This is undoubtedly a very very slow quest. Probably not good enough or consistent enough, especially in a meta where a lot of decks just want to end the game by turn 6. But whatever, it's a win con other than "remove every threat and hit fatigue" So I can see it being run anyway.
Being able to silence multiple targets for 1 mana is strong, but the tradeable keyword pushes this from just good to bonkers. I couldn't imagine a control priest that wouldn't want this in their arsenal.
I am not entirely sure how good this will be. It is a nice payoff for an underappreciated archetype, but it's a lot of setup for just more stats. Spending three mana on a random 8-drop sounds cool, but by the time you get to that point in the game the one extra big dude won't be that spectacular.
Well, that's nice to know that outofcards will also be part of the new expansion cheer as well. Im glad that the winners will not be chosen based on upvotes or we'll be seeing more of the same with that infamous theorycraft incident back when blizz tried their hand at it.
Here's one of my decks, trying to somehow make the rats in hunter work.
It doesn't seem terribly hard to cast a fire spell three consecutive turns in a row as long as you put in a little effort. The main downside of this card lies not in the difficulty of the set up, but in the amount of time it takes to set up. If you need burn damage to kill your opponent, you won't want to wait three turns to get there. And if you need to kill something, you won't want to wait three turns to kill it.
I mean they did do board effects via dormant minions in PVE before dormant was an actual mechanic, so they did toy with that on several occasions. I guess we will see what they come up with. I can see how UI might be the biggest obstacle, especially since HS is a multi-platform game, so it needs to slot in smoothly on different devices.
The tradeable makes it decent, but otherwise it is trash. It is cheap, which makes it better than similar cards like Frostwolf Warlord or Heroic Innkeeper. But it is still too much work for not enough payoff.
G'day! We've got some United in Stormwind mega pack bundles to give out courtesy of Blizzard. We're going to be doing something a little bit different this time around that involved deckbuilding with the new cards.
We are giving away THREE Mega Bundles in total in this giveaway.
How to Enter the Stormwind Deckbuilding Giveaway
Create a Hearthstone deck on Out of Cards via our deckbuilder and save it to the site.
Your deck must contain some United in Stormwind cards.
Your deck must have 30 cards in it.
Your deck may be for the Standard or Wild formats.
Your deck may be for any of Hearthstone's 10 classes.
The name of your deck must be descriptive of the archetype.
Your deck must have the "Theorycraft" tag.
You may use an existing deck you have created on the site for United in Stormwind.
Write, at a minimum, a 2 paragraph guide (170-200 words total) to teach players how to play your theorycrafted deck.
Your guide is written after your deck gets saved from the deckbuilder. Click on the "Edit Guide" button on your deck page.
Guide plagiarism is grounds for disqualification.
Try to talk about the new cards and how they work with the archetype.
Embed your saved deck as a reply to this thread using the "BBCode" found above the deck list.
How Winners Will be Chosen
One bundle will be given away to a deck guide author as chosen by Out of Cards staff.
We will be judging the guides and picking the "best" one to receive the bundle.
We're ultimately going to pick a guide that does its best to educate the community on their theorycraft deck.
Formatting will be considered, so make use of headings, horizontal rules, and other available options where it makes sense.
Tips: Do not change the default font sizes or fonts. Do not bold your entire text. Do not use text colors (card bbcode is okay though!). Link cards using card bbcode.
Two bundles will be given away randomly to two deck guide authors (one bundle each).
All respondents to this thread that follow the above rules will have their name entered once into a list.
The list will be inserted into random.org and we will have the site pick two winners for us.
The number of upvotes on your deck do not matter, though we do encourage participants to find decks they like from other community members and give them some appreciation using the upvote function.
If we find anyone abusing the downvote mechanic on decks, you will be disqualified.
Staff are unable to win the bundle that is chosen by staff members.
How Winners Will be Contacted
We will be contacting winners via private message on Out of Cards.
The competition entry period ends on August 2 at 9 AM Eastern.
We expect to post the winners list in a news article, and private message the winners, by 11 AM Eastern on August 2.
It's nice that this minion is tradeable, but after all, it's just a stat bomb. No more, no less. Won't see any constructed play and it's a mediocre Arena pick at best. Win-more cards like these never do well in Arena.
Preparation is pretty balanced these days. Hot Streak is limited to only Fire spells but has the upside of being a Fire spell itself. So this seems pretty balanced as well.

I genuinely think the Quest might be a worse long term win condition than C'thun.

New Warrior Minion - Harbor Scamp
Just a beautiful card. 2 mana 2/2 that draws a card is strong, especially in an aggro deck that can barf out their hand really fast.
New Shaman Spell - Charged Call
I am not entirely sure how good this will be. It is a nice payoff for an underappreciated archetype, but it's a lot of setup for just more stats. Spending three mana on a random 8-drop sounds cool, but by the time you get to that point in the game the one extra big dude won't be that spectacular.

This is the question I’ve been wanting answered for months now. Thank you Slysssa for asking it!
It was one of Dean’s tersest answers this week. He really doesn’t seem interested in talking about Mercenaries.
