Ok, you're not using removal for their Blades/Sand Soldiers, you're using minions like House Spider or Draven to block them. If they remove Azir from their board they get much less value which is completely worth it since they need to use 3 mana to play him again, so it's technically 5 mana to do that. If you had Culling the turn they play Azir, then they effectively lost Azir on that turn which is very good for you. Unless you're talking about NopeifyBADCARDNAME which is completely fair. Though I don't see it often being run over Lead and Follow but again that's just talking about deck variations. Other ways to kill Azir could be done through Thermogenic Beam, Tri-beam Improbulator, and Ravenous Flock (though this one doesn't happen much for me). Their other minions are fairly easy to remove since they die to Mystic Shot or Flock except for the Marshal and Azir. Homecoming isn't much of an issue when you can also just kill their unit, and by the time Farron comes down there usually isn't many minions. If you used Tri-beam you probably don't mind too much if they used Homecoming, you don't often get to use a big Tri-beam in this matchup since all you want to do is remove, so you're using it for removal over a juicy 6+ mana minion.

At least when I'm playing this specific matchup, most exchanges of spells are favored for me rather than my opponent. I win this matchup a lot too but I can't really credit it to my skills as much since I don't actually play Ranked.

Good luck to all finalists! Only 7 this time - were there really that few entries this week not to allow an eighth?

According to Shadows, there was roughly a six-way tie for eighth place, hence the decision to only have 7 finalists.

It's an interesting challenge, but all but four of the classes were removed from the competition, leaving those who aren't experienced with those classes in the dust.

1.- Uldum. The main idea of a challenging boss that doesn't really die in one shot (Sometimes you kill it sometimes you don't) is fantastic. Plus is the most customization heavy of the dungeon adventures. It adds even more replayability. The main idea of dungeon run in general is that of a Roguelite so, as a big fan of the genre. I love them all.

2.- As stated above, all the rogulite/likes are a must play for me. And adding that to a game I love, like Hearthstone, it's just a pair made in heaven! Wanting to see what Mercenaries looks like!

    3.- One word. YES.

I wouldn't call Irelia Azir tier 0 (not sure if swim did, yet to watch the video) since it has hard counters: scar grounds, Fiora and Dragons.

Actually, in the hands of a skilled player, Irelia Azir doesn't really have any hard counters. Even their worst matchups are closer to a 55/45 than a 70/30.

The trick is that they need to have a build that allows them options (particularly having Homecoming), and they need to have a lot of practice with the deck. But if those things are true, we're actually seeing a deck that can pretty easily steal wins from its worst matchups. Which incidentally sounds a lot like TF/Fizz.

Mono-Fiora is probably the worst matchup in the game for Azir/Irelia, but even in that matchup, the Fiora player has a 13% chance to not draw Fiora (Entreat version) by turn 3, so they are starting with a bare minimum winrate of 13% against their worst matchup because the opponent's deck can just lose to itself. But it's even worse than that for Fiora, because of Homecoming. If the Azir/Irelia player has Homecoming in their deck, and they draw it, AND they use it skillfully, the Fiora player stands a strong chance of losing. Now, obviously, the Fiora deck has ways to respond to a Homecoming, but only if they leave mana open for those responses, and only if they actually draw those responses as well. But the point is this - even against their worst matchup, Azir/Irelia still has a reasonable way to win the game, without even needing to highroll.

My favourite solo adventure content was definitely Icecrown. I just don't find content compelling if I can't build my own deck from my collection (solo content aside, I love Duels because I can build my own starting deck and often choose buckets that synergies well with what I've chosen, but I don't like BGs or Arena much at all; I would never play them just for fun). Icecrown was enough of a challenge that it felt like an accomplishment to win, and the card packs and legendary waiting at the end were a compelling reward. Older adventures were not challenging enough to have particularly fun gameplay for a player with a decent card collection, though I did enjoy them for the narrative and rewards. Older heroic adventures have enough of a challenge to them that I do like to play them just for fun, but because the rewards are purely cosmetic, I only play them when I have some reason for not wanting to do PvP content that day. Dungeon Run and Rastakhan's Rumble were a bit fun; I didn't mind doing them when I had a quest to do so, but I enjoyed them less than anything that let me build my own deck, and the lack of rewards meant that I would only play them when I had a quest for it. Witchwood was similar, but had a more compelling narrative, such that I definitely wanted to defeat each of the final bosses. The Puzzle Lab was also quite fun, but the lack of rewards made it not as compelling as Icecrown. The Dalaran Heist and Tombs of Terror sounded good in concept, but because the cost-reward ratio was worse than simply buying card packs, I just couldn't justify buying them. Book of Heroes and Book of Mercenaries are totally worth playing for the story, but the lack of deck building really cuts down on the fun factor for me.

