Dead man's hand is a Poker term, referring to a hand with two black aces and two black eights (black, hence the colour of Rogue) and any fifth card. It comes from folk hero Bill Hickok, who was killed during a game of Poker with that hand. The Hearthstone card is an obtuse reference to that, with a more direct Poker joke in the flavour text.
