Truthfully, this doesn't even seem like that bad of a card. Plague Scientist was borderline playable, but was often held back by the combo restriction. We've seen how good Toxifin is. Granted, the costs are wildly different. But in a world where your board is constantly filled with Lackeys, this seems like a really reasonable card.
I don't see the current viability for this at all, you need decent rush minions to make this consistent, I guess you could try scalehide's and such but I strongly doubt it would work well. This card will forever be compared to Vanish, thanks blizz.
On the niche scenario where 2 Saps aren't enough to clear big boys and you have the little boys, it can be useful. If only the Priest card was also like this... a reasonably bad card that can provide something in niche scenarios...
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL) Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Wait, so they've now added Poisonous to the Basic set, and they said they wouldn't add more keywords to the Basic set.
This also raises some implications in terms of fan created classes.
Oh how i hate this (not the card itself, but what it represents), now whenever i point out that some custom keyword shouldnt be on a Basic card, ppl can counter with this :( I guess it opens up more possibilities for custom classes, but at the same time ppl will try to make OP cards for Basic set and i dont like that idea :(

If only Rogue played multiple high tempo, 1-mana 1/1 tokens. And maybe if that was the focus of every Rogue deck in the metagame. You'd need something like that for this trash tier card to see play.
Vanish is mass AoE (kind of) in rogue, and stands as a good example of where basic and classic cards are no longer in line with class design. I made a thread about evolving class identity on HearthPwn a while back and flagged Vanish as a card that could justifiably be targeted. (In fact that thread was a response to disbelief about Mike Donais suggesting Mind Blast moving, which is fitting.)
Poisonous however is still very much in rogue, albeit a part that has long been under-/un-used, and replacements to HoF cards do seem to be about re-aligning the evergreen sets with current class identity.
I am glad vanish is gone. The number of games that I have lost because of that card!! Your heart drops when all your hard work is squandered in an instant.
Aberlour 18 Year Old, Balvenie DoubleWood 12, Caol Ila 12, The Arran Malt 14, Auchentoshan Three Wood, Kilchoman Islay 8th edition, Lagavulin 16 Year Old, Glenmorangie Signet, Talisker 10 Year Old.
If you read their whole post they've taken 5 years to determine the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of each class. One weakness they want for Rogue is board clear, and Vanish is a board clear. Hence they decided to remove it. It's existence and persistence in Standard was also apparently limiting their design space for some other rogue cards they wanted to print. Or something..
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Missile Launcher is the only thing that really comes to mind. And maybe a cheap Rush minion for relatively cheap removal + a 3/3 on the board. There are also a few Deathrattle minions that deal damage to the board or enemy minions when they die, I suppose it's good for those too.
A new Free Rogue Minion, Plaguebringer, has been revealed!

Let's just say Vanish died for this, and leave it at that.

Emperor Cobra?
Anyway, RIP Vanish. This card is pretty bad.
What's the most powerful card in Hearthstone?
A credit card.

I suspect this will see play as long as Lackeys are in Standard.
worst community ever
Emperor Cobra is Classic, not Basic.
Some keywords are not allowed to be used on Basic cards, but are allowed on Classic cards. Stealth is one such example.

This may be the best of the HoF replacement cards. Not as good as Vanish, but still playable. Could combo with Wild Pyromancer for a board clear.

I'm honestly not sure why they removed Vanish

This. Although the combo with Wild Pyromancer is nice, too, if Control Rogue is ever a thing.
However, a Sap-like with Twinspell or a minion with Sap effect (other than Kidnapper, I mean) would have been nice replacements for Vanish.
The pleasure is mine.
My last standard decks: nothing special right now.
