5/5 stars. Dont care whether it'll be part of the next meta, but for its mere existence its already gratifying.
It'll do 2 damage to face by default and is highly likely to do more to certain classes like druid, rogue or mage; classes of which having no trouble inserting their dick where its not wanted via incredible rng, ramp bs, or simply plain annoying gameplans.
Of course, the card is not guaranteed to be in every deck. Play this against an aggro or midrange deck and very likely you've just shafted yourself. The fact that the effect only last a turn also simply delays their plans. And as always, decks that tend to draw fast also tend to gain health fairly easily, like druid or priest.
But as a tech in an aggro-midrange deck against control and combo? Its just possible to deal somewhere around 4-8 damage or perhaps forcing your opponent to be less efficient, which will likely grant you an incredible advantage. The fact that it'll do 2 damage regardless of what your opponent does means this card will at very least do something, so that's meaningful if nothing else.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the fact it's a "opponent next turn"-only effect and not a "until the start of your next turn".
So these pesky mill deck won't be able to abuse it.
This is going to be a mean card against combo, Miracle Rogue, sometimes Warlock, and especially that Turbo Aggro DH. That being said, it's still very niche form of damage/tech, and can often only be a 3 mana 2/4 deal 2 to the opponent. Not the most exciting card in the format from that perspective.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Where was this when Garrote Rogue was running amok?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Very interesting effect, one that I wish was added to the game earlier in HS's life, like many ppl are saying. It's definitely a tech card against combo/control decks and the different combinations of archetypes that can use this card in wild is...a lot. Kinda like a Rustrot Viper where it'll see play if certain classes are reigning supreme.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
I'm sure this will be good in or against some deck. Maybe Agony Curse Warlock? Maybe not, since in order to increase the chance of triggering it, you'd probably want to wait until their deck is mostly agonies, and at that point you've probably already won.
This is going to be amazing... All the "cast when drawn" cards that are available, it just feels that this card was meant to sucker punch Warlock
Well 3 Mana 2/4 deal 2 is pretty neat but it could deal more damage so good card overall!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Possibly amazing in Wild, but possibly the worst card in the set in Standard. Will not see play -- 1 star.
Very powerful disruption tool, it's a soft taunt if you dont want to it make snowball damage
I like the card design and its disruptive nature, but I'm skeptical as to its efficiency. Its good, but maybe not a 5 stars like some ahead of me commented. Should see play, or at least, experiment.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Seems like a decent tech card against heavy-draw decks, and honestly it might see play in some aggresive decks as well. Also this can also see play if DH gets popular, considering most of their new cards are draw heavy cards.
Thank yogg it only works starting on your opponents turn, otherwise this would be toxic in Mill decks.
Oh and in wild there might be a memey combo deck that uses this alongside Octosari and maybe Doomsayer.. probably in warlock because of Treachery and lots of mana cheating.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
A nice disruption tool, but not sure exactly where it fits. Doubt it'll see much play unless combined with something else.
