Unlike all the gimmiky same style cards from previous expansions, like drakkari trickster, this actually is mostly beneficial to you, AND you basicly control how you can use it. I feel like it's a must include for ANY "Big" or "Recruit" Deck. it let's you discount something like Collosus of the moon, and makes your opponents card expansive AF. It's a bit high rolly but it's a great card anyways.
Mill rogue comebacks?
Probably not but will try for sure.
Anti aggro tool. You always play this against rogues and shamans and it's better than "look LOOK" new deathwing for the price of 4 mana and the rogue cant play their shitty 4 drop that generates lackeys anymore it's a win win, you guys are definitely sleeping on this guy.
This won't likely be in a serious competitive deck, but it will be a lot of fun in a big deck.
It will probably backfire on you most of the time, but if I open it, I will definitely try it in a Big deck. Don't craft.
I feel like there is a 95% chance this sees no play at all. It may fit in exactly Handlock.
I guess it depends on the meta. If a mid-range meta will be stabilize i'm with you. The effect is cool - but for a 5 mana minion to expensive.
btw wrong video on this page
Too random to be good. Not terrible though. Love to see the Trolden clips where someone makes their own card cost 25.
Works well with giants or other "reduce" mechanisms in the near future. Renders opponents cards virtually useless with Mountain Giant or Molten Giant, or even Grave Horrorand you have an easy 0 cost giant (if you draw them with this card ofc.)
Hm. Interesting. Not playable, but interesting.
No major analysis from me that hasn't already been addressed in the comments below, but will make one point that several people seem to have missed - whether your card becomes cheaper or more expensive, there's still a downside. You're still drawing your opponent a card. It might be more expensive than it normally would be, but it's still an extra resource you gave them. The card being more expensive is going to be irrelevant unless it's specifically a combo piece or you go to fatigue (the latter of which is unlikely if you're running this card).
Agreed. It's why I always hated Spellslinger and similar cards. Cards like these will literally lose you the game some non-trivial amount of time, even when they fit your deck's strategy.
I like it but it doesnt seem very effective.you could use this against aggro if you have big cards.
Cool and funny effect but rather unreliable.
It could be used in a heavy deck like Big Paladin, but it would screw up both Duel! and Blatant Decoy, so I don't think the pros are higher than the cons, which is a shame.
Judging for the art, I really hoped this was a Priest epic/legendary (together with Murozond), but... heh...
2/5 fun but not competitive
I think this would be playable if the battle cry had no downside : - "Both players draw a card if yours is dearer swap their costs"
Good if your deck is full of high cost cards. You have a good chance of pulling something big and getting a discount on it. If the card drawn by the opponent is high cost as well then you more or less break even. This becomes more consistent against aggro decks because those decks only run cheap cards. You get a huge discount and one of their cards become too expensive for them at the same time. Highlander Mage could make good use of this and big decks could also benefit from it.
Why is the attached video the one for Depth Charge? Or is this a client side issue?
I wonder what happens if the opponents hand is full does this whiff?
also with double battle cry (quest shaman) does it draw two? And swap costs twice?
I would imagine, it draws 2 and every cost gets switched once.
—> Draw - Swap - draw - swap
As opposed to:
Draw - Swap swap - draw - swap swap.
No reason to quadruple the swap
You sure want to have high cost cards along with this one and punish aggro decks very hard if you get lucky, you also gain tempo for it.
