This is really good in Libram and/or Pure. A 4/2 Divine Shield for 3 is honestly just good, but getting a 2nd shield makes it really nutty.
Can you use spellburst once per turn for this minion, or just once overall?
Because if you can activate the divine shield each turn, that is very, very powerful.
Not completely sold on this card just yet. It has good stats and the effect is interesting, but it feels like it's easy for your opponent to remove. Seems like a decent 3 drop (mainly for pure paladin) so far, but we will have to see what other kind of cards paladin will get this expansion. Actually i do see some synergy with Libram of Wisdom. IF you manage to keep this alive.
But hey as long as it's not a murloc paladin card, i'm happy!
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Once overall. it's like a delayed battlecry of sort.
Anyway rating, I rate this 5/5, 4/2 DS for 3 is already quite amazing, we saw a 4 mana 4/2 with DS see no play, but 1 mana difference is a lot, plus it has quite a great upside.. though it's weird in sequensing, since you can't buff it to trade, you trade and then buff it, sometimes wasting the spellburst will be the right play though.
A nice 3-drop, but doesn't slot into any paladin archetype right now.
The divine shield granting ability is good, but I think it will rarely matter, especially as paladin does not have a real midrange strategy for this minion to go in where the ability could enable 3-for-1's.
If one emerges, I wouldn't be surprised if this is just too slow to compete with aggro decks.
This post is discussing the wild format.
Either good or bad depending on what else Paladin gets, but right now it seems good.
Seems pretty good in Libram Paladin since you'll likely be able to proc the effect somewhat consistently. Definitely a bit worrying at 2 health since so many things can clear it though.
Woah, this is powercreep Scarlet Crusader C'Thun's Chosen
Put your faith in the Light!
Nothing I'd consider stand-out, but it should be a nice addition to divine shield synergy. Reminds me a bit of the [Hearthstone Card (Glass Knight) Not Found] from Witchwood.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
as a current fan of paladin due to their cool books, I like this card since its super easy to trigger.
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
If you manage to reliably get the spellburst divine shield, this minion would be op. But since it doesn't have rush, you have to wait for a turn to use the first one and with 2hp it won't be hard to get removed, before you get the chance, I think.

The Glass Knight is crying in a corner.
Arena > Wild > Standard
the statlline alone is already great, but I wonder how the mechanic works? Will it activate on a spell even if it still has DS or do you actually have to hold off on spells until the first shield was popped?
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The ability is a bit hard to get going sometimes, but a 3 mana 4/2 with Divine Shield is already fairly strong by itself, so it might see play.
The main thing keeping me from really liking this card is that you can't use the Spellburst effect on the turn you play this card, which makes it much easier to deal with her. But I am probably underestimating it.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Way too slow. Maybe if this had Rush this would be valuable. But that 2 HP makes this a 3-mana waste.
4/2 with divine shield is already pretty imposing on 3.
The spellburst effect means its possible this just gets more than 1 value trade, which is pretty nuts.
Goes into pure paladin for sure, but can it cut it in a non pure lists? Maybe in secret pally. Its just on the borderline of being good really.
I think it gives it a divine shield right after you play a spell, after this is played on board.
Means if it already have a divine shield, then nothing will happen if you happen to play a spell after it. Works only once though.
Curving this card into Blessing of Kings is bonkers. And yet I'm still not so sold on the card. It's an aggressive card in a class whose best aggro tools live in Wild.
That being said, If this card plus some more aggressively stated cards are released in Paladin, they can make Librams into more of a aggressive Midrange deck rather than the slow Midrange deck we currently have that can't find a consistent spot on the metagame right now. This also synergises really well with First Day of School, which I also believe is a more aggressive oriented card.
We'll see if aggro Pally resurfaces again next expansion, but I believe this card is not the card that will make the deck but rather a card that's splashed in the deck for curve purposes (and will most likely do an amazing job at it).
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
This looks like it will be a staple in Libram Paladin. The fact that you get a great stat line for 3 mana, but it has divine shield and can get it back after you play your next spell. It will be a MUST target when it hits the table against every deck.
A very solid card.
A 4/2 with DS for 3 with an upside to re-activate shield with a cheap spell.
A+ name.
Looking forward to trying this card in my Galvadon paladin. Very nice, simple and decently powerful card.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
This can be followed up with a Blessing of Kings, really powerful.
This card will become the best 3-drop Paladin minion in Standard upon its release. Outside of Angling Rod, the 3 spot is kind of weak for Paladin overall. This makes Paladin have stronger tempo plays and synergizes well in Libram/Pure archetypes.
This could be pretty good but need support. The Glass Knight had a similar mechanic but never really worked.
Honestly I don't see this being very good. Reminds me a lot of The Glass Knight, which looks interesting on paper, but in application on the game board, the effect doesn't benefit you and is too easy for your opponent to play around. Maybe the Spellburst will make this different and I'm wrong, but right now I'm not sold.
Seconding Starscreams question here: how often can you trigger the effect? And why is a paladin in a necromancy school?!
You can trigger it exactly once.
The fluffy answer to the second question is that they aren't at a necromancy school since the part of the school they are attending is teaching paladin/priest and paladin/warrior things, and has nothing to with necromancy. The mechanical answer is because they couldn't leave out every class that wouldn't use necromancy (which is nearly all of them).
Seems like a solid buff target, particularly if she comes down on curve. It'd be a lot more exciting to see a slightly lower attack and rush, though, so you can ensure you get real value out of the Spell Burst.
Some people are calling this an insane card, but I just don't see it. It's great when you're ahead, but the moment you're behind this doesn't help you catch up and with how hearthstone is, I think that means it'll just be a solid card. It's not a bad card but I'm not sure it's this beast either.
This is a solid minion, 4 attack means it'll eat most minions it bumps up against, and being able to regain divine shield means it can keep making positive trades.
The lack of taunt means your opponent can walk around it, however, but giving this person taunt can be dangerous, and secrets can also make this minion stronger to go up against
The C'Thun lady felt awful to play against : this is basically the same and your next spell has a divine shield attached to it. A real pain in the ass.
Elders Scrolls : Legends / Runeterra
Very strong, will see play in any midrangey Paladin list, like Pure Libram Paladin.
I don’t agree with the comparison to The Glass Knight. Goody can:
This is to say I reckon Goody will be a drastically better fit in tempo decks than TGK ever was.
Strong powercreep already without the spellburst effect. Fluffy Broom can give this rush so you'll be able to trade and give it divine shield again the turn it is summoned, maybe with something like First Day of School. And we still haven't seen almost anything from the new set so there are bound to be more synergies that will make this card work.
nice addition to Libram Paladin
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
The Glass Knight triggers with healing, and healing in Paladin is highly inefficient, except for few cards, and clunky, since Control decks don't hurt you enough.
Spellburst triggers only once, but it is far more reliable as a trigger.
Looks good, not great. I love the flavor though!
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Adding divine shield to your divine shield, so you can divine shield after you divine shielded
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Kind of similar to The Glass Knight albeit a more limited effect, but Goody Two-Shields is still better especially with numerous cheap spells that Paladin has right now. Hitting this with a discounted Libram is already good, and you can put two of them in your deck.
Card art is great too, love the youthful expression on the young paladin's face.
Those are both neutrals, paladin is the divine shield class so it's not creep
Those are neutral cards e.g. they are weake

