Rise of Shadows PVE content value
Iv seen many ppl complain about PVE content not being free anymore. If you stop and think about what you are getting in return for your investment, it is actually pretty decent.
- There will be PVE content consisting of 5 chapters. You get the first chapter for free.
- Each chapter (after the first one) will cost 700 gold.
- Each chapter (including first one) will reward you with 3 RoS packs for its completion.
- Completing all 5 chapters reward you with a card back and a golden Classic pack.
- Owning all 5 chapters will reward you with a golden Zayl, Shadow Cloak.
So lets sum this up:
- You pay 2800 gold total (or $20) and you get 15 RoS packs, 1 golden Classic pack and a golden copy of Zayl, Shadow Cloak.
So compared to previous, free PVE content, where the reward was a card back only, for basically 1300 gold (or literally $0 lul, since 15 packs in shop cost $20), you get a golden Classic pack and a golden Zayl, Shadow Cloak. Obviously the gold price is not as favourable as real money, but i think in the end it is ok, since we have the option to use gold in a first place.
That sounds like a pretty damn deal to me!

Very true. Golden Classic packs have its own, separate pity timer from the regular, non-golden Classic packs, do keep that in mind while opening.

Very true. Golden Classic packs have its own, separate pity timer from the regular, non-golden Classic packs, do keep that in mind while opening.

I love PvE. I still play Dun.Run., Mons.Hunt., and Rum.Run. of course. I'm also still trying to finish up my Heroic Blackrock Mountain (2 bosses left).
So the golden Classic pack and the golden copy of Zayl, Shadow Cloak come for free right?
This adventure has a lot of potential and I hope to be of real good content and lore!
I will definitely buy this adventure with Amazon coins, I just think that 2800 gold is better for buying 28 packs.
@Monkshow: for "free", if you own all 5 wings and you finish them all. So, if you meant you dont have to pay more on top of the price of wings, then no, you dont.

That is a pretty well known information by this point. Or at least i would think so. But to be clear, yes, you are correct, it does not share pity timer with a regular, non-golden Classic packs.
/edit: Actually, you know what? Good job pointing that out, the thread was kinda aimed more towards the masses, which could include many new players not knowing this information or realizing it, i will make note of that in the 1st post.

I think it's a very good deal considering that €20 would normally get us just 15 packs. People whine about the adventures being paid again but I think it's only fair, people put in work to deliver the content to us and the price is good for what we get.
So do we know if Zayl, Shadow Cloak will be in the Rise of Shadows set and will we need to purchase all the wings before we open our packs so we don't get a duplicate of him?
From what iv heard, you will be able to craft a regular copy, but golden copy you can get only via owning all the adventure wings.

Feels so bad to buy it with gold, also because is in May and not in April like the expansion, at that time I'm going to have already everything I want to play. So they want to make us spend real money and I'm not really okay with this. It's really big, yes, you can spend a lot of time having fun with this, but Dungeon Run was free... I'm still not sure what I'm going to do

I remember when all the PvE content was paid with gold or money. I actually like getting rewards from playing it so I'm happy to shell out 2800 gold. I just gotta remember to not blow all of it on packs the first day of release!
I still haven’t decided yet. But maybe someone could clarify on an important detail: how exactly does Zayl work? Is it similar to Whizzbang, but with different deck recipes, so I can use it in standard? Or does it only provide decks for the PVE content
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?
