Well, we've got confirmation (again) of the March 17th date for news on the upcoming expansion, this time with a time for the livestream - 9am PT (5pm CET)!
Quote From Blizzard Mark your calendars! On March 17 at 9 a.m. PT, on both Twitch and YouTube, Brian Kibler will kick off our massive reveal showcase stream with Hearthstone Game Director Ben Lee! From there, we’ll dive deeper into our plans with Game Designers Chadd Nervig and Dean Ayala. We’re going to share more than we ever have before, so tune in and be the first to know what’s coming next to the tavern in 2020 and beyond. See you there!
What do you expect to see, given we're seeing 'more than ever before'?

I want achievements!
Elise Starseeker's r34, of course.
I mean yes, but mostly why would you ...
... its too late now
All this waiting better be worth it. Its been a long two weeks.
2020 will be Year of the Phoenix! Hearthstone gets reborn! Here's some possible features based on influencer clues and leaks...
-Battlegrounds will come outa Beta and have events, quests, and rewards!
-Brand new card set that is Outlands inspired, this year will have tons of Burning Crusade influences.
-In game calendar that hypes up events and card set announcements, you will always know what's coming up next in game.
-Tournament mode
-Updated Arena mode with better rewards for higher wins, and new draft methods with sets changing ever month or every other month.
-Custom emotes and bonus game boards available in game shop
-New Hero skins
-Seasonal Mode where the sets usable will be different every couple of months with a ranked version.
-Un-nerfing tons of wild cards so they play as they did back in the day. Raza the Chained back to 0 cost for hero power!
Can we have options to make them appear more than regular game boards?
Maybe a new ROGUE hero skin?
I'd really love an option to check a box on each board to select which ones appear. I'd like the newest one to the one that appears most for me.
Rogues are def in need of a new hero skin!
It feels like new years title will have more symbolism than just association with the expansion theming. "Hearthstone 2.0" would be nice. Think in-game stat tracking for constructed play, increased deck count. Battlegrounds is still in beta, and there's no clear way of monetizing it yet, for such a popular format they will have to come up with some incentives for people there. I wouldn't be surprised if the new expansion came with some sort of Battlegrounds perk on top of the regular things.
I am honestly hyped about what could change in Wild.
I hope we get Kibler also for the last reveal stream.
Historically they've always invited different streamers for the first and last reveal streams.
I'm just glad Kibler is back; I think this is the first time Blizzard asked him for their streams since they banned Blitzchung.
Let's see if Kibler burns another new card this time.
All aboard the hype train!!
Wow, finally a livestream event I can actually watch! (I'm a teacher, and they just cancelled school for the next 2 weeks -- I'll be playing a LOT of Hearthstone this month!)
I like how its on both twitch and youtube. If it was exclusively youtube it may not do so well.
yeah especially after that announcement a while ago saying that Hearthstone was moving away from Twitch?
I guess since Kibler's platorm is Twitch they're having to play both fields.
Kibler's involvement and his use of Twitch to stream are likely not why they chose to include Twitch in the stream. Most likely they are doing both YouTube and Twitch because that's what they've done for reveal streams since maybe Kobolds... I think. Or Witchwood. Regardless, I don't recall if they've done it every reveal, but they've done it for several of them over the past couple years.
The YouTube exclusive streaming deal they announced before are for e-sports streams. The contract between YouTube and Activision Blizzard involves all their games, from HS, to Overwatch, and Call of Duty. It was similar to the contract they had with Twitch two year prior, but reportedly Activision Blizzard got paid about double the money compared to the Twitch contract.
I dont get why they havent just given us the trailer already. Is it really that important to show it on the showcase stream. And to be clear im not mad about it, im just confused.
ps. I hope everyone is doing alright with all this dumb corona around.
The big to-do is not likely just for the expansion, but to reveal some of the big new stuff that "will cement Hearthstone for the next decade". So why not throw in the year/expansion reveal too, right?!
They'll probably open up the stream WITH the trailer, honestly.
HS is big on their musical numbers
I've got to assume that it is that important, given they haven't told us anything yet.
They've said they're sharing more than ever before - maybe there's some big change coming that would be spoiled by showing us anything else beforehand?