I'm torn as to whether this card is good, or excellent. Judging by the great stats for 3 mana AND a Divine Shield, this will no doubt find a home in any Paladin deck worth its salt. Of course, it remains to be seen how impactful Spellburst is, but a second Divine Shield can't possibly be bad, right?
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Even without triggering Spellburst, this card will be an amazing on curve play. Will definitely find its way into many Paladin decks and might single-handedly win early game for Paladins in Arena, having Shielded Minibot flashbacks already.

It's a good card and Paladin have access to a lot of cheap spell. So the probabilty that this card can trade and regain the divine shield is high imo.
Right now can be used in Libran Paladin but probably can be used in any paladin archetype
Maybe i'm wrong, but i think this looks like an arena card for me, where you can sometimes make value trade from the effect.
Well, it looks like it is time to dust off Bolvar, Fireblood once again and give it 'the old college try' ......... I'm sorry. I'll show myself out now.
Given that the librams are a thing, I could see this being a pretty decent card to try to hold the board with
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
Goody Two-Shields looks like it easily replaces Bronze Explorer in Libram Paladin. Great stats with Divine Shield for 3 mana and the Spellburst effect is the icing on the cake. The fact that you don't need to trigger the Spellburst effect for Goody Two-Shields to be good just makes it a go-to 3 drop for any tempo Paly deck that isn't Murlocs.
For glory, honor, and gold!
I think aggressive Pallies will love this.
With Stats and Effects like these, you could go 3-for-1.

This is gonna have a lot of use
I think it will be instant aggro target because opponent does not want this going off twice.
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
As one of the two people to have ever played with The Glass Knight, I'm a pretty big fan of this card. The body on its own is fine on its own but being able to refresh the shield once is incredibly nice. Seems like a natural inclusion into Libram Paladin, especially since you can play it turn 3, attack into something turn 4 and then refresh the shield without spending too much mana on a spell as hopefully the Libram of Wisdom will cost 0-1 mana, allowing you to develop while still clearing the opponent's board.
Oh and it's also nice to know that paladin isn't stopping with the 4/2 statlines anytime soon.
Cardboard wizard and dog haver.
Interesting paladin card I want to try... I has "Taunt" as if it lives it gets another DS
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Two shields feels like it could be nutty.
Getting the dream of curving into Blessing of Kings seems legitimately bonkers.
One of the best cards in the set, overstated body and annoying to deal with.
If Paladin finally claws its way back to meta, this card will surely be one of the reasons why. It doesn't do much if you're behind, but if you're the aggressor, it's extremely annoying to deal with.
Wow.
This is the sort of card that paladin really needed. I hope this works and helps push it back into the limelight.
Super strong card in early AND late game. Hard to remove and has enough attack to kill (almost) every other 3 or even 4 drop.
It's a good card, especially with the discounted librams.
nice effect and cost but the health makes it seem like it will die easily
All hail the banshee queen.
Seems like it has the potential to be very annoying.
I'm excited for divine shield support, but I don't know that the divine shield archetype will ever be a "real" archetype in Paladin, even with more cards like this.
Just once per play.
Good tempo play, Paladin got some cheap spellburst enablers to keep pressuring, including First Day of School. Paladin could still use some sort of identity, but unflavorful midrange/aggro can do the work from time to time. Took a while to figure what to do with Shaman, so there's always hope.
I don't know if it's just ok or if it is a good card?
Two words:
1. Auto
2. Include
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This card is pretty good, not the best but certainly not bad. Also I love the name.
I liked Kripp's analysis of this card: While it doesn't see play, Scarlet Crusader is technically a playable card and this is that +1/+1 and with a potential second Divine Shield. I like it!
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Great art, great effect... Great card.
Auto include on every pally deck unless murlocs.
By The Holy Light!
This feels so very pushed, and yet I don't hate it? I think because everything it does is just strong stats and protecting itself from damage - you can still interact, you can still play against it, it doesn't take anything out, it's just... good.
Plus, I mean, great name. 10/10
Welcome to the site!
Very sturdy minion. The best thing about it is definitely its name, though!
