Nope, that's what the new end-of-season rewards look like. You can see what they all are by clicking on the chest next to your rank on the quest log.
Yeah if you add up all of it its 12 packs...
It's 4 packs. Reaching d5 would've got you a 5th pack.
The classic ones are only for the first time you reach that rank.
I had double rare cards as reward, but since I already had all the blue cards, it didn't matter, but it looked a bit odd, getting the same cards over and over again.
same here...got the same two 3 times each
I'm afraid they don't 'add up', ie you dont get all the diamond 10 rewards and all the diamond 5 rewards, etc. The most you get is 5 AoO packs, 1 epic and a bunch of rares for hitting legend.
May all your legendaries be golden.
I love the fact that the non-dupe rule seems to extend to individual card rewards, and that those cards aren't limited to the classic set, as I'd previously assumed. Those rare card rewards plugged quite a few of the gaps in my year of the dragon sets :)
May all your legendaries be golden.
Same here - 3 of my 5 rares for Plat 10 were Pint-Sized Summoner which looked weird.
Is anybody else not getting the "first time" rewards? I am at Gold 8 and still haven't gotten anything.

If you reached gold 8 last month, you already received them then.
So then "first time" rewards means first time getting that rank ever. I thought it meant the first time hitting that rank this month and that was why everybody went back to bronze 10 each month.

Exactly, first time you reach a rank, you get a reward for it (rares, epics, legendary, classic packs), you get those only once.
I much prefer your way :)
All generalizations are false.
Well this is disappointing. One of my favorite things about the new rank system was that you would get rewards as you were ranking, not just after, which would give players a lot more motivation to play ranked.
I would like it if they gave us less rewards for hitting a rank for the first time, but gave it to us every month.

Don't we all? ;)
Anyone else notice, that minus the first time rewards, you actually get less out of the rewards than before? I hit legend last month, 4 packs, 7 rares and 1 epic, ended up netting me less than 400 dust. Just the golden epic from the old system gave more than what I received at the end of this month.
I feel we've been duped. They made it "feel" like we are getting more rewards, but really, unless you're F2P and need the cards for your collection, you now get less at the end of the month than before.
The honeymoon of the new ladder is over, and I'm now seeing what we were really given, and I am not impressed.
Unless one of the future updates for this year includes a change to crafting costs, the ladder/reward change was pretty pointless.
My 12 packs were disappointing as play on NA, EU and Asia (1 epic, 14 rares, 1 golden common)
My normal non shiny epic/rare rewards weren't impressive either.
All in all much less dust value than 3 golden epics I'd normally get. But in fairness better for newer players looking to fill out commons/rares of latest expac (which not many of us need now) and pity timer advancement I guess.
I also object to the golden glow around them when you open the little bundles or see them in the ladder rewards page. They are not golden and dust for a pittance.
Once the first time rewards are claimed then things are a lot less rewarding.
And not a fan of not being able to see opponents rank until lose star bonus. Though I appreciate the idea is you always play the same skill level of players wherever you are on ladder I'd still like to know where on ladder my opponent is.
All generalizations are false.
I like the rewards more with this new ranked system. Even if you get less dust, getting expansion packs is a lot more valuable than the 500 dust I would be getting in the previous ranked system. The packs are also a lot more valuable since the duplicate protection, so maybe you are getting less dust, but you are getting more playable cards. Plus, for a F2P player those 5 packs are the equivalent of 5-7 days of playing. Which means the Legendary for our pity timer is a week closer.
One other thing, this is a lot more exciting than the last system was. Before, I was always excited to play at the start of a new month, but all I got was the same old 500 dust and another boring grind ahead of me. But packs are exciting. When opening packs, you might get a Legendary or extra Epics. And if you low roll and get 40 dust each pack, then you are now that much closer to a good pack.
In short, these rewards are more interesting and exciting. And they are much more useful if you don't have the entire expansion yet. And in my opinion, if you do own the entire expansion you shouldn't be that concerned about missing out on 100 dust.

I couldn't agree more!
I'm also enjoying playing on ladder a lot more. Usually I'd faff about in casual for ages, then spend around 2-5 stressful days making the grind from around r8 to r5. Now that there's a star bonus, losses don't feel as punishing any more - you know that, even if you lose a couple of games in a row, a single win will often make up the lost ground. This means I don't really feel the need to monotonously grind my way up the ladder with the same deck - there's much more freedom to take risks with deck builds as there's less of a punish. I can't really see myself returning to casual now.
May all your legendaries be golden.
I can't really understand your math. So you are saying that your rewards didn't net you 400 dust in comparison to the 400 dust you got from the golden Epic? You literally said 4 packs, 7 rares and 1 epic so in the worst case:
4 packs = 40dust x 4packs = 160 dust
7 rares = 20dust x 7card= 140 dust
1 epic = 100 x 1card = 100 dust
160 + 140 + 100 = 400 dust
in the average case 1 pack = 100 dust so:
(100 x 4) + 140 + 100 = 640 dust
240 more dust than the 400 of the golden epic.
Don't also forget the first time rewards for hitting certain points in ranked that wouldn't exist if it wasn't for this ranked revamp.
Do you still think you are getting less dust?
Reaching Diamond 5 gets you an Epic card, reaching Legend gets the 5th pack
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
I was going to respond to Xarkkal's comment, but your post describes my thoughts precisely. So, thanks.
I'm just going to say, that the new no-duplicate protection rule makes the epic we get from Diamond 5 quite valuable and almost on par with the golden one we used to get in the previous system. If someone gets a shitty or an already possessed epic (in case of a full collection), they will receive only 100 dust, but if it's an epic they were planning to craft anyway, it will have the same 400 dust value as the aforementioned golden epic.
Very very good points. I didn't think about it that way.