Given the above, it's no surprise that I would not be at all interested in Dungeon Run being updated with new cards, treasures, and bosses. I would prefer that effort to be put into Duels, or more challenging and rewarding solo content like Icecrown.

Heist was most fun with all those new heroes and variations (I would love to have chance to buy/earn some of Heist heroes as skins) but Dungeon Run is close second.

I would love new bosses and cards in those modes. Maybe not as change directly to those modes but as new Heist 2.0/Dungeon Run 2.0 so I would be able to choose if I play old or new version of those.

Thanks! Now it finally shows my image. Weird that it does not always work 🤔

You need to insert direct url, not gallery url. You can tell if its direct by the file extension at the end, for example .JPG .PNG etc.

Personally, the kobolds dungeon run was my favorite single player content they released so definitely yes. The dalaran heist, tombs of terror and other variations had interesting gimmicks with the different hero powers but I don't remember them being as fun or replayable. As for the book of heroes content, I could care less about the campaigns gameplay-wise or lore-wise, I just finish them for the packs.

Most blade dance have on play effect, that already put you in tricky spot, you either have to accept the damage from the blades and sand soldier and use the removal  on the units or use removal on the sand soldiers/blades in which case they still have the attack token and their units, either way you will take damage, Then there is Azir, with 5 health he is difficult to get rid off unless you have culling strike and that still cost 3 mana and they only need 2 to keep him alive. They also have homecoming to recall captain Farron and any big unit that you get from Tri-beam.

So yeah Ez/Draven have the tools to counter Irelia/Azir but they also have the tools to play around the counters.

  • Would You Want to See Hearthstone's Dungeon Run Updated With New Cards & Bosses? Game Designer Matt London Asks

The answer would have to be yes, only because the original dungeon run was poorly designed, with almost shit bosses at the start and absolutely crushing ones at the end. The number of times I've reached the last 2 bosses only to be stomped is near uncountable, and given that the rewards for finishing the run is only awarded once all 9 classes are done, that's pretty brutal.

But really, where's the merc game mode that was touted a few months ago? I rather be playing something fresh for a change to be honest.

  • Would You Want to See Hearthstone's Dungeon Run Updated With New Cards & Bosses? Game Designer Matt London Asks

Dungeon Run was Hearthstone's first go at a roguelite game and was released on December 7, 2017 alongside the launch of Kobolds & Catacombs.

Minor correction: Dungeon run was an rogue-like mode. Rogue-lites have an decreasing difficulty over time (mostly through permanent upgrades) while the difficulty from rogue-likes stays constant.

    As for the questions

    1. Dungeon run, followed by Tombs of Terror and Dalaran Heist

    2. Mostly because of the difficulty. I remember actually being afraid of the final boss aswell as some normal enemies. That wasn't the case for me in the other modes, even in the heroic versions. That's also why Tombs of Terror is on my second place, but there it's purposly overdone and it doesn't have the same level of satisfaction when you know that you have to beat it eventually. The only exception is the plaquelord of Madness, god I love to fear him...

    3. yes, just yes.

  • Ezreal & Draven Midrange Deck List and Guide - Runeterra Deck Spotlight

I feel it's a bit more like 55/45. I think Irelia Azir's defensive cards aren't really enough against Ezreal Draven, it also might depend on the deck and the skill of the players involved. Some players just don't play around stuff I found out. Tri-beam also swings the match really hard if you can get it down even when it's at 2. Though of course, sometimes Irelia Azir just nut draws.

  • Ezreal & Draven Midrange Deck List and Guide - Runeterra Deck Spotlight

Well, my first note is that I don't see an actual decklist posted :) I would be interested in seeing, since I've never been terribly good with Ezreal, and in fact I don't think I've ever even leveled him up, haha.

    1. What is your favourite adventure content? Dungeon Run of course (Kobolds and Catacombs), although Dalaran Heist is a very close second

    2. Why is that content your favourite? One word: Replayability. This is what really sets it apart for me escpecially compared to BoH which has zero replay value for me

    3. Dungeon Run: Would you like to see new bosses, treasures, and cards? Yeah

Bottom line is that pretty much every previous solo content was better than the current BoH imho

  • Ezreal & Draven Midrange Deck List and Guide - Runeterra Deck Spotlight

Personally, from my experience, I have almost always beaten Irelia Azir with his list.

Although they do have lots of recall, I found it is best to time your removal spells such as culling strike on a turn when their blade dance is relatively weak. By removing their stuff before they snowball you will have a good chance against that deck. Of course, I may have been fortunate 😄 and it is definitely the hardest aggro deck to face.

I know this is out of context, but I'll still say this.

If you as Dev got the extra time to do something, then
    - Fix Wild Mode!
    - Promote your Duels Mode more!
    - Create better rewards for Arena Run!
    - Find a way to upgrade your system so it can support Tournament etc!

There's actually a ton of things to do than to worry about some adventures.
