Fun Fact: There are more cards with "dragon" in their name that are not dragons than are.
Snapdragon is an absurd arena card, gg to the balance team.
Why is Snapdragon beast and not dragon?
Because, despite the name, they're Naga pets, basically. I think Sunken Saber is the same creature.
Snapdragon is the new keleseth. Except it has virtually no downside and cost one more.
Can't wait to make another keleseth rogue out of it.
Bubbler - Just not worth it. Not even in silence decks. I would respect this more if its stats are swapped so it can be some sort of anti control card. Unless or course, that Im misunderstanding how this works, and its not ANY damage, its literally ONE damage to kill it immediately. 2 damage will bizarrely leave it alive for more.
Coilfang Constrictor - Probably useless. Hand reading is a nice thing to have, but I think its fairly overestimated most of the time as an advantage. Being able to stop the opponent's possible play for a turn is nice, but not nice enough to cost one card slot. The only way this ever sees play is in an aggro deck and the meta turns to control.
I bet Coilfang constructor will be a quite popular pro player choice. The skill ceiling of that card is pretty high.
Aggro decks would love it because its basically delaying an answer from the opponent. And because aggro decks tend to pressure face most of the time, delaying a card for one turn may prove decisive.
But if youre not piling on the pressure consistently, being able to prevent one card from play is hardly ever going to win the game. Blademaster Okani is a good card because it usually eats a card from your opponent (on top of preventing a curve play) while this card merely delays it. That's a huge difference in my opinion.
Perhaps my earlier wording was harsh. Calling it useless isn't appropriate because I can see a world where aggro decks play this card. But beyond that Im struggling to see how to fit it in decks. Most pros hand read pretty well anyway, so being able to peak at 3 cards is hardly any reason to make way for this card in a deck.
Wouldn't it just say that, though? "After this minion takes any damage, destroy it."
Bubbler doesn't say "only dies" on 1 damage, so the condition on it is just another way to kill it:
It's essentially the Jandice illusion effect, but on a 1-cost minion without any other abilities. Not worth it to include in a deck, but might be decent when generated randomly.
I wouldn't know. Seems counter intuitive, as though a popable round object would sustain a hit from a 2x4 but not a finger poke.
That's the flavor, though. You hit it with a hammer and it bounces back, but if you poke it, it pops.
The reveal schedule looks like it's all Twitter. Not sharing the spotlight with any other content creators this time, eh?
Apparently you missed the mention of Live Creator Recaps in bold orange letters? If you look at the links, they are all on Twitch at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. Pacific.
Oh, are recaps more reveals? I thought that was more of a here's-why-we-did-this discussion than a here's-a-new card video.
I can't believe they didn't even mention Mercenaries, this is supposed to be major patch for few of us still playing that forgotten mode...
There was a tweet.
This is the big Mercs patch.
But yes, it should have been in the same announcement.
So that reveal a day from now looks a lot like Clownfish from mercs
Yep, it definitely is
Feels kinda weird to finally have a fairly diverse meta and now having to hope the miniset doesn't fuck it up completely again.
Oh yeah, and this patch is also the big mercs patch they announced 2 months ago, but I guess that's not important enough to even mention it on any official accounts or posts outside of a single twitter post...
