Yesterday afternoon we deployed an update to the site with a new video ad provider. This should be more accessible to those on mobile devices when you want to close it. If there are any issues, we'll get them ironed out!
I think you overestimate how many people would care for mirror mode. The majority of the playerbase plays ranked because it is competitive and then you have BG. Classic, normal, duels, brawls and arena is played less because they are either niche or non-competitive.
Then you have to factor in that the majority of the player base netdecks, plays from their phone and plays while doing other things. Mirror mode would be a niche mode for deck builders but it doesn't do anything for deck builders that want to play competively.
I cannot see how it would relevant for HS. Besides you could just play with friends that likes to play meme decks and enjoy your collection that way.
You now get 2 packs every weekend for Grandmasters on YouTube. Considering we used to only get 1-2 special events like this one per expansion where we had drops, I can't say that Blizzard is stingy anymore.
I believe it was 2 opening weekend, 2 finals weekend, and then 2 total....somewhere in between for a maximum of 6 across however many weekends it is. 2 every week woulda been nice.
So far there are only two such cards here. Both don't shine like a gold and pretty old. Looking for them, but don't know where? There are where the stones and old ones.
I haven't played casuals in quite a while but when I did I remember them being played no different than ranked, by meta fanboys. I think casual mostly exists for players who don't like the pressure of climbing and enjoy the fact that it's naturally going to be easier. Again, it all comes down to winning: players just want to win. I want to win... playing cards that cannot. Cards I paid money for.
Rang in response to your concern that people will dodge matches when it isn't their deck that faces itself the solution is simple: if they do that they would automatically be matched again facing someone else's deck until they play it out and it goes back to 50-50.
I've done a lot of wracking my brain too on modes that would encourage people to play out of the meta and the best solution I've found beside Mirror Mode is to lower the % of a card that has a high winrate when drawn ever so slightly so that the overpowered crap of the game can't bail you out. This would be nice in casual mode to discourage people from stomping with decks they ought to be ranking it with.
Mirror Mode would exist like a never-ending Tavern Brawl (like one of the rare good ones that is...) where you can enter and get a chance to play something wacky and at the same time get to tour whatever wackiness other people are sporting. Ideally it could even be set up where you have a longer queue but have a 100% chance to play your own deck or if you're like me just play whatever random stuff opp's are bringing over and over. This would be a good mode for F2P players too since they get to try out all the stuff they can't afford.
This mode would be a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately the vast majority of the HS community is content to face the same 4-5 decks over and over every meta endlessly which bewilders me. Trust me the game needs Mirror Mode to cater to the portion of players that get bored of it. It should have been introduced years ago.
I don't know about the others, but this "problem" is on my mobile. So, when you added "go to the first page" button, then all this stuff moved to the right and now it's not convenient to press the button of the last page. That's how it looks:
Being on the last page this panel is also slightly behind the screen:

I just entered there and holy shit. There are pretty hateful comments with 12 upvotes and stuff like that :0
Ignorance begets hate. I wish people that live their lives sequestered to the small area in which they live life could experience what the world has to offer. It may make them appreciate the dirt floor house or McMansion in which they live...
Lvl 71 Tonight. All quest done. Nice with 20%boost and pass. I still think a month morer before i hit lvl 100. Do we have a reward track with how much xp needed from each lvl?
This is a bit of a lame topic, but I made a bunch of cards based around adages from where I live. Appart from commenting my cards, I would really love it if you shared cards based around adages from your home country/region, so that we can learn a bit from each other's cultures and expand our worldview a little bit :)
I picked three adages in Spanish and two in Catalan, since both of this languages are spoken in my home region.
Aunque la mona se vista de seda, mona se queda.

Language: Spanish
Literal translation: Even if the monkey dresses with silk, she stays a monkey.
Meaning: Your looks don't define who you are deep down.
Effect: Since the adage has a meaning of staying true to yourself even if external factors change, I thought this effect was quite appropriate for it.
A qui es burla, el dimoni li furga.
Show Spoiler
Language: Catalan
Literal translation: Those who mock will be nipped by the devil.
Meaning: Mocking someone calls bad, ironic fortune. For instance: Person A falls down. Person B laughs of them. Person B falls down too.
Effect: Since there's a keyword which is a synomym of mocking, I made the card a tech against them revolving around dealing small amounts of damage (nipping). Because the card needed to be a Demon and DH already has anti-Taunt cards (like Kayn Sunfury), I thought this was the best class.
Al que madruga, Dios le ayuda.
Show Spoiler
Language: Spanish
Literal translation: Those who get up early will be helped by God.
Meaning: Being an early bird is good. Or something like that lol
Effect: The adage has a religious theme, so I thought Paladin was the best class for it. The first minion thing is supposed to represent getting up early.
Li diu el mort al degollat: qui t'ha fer eixe forat?
Show Spoiler
Language: Catalan
Literal translation: The dead one tells the beheaded one: who made that hole into you? (referring to the hole where the head used to be lol)
Meaning: Someone makes a (usually negative) comment about someone else, but said comment also applies to them.
Effect: The adage has a very strong death theme, so I figured out Deathrattle and destroy were good fits for it. The dead one is supposed to be the minion that kills Forat, so it dies as well.
En abril, aguas mil.
Show Spoiler
Language: Spanish
Literal translation: In April, there are a thousand waters.
Meaning: It rains a lot in the month April. This one isn't very deep.
Effect: This is probably the most loosely related to the adage, but split damage screams rain to me. Since the adage is about storms and natural elements, Shaman was the most appropriate class.
I hope you enjoyed this small selection of cards and the explanations of their flavor. As I said early, I'm looking forward to see similar cards from adages in other languages :)
Yeah, even though I play both BG and ranked (so seldom any problems completing the quests) I wholeheartedly agree. The problem is that on the one hand, weekly quests cost too much time to be spending in modes that you don't enjoy, but on the other hand, simply offer too much XP to ignore.
It would be great if you could select a 'primary mode': Ranked, Casual, Battlegrounds, Arena, or Duels and got your weekly quests from a pool that at least can be completed in that mode.
With that being said, rerolling 5 wins in BG, Duels, or TB (and Arena is in there too now) means that you willingly take a risk. Certainly not the best quest if you prefer constructed, but at the same time you know that the current system is what it is. So if you are rerolling a flexible quest you could end up with one of the 2 strictly-BG quests.
League of Legends spin-off Legends of Runeterra was already a great card game when I first reviewed it last year. It borrows enough from Magic: The Gathering to be familiar, while also innovating with fantastic ideas like mana that can be banked for later turns and powerful Champion cards with unique abilities that also level up as a reward for playing to a specific strategy. But, hoo boy, has it changed a lot in the year since—and all for the better. It's gotten fantastic new game modes, hundreds of new cards with unique abilities, and a progression system that still is ridiculously generous. I just want to shout it from the rooftops: Legends of Runeterra is the best multiplayer card game. Flat out.

Seconded. I've been enjoying the listed Pirate deck, and if there's improvements to it, then I'd love to see it too.

I've been having a lot of fun with the Pirate Warrior deck. Arrr! As mentioned, this deck has been dismantling the Mage Lunacy decks.

I'm having a lot of fun with this deck. It seems especially good against the Lunacy Mages.
