Finally, neutral 7-drop that can corrupt Tickatus.

So... Mutanus is somewhat of a reverse Gral, the Shark, eh? 

Overhyped? The card has just been revealed. People are still rubbing their eyes to confirm this card is real.

Hearthstone cards work based on a plain reading of the text. So if it doesn't say "discard," nothing that DOES say discard can trigger off of it.

Basically the cornerstone of Shaman decks from now until...the next best substitute arrives.

Control, Aggro, Midrange. All of them will run this and build aaround it approprietly.

As it stands, there are only 9 Shaman spells that aren't Nature: Devolving Missiles, Guidance, Primordial Studies, Revolve, Deathmatch Pavilion, Feral Spirit, Molten Blast, Nofin Can Stop Us and Totemic Reflection.

Out of these only Missiles, and Feral Spirit can be considered universally good enough, but Shaman doesn't actuallly rely on Missiles like Mage does and Feral Spirit is far from necessary.

Guidance and Studies will become less and less relevant the more the discover pool is diluted so there absence won't be missed and everything else is part of specific archetypes that you can still build with this card, because as long as you add enough Nature spells into the deck (most of which are usually run in those decks anyways) you still have a good chance of getting your mana's worth (and drawing just a single spell isn't horrible either).

Definitely considering crafting a golden Mutanus. If you're going to piss people off, piss them off in GOLD.

Initial reaction: I think the card is awesome!  That said, it might be too expensive to really make an impact in the current meta.  If it becomes more control or combo oriented, then Mutanus can shine.  But right now... maybe if it was 6 mana.

Wha? The average minion right now HAS to have better than 2/2 stats, so I don't buy that it's "a 7 mana 6/6 in most matchups." I'll bet the average is more like 7/8 or more.

Although that's not considering the times when your opponent has zero minions in hand. But just having that information (except against No Minion Mage) has value in and of itself.

The meta is always changing, though, and you'd better believe that combo will be ascendent again sometime this year.

I feel like you can drop "potential".

As it stand, basically all the relevant Shaman Spells are Nature and the amount of great elementals they have means that you#re definitely running at least a handful of those.

Devolving Missiles is the only non-nature spell you'd really insist on running alongside this (and maybe Primordial Studies) and even that one can probably be cut now that you have tutors for both Lilypad Lurker and Hex.

Mutanus looks a bit overhyped tbh.

Dirty Rat worked because it only cost 2-mana which means you didn't have to invest your entire turn to disrupt the opponent. This is only valid in control vs control matchups and even there mileage may vary.

I could see it being run in Priest if only to have a realistic counter against Tickatus and other win conditions such as Liadrin (not that they had trouble with that one anyways). Control Warrior might do the same.

We don't exactly live in a combo meta anymore.

I already hate Mutanus SO much

Mutanus will be what people will say is hearthstones answer to tickatus. But in that respect it's a joke for combo disruption you better hope you can coin it out on turn 6 against a druid that's had 10 mana for 2-3 turns already and had bad draw. Other than druid and tickatus it is pretty good in a midrange meta. Havent had that since what scholomance? For a couple weeks? It's a 7 mana 6/6 in most matchups you will see on ladder.

7 mana 5/5 remove a minion from opponents hand is a great card

I don't think discard-regaining cards will apply to this, so it's a hyper-Rat. Very cool!
