Ordinarily I'd rate this as trash. But you'd have to respect lifesteal, and the fact that the summoned minion also gains lifesteal means decks that try to aggro down this deck would need a silence or risk losing straight away.
Imagine getting Amplified Elekk out with lifesteal. That's just immediately ends any aggro deck no matter if they can remove it without trading.
But of course, the real question is whether big pally can actually survive past turn 5 without dying. Because this card may do the job...providing youre still alive the turn after this is played.
If I understand this correctly, it's only truly gone if you silence it or play something like Life Sentence. Or I guess if there's nothing to swap it with. Then there's the fact that the swapped minion gains lifesteal.
If there was a greater target for Silence effect, I've not seen it in a while. Granted 5 mana to continue bringing it back onto the board can be daunting in the current meta... just look at Deathbringer Saurfang. However with ways to cheat it out, like Cavalry Horn, it could be a major pain mid-late game with the added lifesteal effect it imparts on the incoming minion... ugh... just thinking about Brasswing getting dropped as you run this into something big, gain 3 life, and perhaps wipe, if not get a lot of life back, from the board.
Honestly, as long as Paladin finds a way to close out games, this is kinda nuts. If it doesn't get silenced it's basically impossible to race Paladin now. If it does gets silenced that just means something else won't be.
Maybe this just fails due to lack of overall support, but as a standalone card this is pretty crazy.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
OH YES, i love these often complete trash *ahem* fun legendaries! Don't care how competative this card will be, i will be playing BIG Paladin a lot!
But okay lets see if this can have any chance. BIG Paladin can get Starlight Groove for survivability, and the core set has a lot of nice things for paladin, like the buffed Consecration. A lot of BIG Paladin support from altarac rotates, but paladin does still have Front Lines and they can just run Rivendare, Warrider as an alternative wincon. And this expansion also gives BIG Paladin Lead Dancer and Annoy-o-Troupe as further support.
I feel like BIG paladin can have a chance this expansion, BUT i don't think this new BIG support is locked to ONLY BIG Paladin. I feel like some of these card can also slot into a (pure) control paladin deck.
It is weak to silence though, BUT silence doesn't get runned that often.. Except for priest. Priest loves their Shard of the Naaru, which is now in core.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Your opponent will be praying that they have Silence or Transformation effects, otherwise you're pulling big boi after big boi into play.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
I unpacked a signature version of this bad-boy on day 1: Pretty stoked !
