Quest Coming up! Do you think it's good already?

ARES
I haven't been playing druid much but I'm tempted to try it this upcoming expansion (no I ain't playing the current token druid; simply not my style). My question is do you think the current Choose one cards are enough or would the coming expansion have to include a bunch of new options to make the card viable?
I already spotted Raven Idol , Malfurion the Pestilent , Nourish and Wardruid Loti was confirmed to work. Crystal Power on an Acolyte of Pain or some "whenever damaged"-type minion could be fun as well but what else is there?
What new options are you expecting?

No, the current Choose one cards do not justify the Quest: to be fair, the reward isn't much better than the basic Hero Power with the current card pool.
If you are Token, you want to close the game as fast as possible and Untapped Potential would slow you down by a lot. On the other hand, Control only exists in the form of HealDruid, which is more of a meme archetype right now, and you don't have enough reasons to want the new HP (consider that attacking with your face is a way to receive damage and thus being able to heal).
However, we should consider that Blizz will also support these new archetypes, so I'm sure we'll see at least two good Choose One cards, one of which will be auto include in every Control-ish deck, that will make the Untapped Potential worth experimenting.
Moreover, Biology Project may see some play now: don't mistaken me, it's still a bad card, but it can allow you to leave some unspent mana even in the first stages of the game (at the cost of a considerable drawback tho).
We'll see.
Spice Lord and self-proclaimed Meme Master.
Malfurion the Pestilent and the new Quest don’t really mesh well together, plus, there are almost no good Choose One cards.
This ain't no place for a hero
Too soon for bury this card, but for now for standart - it's trash, choose one cards not too powerful and you must play like moron and not 100% use your mana 4 turns. And reward technicly - do nothing. In wild it's bad too, yes, it's very powerful with jades idols in late game, but jades already too strong without it, and you can use Fendral, who is 3-5, only bad thing - you must pay 4 mana. IDK, maybe Blizz gives us broken choose one cards and it will be a thing, but i think, it will be like in last time with quests - 7/9 are trash without support and really slow.
I would bet there will be powerf "chose one" cards coming

btw ... how to start a new thread?

The current cards doesn't make the new quest worth it, but probably more interesting ones are coming so it's too soon to judge.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
The Malfurion DK really is not going to work with the Quest though, I mean he brings his own Hero Power replacing the passive and since the quest is slow in itself - imo not a situation like with Rexxar and Zul'jin where you would want to run both for a long game
It will work in a sense that it will summon 4 minions, but it is kinda counter-productive in a way that it changes your hero power again, yes.
That being said, maybe Jade Idol will be the card that makes this quest worthwhile.

I’ve noticed — for whatever reason — that a lot of the new expansion discussion here tends to skew towards Wild. But it seems a little much to think that Blizzard would build an entire concept around cards that the Standard player base can’t use, or that won’t see their way into competition.
Especially mid-year, after so many cards have cycled out of Standard, it seems much more likely that Blizzard will want to create some kind of internal coherence to the class archetypes. (Hence their whole thing about class identity.) If there aren’t current cards that would make the quest “worthwhile,” I think we can presuppose that they’ll print SOME new ones. But I guarantee the designers were more concerned with what would create a viable alternative to Token Druid than they were about resurrecting Malfurion the Pestilent.
Oh.. so you're saying there's a chance; I guess Ill take that..
After all there's lots of cards to be released but I guess as of now it's not worth its share of dust.
Also as mentionned above I was thinking of the scarab+spider battlecry of Malfurion the Pestilent and not the hero power.

As a jade druid player, most of the time you don't actually want +3 jade idols in your deck and losing control over whether you can shuffle or not might actually be a bad thing. Definitely not worth the quest requirements
Well, it's the second expansion of the year. We can expect some pretty good epics and legendaries and i think that one of Druid epics will be a powerful choose one card. Or maybe Elise will be a choose one. Just a hunch..
I think we can safely assume that there will most likely be support for the quests in general and that blizzard isn't looking to wild and potential there but rather how they can shape and impact standard.
Aha! See that's an interesting thought.. What would Elise's choice be. Maybe it could involve the horse she was riding in the trailer.

How does Wardruid Loti work with the quest completed? Will you get all four?
Yes. The hero power works exactly the same as Keeper Stalladris, and as the boss in the Dalaran Heist.
If you want to see it in action there are a number of clips on YouTube from various streamers who had access to play the new stuff against each other recently, go check them out.
The quest reward looked very powerful in the streamers' games, especially with Oasis Surger. But you do have to spend the first 4-5 turns playing behind the curve and the question is whether the meta will allow that.
