear. Priest shouldn't have to worry about big boards for another two years.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Finally an anti-copy card. But for one class at 9 mana.
.. Aren't they bringing back Reno and highlander-decks to the core set ? ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Not super sure how impactful a Flik-like effect is when it's already a Twisting Nether. I mean, Priest will play it because it's a Twisting Nether for them, but a rather expensive one at that.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Feels like a very strong card, even though it's quite expensive. Might be worth running at least a copy of it, though.
