How many times have Rancor actually worked? That's more or less an indication on whether this card will get anywhere.
Blizzard does better, Fire Sale does more damage, so the only reason why youre even playing this card is because it can potentially swing board. How likely? In my opinion, very unlikely.
Gives me Abyssal Wave vibes...in that it's clearly overcosted for balance reasons, yet will still be run because the archetype needs it.
I wonder what made it broken at 5-mana.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Playing two in one turn to kill off all of your skeletons and resummon a full board. That's my guess at least.
A man is lying on the street, some punks chopped off his head
I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
Potential board clear plus seven 2/2s that do 2 damage to a random enemy when they die? Sounds alright to me. Especially with Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable.
Unless these is a way to ensure that you face a swarm of mini-minions and they don't swing at you... I don't see this being used outside of the lawls for playing Skele-Mage
Rancor is i.m.o. still not that good of a card, because it has trouble with dealing with board cuz everything around turn 3-4 already has 3+ health. So i'm not sure why tf this is 6 mana. In the reveal video it was 5 mana, and it still looked not that strong at 5 mana, but the pre-maturely nerfed it. Not that i'm complaining about the fact they nerf cards before they release (I like that actually) but it seems weird that they nerfed this card. There probably has to be some reason that we haven't seen yet.
Also Deathborne costs the same as Blizzard. Except Freeze is often better for some than summoning a few minions. This card also REALLY reminds me of Blast Wave, which was a very bad card. (As someone that included this in casino mage... i cut it because it almost never overkilled.)
This is Abyssal Wave 2.0.... Very overpriced but still included because the Volatile Skeleton deck NEEDS it.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I highly doubt you'll be killing any minions with this spell by turn 6. It'd need more setup than it's actually worth, coz this spell is 6 mana, quite a lot if you think about it. You'd need to trade your current minions and hope they survive so you can kill them with this spell. Probably the weakest Volatile Skeleton support card so far
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Rancor comparisons are misguided because Mage has a much easier time "adjusting" enemy minion health than other classes. Also, the payoff for this is much, much better than a measly 2 armor apiece. Rancor was actually good during the brief moment Control Warrior was viable, and this will be even better as part of a strong prefab archetype like Skeleton Mage, so 4 stars.
Kel'Thuzad thinks adding a silent 'e' at the end of words makes them sound cooler.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Blizzard cousin where you can change the freeze effect for the skeleton. It's better if you already have some skeletons on board to maximize damage
Not particularly high on this one, 2 damage AoE is extremely low for a 6 mana spell.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
Super strong board clear. I'm really loving the new Volatile Skeleton package!
"Borne" is the preferred spelling of the past tense of the verb "bear," meaning "to support." The name means "supported by death." If KT were to add an 'e' to the correct spelling, he would make it "Deathbornee."
It's 2 damage to each minion currently on the board, plus whatever damage the summoned skeletons manage to do, plus 2 more damage from each skeleton when they die. That usually turns out to be extremely high if you use it correctly.
