Writing strictly as a spectator, I'm afraid LoR is not greater than hearthstone - let alone being the best card game. Better monetization model, more accessible, and having more stuff to do - That can't be denied that LoR definitely has hearthstone on the ropes on all these. But for those watching it, and for those trying it out for the first time, hearthstone is much superior.
I've been watching hearthstone tournaments all the way back to its first unofficial world champion. Looking at the game now, its almost still as clear as it was back then. Wording is largely simple, the mechanics simple, and the game as a whole has a cunning simplicity to it that any viewer able to do basic mathematics would be able to more or less know what's going on, and who's winning, etc.
LoR, however, suffers from its readability. I can never truly understand what's going on, because there's a dozen of keywords that aren't very clear to anyone who hasn't read the glossary pages. What on earth does 'deep' mean anyway, for example. I watched a few videos and came out absolutely bewildered sometimes, because there's turns, then there's spell turns, etc. I'm not necessarily always sure whos winning too, because it almost always like nothing is happening and suddenly your opponent loses half his hp.
I'm going to be watching that LoR tournament with great interest. But if I come out of there knowing nothing of what's going on without having to go to LoR's keyword glossary pages yet again, then I'm fairly certain the game has a long way to go before it can 'quietly become the best multiplayer card game'.
(can someone confirm if the keywords in LoR explain itself when you scroll past them, Im not sure)
Weird how you ostracize feelings considering your use of anecdotes on the standard meta toward an experienced Classic player.
"They" found this deck way after deck trackers, & it was inevitable that deck doctors like myself tried a more aggressive variant of midrange.
Wouldn't you rather utilize a win percentage between two or more popular shaman decks that swap out Al'Akir for Windfury, Leeroy for Sylvanas, Sylvanas for Argent Commandeer? Or even bringing up each of those cards win-rates when drawn might suffice.
Please save your gripes about Standard balance for those articles, they are a lot more popular to the player-base and ripe with discussion.
The reason the min sets haven’t worked that well so far is that they haven’t designed the expansions around mini sets, they designed all the cards and than changed how release schedule would work, which meant some archetypes were designed in a way that leave them feeling broken until all the cards come out. However it is likely that the next expansions will be designed around it and will be much smoother
They have officially said that the next expansion was specifically designed for the mini sets, so it should be a ton smoother
Given that the topic under discussion was whether the version of Aggro Shaman presented by VS was new, I thought that it would be relevant, and interesting, to point out that it's a few cards different from decks that saw tournament play at the time. I didn't reach any conclusion, other than stating (twice) that it's a matter open to interpretation - "the VS deck was kind of played seven years ago, but not entirely...here are some of the differences."
Nothing petty was intended. Perhaps my outrageous ellipsis rocked your world way out of orbit . . . good luck in coming back down to earth.
It's tricky making a riddle just hard enough. I like to err on making it a little harder because you can always give out hints. This one should be pretty easy though:
Unless You Want to See Unwellboars and Sicker Crocolisks...
Explosive Diarrhea Sheep or Constipated Beetles...
Barfus, King Puke-la,The Hurler Below and Hadranauseous...
Personally I would prefer they go back to realizing everything in one big expansion with champion expansion in between but that just my opinion.
Yeah, this was my point. Sorry if I wasn't being clear enough. I think that in the future when we would have 10 regions this will be possible or at least I'm hoping it will be. After all, they no longer need to introduce new regions with like 8 champions for it so there'd be fewer things to divide.
I misunderstood your words, my apologies. But yeah it would be nice if we didn't have wait for two set just for an archetype to be decent (Hello mono Shurima).

They have always designed sets in advance to splice into 3, so unless they decide to design 3 separate expansions exclusively, I think the issues will stay similar to the previous expansions.
No they didn't, both Targon and Shurima were designed to be released in the form of one big expansion, but they decided to split them into three sets because players found the three month gap between expansions to be too long. They did say that future expansions will be designed with the 3-set approach from its start.

Nothing in classic is going to feel new. These cards are very old now. What matters is that it was underrepresented in spite of it's performance. The general consensus was that priest, shaman and paladin were all basically unplayable in classic with bad core sets, but that isn't entirely true and shaman could be a tier 1 class which is mind blowing.
Considering the talk was shaman is trash in classic and has terrible classic set before classic mode launch. I'm inclined to disagree with you. Even if the deck did exist, card for card, the perception of its power level was never aligned with its actual strength and lead to it being under played to the point where it may as well not have existed. Now that we have data on the deck, it might actually influence the meta in a way it never did before. You are just being petty.
Your feelings vs data. There is a reason they have found this deck and it's because classic up to this point has been based on feelings instead of what actually performs the best. Next you will be telling us how Tickatus is still a problem that needs nerfed right and how control priest is too weak. Cause it's what you feel right?
I feel like people say that the next region will be better, but I feel like that's going to be hard to achieve. The way they design it is always awkward because some archetypes wouldn't get support until much later on while also giving tools to only certain regions, which could lead to some disastrous outcome if they didn't plan for it. They have always designed sets in advance to splice into 3, so unless they decide to design 3 separate expansions exclusively, I think the issues will stay similar to the previous expansions.
I think this system would be much better after they released their 10th region, where they would try to add 1 champion for each region so that they don't have to release part of a complete set and rather focusing on smaller sets focused on each of the champions. Bilgewater felt like a good expansion because it was complete. But yeah, it's probably impossible to get another expansion like that because they have to design a lot more cards compared to before. I do think it's better for the game long-term, but we'll have to wait and see for that.
i think libram paladin dropped its winrate lately mainly cause of the nerfs to penflinger. theres a minion aggro pally and theres a secret version which isnt aggro, is more a midrange type. try it out:
Yogg's Golem
Seems like a really fun deck! I can't wait to try it once I get my second Primordial Protector from the rewards track that I'm still missing.

Hearthstone Grandmasters 2021 Season 1 Continues With Week 3
One time. Chuck Norris brought eleven (11) classes to specialist. Each deck had three (3) cards. He didn't lose a game.

Valeera's Bag of Burgled Spells
I don't get people complaining about this brawl, but were fine with last week's brawl.
I was winning on turn 1 last week with the shaman deck. How is that more FUN than a RNG match up?
