Is it me or is this article unfinished? The YT link at the bottom should show a clickable video, right? And what of the list of Protectors, Fighters, and Casters? Currently, those are empty with a big gap.
I am going in blind, but if Borderlands 3 is the baseline quality of every future game, I will be a happy camper. I cannot wait to play it myself when it comes out on Steam.
So, I finally got Warrior as my first class above 1500 wins in preparation to auto-receive the next tier hero portrait which surely will be added next rotation, I think.
I only have 3 Gameplay achievements active in total, which are probably the most difficult ones left to complete:
Also the only uninteractive deck that got enabled from the latest expansion is owl lock and I highly doubt that this was the intentional use case for Tamsin's Phylactery.
Owl was literally the first card that popped into my mind when I saw Tamsin's Phylactery, so if it wasn't an intentional interaction, everyone on Team 5 is massively unqualified.
That said, I agree that they do not intentionally lie in promotional videos, and I certainly don't recall one where they say anything about uninteractive decks.
Was playing Wonderlands yesterday, and it's fun. Currently playing the Graveborn while I freeze skeletons with my SMG.
From what I heard from reviewers and commenters, it has all the best qualities of Borderlands 3 with better writing and additional quality of life improvements. It has a "more of the same" feel which might bum some people out, but it's what I wanted so more is fine with me.
I'm proud of them actually for making a mechanic that's just interesting with its different moving parts and multiple steps. In a vacuum it let's you do fun little mini combos to get cards that have a nice impact but aren't wincons. It's how Hearthstone SHOULD be. In reality a lot of these cards will take a backseat to broken stuff from this year. Hopefully they'll have the balls to see it through and make the game more about fun midrange play where you win by making smaller plays at the right time and get to box with your opponent more and do cool stuff like dredging a nice card that can give you a small edge.
If Hunter can get a 1- or 2-Cost Naga to play on curve before this (and, let's face it, they'll probably need more than one cheap naga to seriously consider running this since you can't guarantee getting your one naga on curve with this in hand) it might be a good tool for aggressive Hunter decks. Right now, it feels like too much of a contortion for an archetype (and class) that would rather just play the best cheap cards and not bother thinking about Naga-style synergies. I think Naga Hunter, if they get a few more good Naga, could be a thing and that's likely the only place we see this card.
It's also frustrating how unbalanced the tasks are. For example, I think everyone's final task is "deal 450 damage to heroic bosses." As the final task, it should be harder, but that's a piece of cake. On the other hand, the Kurtrus one was PAINFUL. You have to use an ability with cooldown and you can't choose the target. It took SO MUCH grinding. Same is true for any task you need to use summoned minions like Krush's devilsaur or Mukla's brother.
Yeah, there are some serious grinds in a few of them. I've now completed all the tasks for every merc that wasn't released a couple of weeks ago, and recall a few that just baffled me as to why they set the number so high. Warmaster Voone had one that required you to kill 2 enemies with Axe Throw... 150 times! For an ability capped at 8 damage due to having no spell school, and requiring setup just to get that far, it was ridiculous.
I think mercs they've added later have been less bad though. Long'xin had a similar task for her Celestial Breath ability (both were task 17 I think) that only required dealing 40 damage to neighbors, which was soooooo much easier. That said, I was a bit confused why her task 16 (likewise for Chi-Ji) was to deal 500 damage to heroic bosses, when they kept the same task 18 as everyone else. As you said, it's not that bad and probably quicker than the usual task 16 of dealing 900 damage to role X, but it was weird.
Dean did mention they would have to adjust the reward track and rewards gain, which we dont know how it would look, it could as well be boosted to accommodate for what ur saying, we simply dont know.
Good on curve if you can trigger it. Not the end of the world if you cant.
Face hunter would probably play it, mostly because they've lost most of their early game to rotation, and this card is a decent turn 3 even without triggering the buff.
All that needs to happen now is an early game naga. And a card like this is practically teasing one yet to be revealed. There's currently, in neutral, only two 1 drops and one 2 drop revealed. Im somewhat certain that there would at least be a 1 mana 1/3 naga at the end, or some 2 mana naga.
Who knows, maybe we'll get a midrange naga hunter out of all this at the end.
A decent card on its own, comparable to Landscaping. The buff is somewhat significant on curve, assuming you can trigger it.
Its likely to only exist in face hunter, because in nearly every other archetype hunter would prefer to do something else than curving out, and face hunter would likely go through a massive revamp, having lost nearly all its good cards. Unless of course we see the return of midrange hunter, that primarily play nagas, this card would slot in there too.
The only thing missing now is an early naga. There might be one at the end, because so far we've seen few 1 and 2 drops, and theres usually at least two of them. At very least Im expecting a cheap naga somewhere, maybe a 2 mana 2/3 naga with no other description, or a 1 mana 1/3 naga
This looks interesting. Closest card I can see to compare it to would be Hellfire, and that one hits everything and is twice the mana cost. This one is a bit delayed since the chosen minion has to die first. I could see this being used to disincentivize your opponent from attacking a certain minion.
I had to try it a couple of times, but definitely Cariel is a must.
Interesting iteration happens also with leeroy and rokara, if you use her 2nd ability while using leeroy 3rd it could proc before the banner attacks, or more simple try to find the treasure boots for rokara before the final boss
If Im not mistaken they also ported the treasures you get into duels as well, so all the sr adventurers would be up for selection, which would be interesting because every one of them are fairly broken. Perhaps team5 have made some balancing, because otherwise those treasures would just win the entire game on their own.
Nice to know that at least with these guys I dont have to bother unlocking their stuff. Being unable to select the class I want in duels gets annoying when all I wanted to do was to unlock the treasures and hp.

Beat That Bounty Boss!
I thought the most annoying task so far was one of Jaina's: destroy N enemies with Water Elemental.
Not just summon the things, but make sure they get the kill shot. Cookie's target dummies would have sped this up, but still irritating.
Also the Voone one you mentioned, ugh.

This is basically depends on a cheap Naga which is decent to play on it's own. Other wise won't see play

Naga's Pride is a New Hunter Card in Hearthstone's Voyage to the Sunken City Expansion
Won't see play.
Just a worse version of Petting Zoo
There will be better 3 mana plays and if you don't have a 1 or 2 mana Naga to play before turn 3 it just sucks.
Trying to build your deck around this card wouldn't make sense.
2 star card since they have beast tag.
