I don't remember hearing this anywhere so I'm curious if anyone knows. When you use the tradeable effect does the card draw a random card and then shuffle into your deck, or is it placed on the bottom of the deck? It doesn't really specify on the HS website either, just saying "Cards with the Tradeable keyword can be played like normal, or traded with a random card in your deck for the low price of 1 Mana.". Thought that maybe it literally trades places with a card in your deck at random instead of shuffling, which if so could be interesting with Lorekeeper Polkelt in the game... But likely not since I think the game doesn't predetermine deck order and just picks a card at random to be the card you draw (unless you've played Polkelt).
So has anyone seen a Twitter post, or some other clarification out there from a dev? Since it doesn't specify that it goes to the bottom of the deck I'm going to assume it shuffles in, as the HS team's attitude on text the last 2-3 years has shifted to not always clarifying unless the effect does something different than expected.
Nice going. Turns out it was actually active all the way up until the patch - I gathered my Ame server rewards good 7 hours after the reset and managed to land another Stealer for full value as well. Glad the packs decided to be so generous to us.
My dream of making it work in Hunter for that big finishing damage boost has yet to come to fruition (damn those other decks for getting in the way), but one cannot become so easily discouraged from travelling all the way to Plaguelands.
Should be far from figured out now, after this small shake-up. The devs like to adjust how the offering systems work for treasures and buckets without telling us the exact details, so it's then down to the community to find the new lines through testing.
You know, every time such claims show up anywhere (Reddit, Twitter, forums, etc.) some folks become upset and speak up - so there is still at least that small passionate community which cares. We get asked about Duels content as well. Sadly some of the design choices still limit the ability of many people to be able to try this game mode without a larger collection, otherwise it wouldn't surprise me if it was able to eventually overtake Arena.
Probably ends up that the only reason you play him is for Westfall/the 2/2 Adventurer. The other options imo are awful for the extra wait time:
Ironforge: Much more healing than Luckysoul Hoarder, and probably the same amount of time waiting for healing to come in, but Luckysoul Hoarder is run because of Soul Fragment synergy.
Eastern Plaguelands: Compare contrast with Imprisoned Antaen. You can run two of Antaen, even run them back to back, and they were pretty effective in early Ashes of Outlands since the opponent had little time to build up a board big enough to soak the damage burst AND deal with the 10/6 body afterwards, especially not back to back and/or with Priestess of Fury. This however, gives way too much time to your opponent to set up a board to soak up the random damage, and by turn 8, a 3/3 body is pretty ignorable.
While I agree with what you are saying here, I still see no reason to play this for the 2/2 adventurer either. If that's what you're going for, isn't Devouring Ectoplasm just better?
Definitely looks underwhelming, but I have a feeling this card will soon make a lot more sense with more cards being announced. Some synergies with armor or the new tradeable mechanic can turn this card into a frequent sight on ladder.
Board clears have always seen play. This one won't be any different. Also good in combination with Sorcerer's Gambit as this is a fire spell and buys you time.
The first thing that stood out to me was the lack of the swirl in the middle, but I think this is great! As more and more expansions are released I think having a center image/logo that represents the expansion in the middle while putting the swirl on another portion of the pack like we see in the Stormwind packs is a great idea. We'll see if they keep this trend moving forward.
Looks super fun to play! I guess we'll find out if it's actually going to be any good. One redeeming aspect of this card is that the first and second reward are pretty decent, so maybe not all hope is lost if it takes a while to get to Arcanist Dawngrasp.
You'll probably stick this in a deck with many rush or charge cards. That way you can make sure to get the most out of this card, because if your opponent is constantly clearing your board, playing this on a minion you just summoned isn't nearly as good.
Would love to draft this in Arena, as is probably going to be the case for most mounts.
I feel as though this card is getting underestimated. As cheese said, not many classes can kill it t1. A paladin could play it on t1 then follow up with a Hand of Adal on t2. It reminds me of when paladin played knight of anointment on 1 and used the hand it drew with it on 2. The only issue is you would rather play knight of anointment on 1 instead of this on 1. I am for sure going to give this a shot early on.
This is definitely a strong play on turn 1 especially if you can buff it. The problem is that literally any later than turn 1 and it is completely useless. Even going second you will have only seen roughly 16-17% of your deck by that point. Even if you hard mulligan with two copies you may still at best get it once every other game. And even then there is no guarantee you will be able to follow up with Hand of A'dal.
It’s riot I don’t know why I expected anything different. I need a different job with less down time and hopefully less people trying to kill me. Or at least consequences for people trying to kill me so I can stop playing mobile games.
Echo seems about right. Kill wave one. Revived them with rally. Killed wave two. Revived them with rally. Didn’t have a response for wave three. Denial and Nopify have just gained a metric fuckton of value. I was looking forward to being able to play a bunch of different decks. Looks like I’ll need SI or Ionia in one of my slots.
Fun card, but not very good. Useful in mill decks?
This isn't really the kind of card you would use in mill since it triggers on a deathrattle meaning that it is likely to be added to your opponent's hand during their turn and then played immediately. You would be better off running King Mukla.
This is the only Tradeable card we've seen so far that really benefits from being Tradeable: opponent has no weapon? Toss it back. I would love to see Tradeable on other tech cards (anti-secret, anti-tribe, etc).
Solid, versatile card. Rush has proven to be a great ability, so there's that.
Now, if there would ever be a way to give the Tradeable keyword to a card that doesn't already have it, that could be absolutely bonkers. Now way we'd ever see that, right?
This card is very strong. Obviously, you need to have a large hand for it to be worth it, but it's neutral and can be run in any deck that knows it can fill its hand consistently. Heck, just run Evocation!

New Warlock Spell - The Demon Seed
Private nightmare said it best, this is a control killer. In wild I imagine this takes the slot of a soulfire in a Darkglare deck.

New Neutral Minion - Peasant
Aggresive arena decks wouldn't be sad to draft this card. That's about the only angle I can see this card getting any play.
Why the lack of rogue heroes is so frustrating
Devs: "Next Expansion, we'll have a unique hero portrait like never before."
Player: "Rogue Hero this time, right?"
Devs: *confused face*
Player: "Rogue Hero this time, right??"

It is really cool to see how the pack evolved. I think it ended up being the best looking one of all the iterations.

New Neutral Minion - Rustrot Viper
Cards like this are the reason the Tradeable keyword exists.
It's a tech card that is safe to run in your deck since if it ends up being a dead draw you can just opt to not draw it. Wonderful card.

Caravans have barely seen play because they never last, even with 3 health. Yes, this comes down on turn 1, but still, 1 health? Nope.
