I am all for expressing different opinions, but at least they should be presented in a civilized and respectful way. The fact that gender, race or sexual orientation is considered as a factor over the merits, effort and personal worth is a serious error in my opinion.
Why? Because there is nothing more sexist than choosing someone ONLY because of their gender, or there is nothing more racist than choosing someone ONLY because of their race. That’s discrimination, “positive”, but discrimination nonetheless.
We are all human beings, we must leave out trifles such as sex, race, sexual orientation and other personal characteristics that do not influence at all in, for example, a card game.
I fully understand that Blizzard wants us to believe that this game is for women too, but make no mistake, the vast majority of content creators and professional players of this game are men.
I really wish it were something more egalitarian or there was some clear way to do so, seriously, but forcing women to participate just because they are women without meeting the popularity and merit requirements that have been demanded of the other male participants... it seems to me an outrage.
I am convinced that there must be other ways to encourage and favor the participation of women and other minorities in public events of this caliber, but I honestly believe that "positive discrimination" is not the solution.
Imagine that for future editions it is required that half of the participants be men and the other half women, but that because men are a majority and are more specialized (which is a fact) they far exceed women and leave them in a bad place... is that positive? What should be done? Maybe rig the game so that women can have more opportunities than men and thus win more and balance the scale? I don’t think so.
So I am currently completing all Lab of Legends quests and it´s a lot of fun.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a little. At the start, you choose the first buff which usually will be an epic one because obviously they give the biggest value in the majority of games. Since they don´t occur as often, you have no choice but to perma spam forfeit and start again, until you get the buff you want.
Now I am wondering why Rito isn´t just letting people choose the first buff, because you end of rerolling 100x anyway, for what you need. That would save a lot of time and makes more sense, in my opinion.
Totally agree with the invitational vs skill tournament point you made. A publicity/fun/arbitrary event Blizzard organizes can have anyone it wants, whereas a best of the best contest should simply be the best players irrespective of gender, race, religion.

Ah okay thanks for the replies. The possibility of it being just a visual bug did occur to me but I'm not really keeping track of how many wildcards I have so I couldn't see whether that was the case or not.
I also was not keeping track, but I've seen plenty of comments on Reddit saying that they still got the wildcard, so I believe them. Also, it seems like it happened to pretty much everyone this week, so apparently it was a very consistent bug

Still can’t believe how Fucken Cheap this is. He clones ephemeral copy so I fight with a challenger. Then he drops it on his next turn and I get a mindsplitter block. Then he gets my mind splitter. Attacks I bust a messenger’s sigil to keep the game going for a bit. But the damn thing just has crazy fucking stats.

As you said, they stepped down voluntarily. This means if you're a fan of either Kripp or Regis, you may be pissed off. But to be frank, the only person you should be pissed off of isn't their 'replacements' but Kripp/Regis himself. They made their decision, likely without pressure from blizz, and both I believe have put out their own statements on it. It cant be favoritism, unless both selected their replacements, which is unlikely to be the case.
On another note, which is more relevant, doing so provides a bump to other streamers who would otherwise not be as well known. In any case, I think its an excellent business move for blizz to promote diversification, a rare case where good business and doing the right thing are on the same picture.
Sure fans of both might be too pissed to watch this. But other fans, perhaps more women, might be more inclined to do so. Its not a clear cut point to say this will always end badly.
I wholeheartedly support this and would like to nudge everyone to read Jia's analytic take on the topic if you already haven't. I wish Blizzard would take a more proactive approach rather than a reactive one and actively work towards creating a more inclusive environment. This is a glimpse of a change starting to happen, but they need to and have the power to do much more.

Like, I don't really care about Regis or Kripp but they are very well known and popular creators so if I was interested in seeing them in events I would now feel very confused as to why they suddenly were replaced by two women I neither know nor care about.

Put simply, this is an invitation that has no real qualifications for being invited; blizz can invite anyone it wants. Slysssa merely opined that there should be more women representation in these events, and quite frankly there's really very little excuse for blizz not to.
Artificial representation or to be more correct, 'affirmative action', is sometimes necessary because opportunities are not always necessarily dished out by merit. I do agree that while women, as with all other minorities, tend to face greater obstacles to success in this world, they are and should be expected to perform up to the standards of others. But this isn't about that. Its about blizz not using their platform to promote more* diversity.

Jarvan just screams Paladin. The effect is basically Rush with the ability to ignore Taunt with the wording of Faceless Manipulator. I thought the original Jarvan IV's stats were quite fitting so I kept them.
Runeterra's Ashe has an interesting effect (if I understand it correctly) that I can easily imagine in Hearthstone. I originally wanted to make it a Mage card, but her bow and the Rush keyword didn't fit the class very well.
Feedback - please note that I have no idea about Runeterra and will give my opinion about your ideas without regard for flavor and strictly in a HS context.

Miss Fortune has an interesting effect because it affects your own minions as well. That mostly prevents her from being put in a Pirate Warrior deck and forces you to mix archetypes with Enrage cards. Nicely done! Heimerdinger is a really cool idea as long as the Turrets can't go face. I like them both.

Teemo has an effect that I wouldn't want to see in the game, it's just way too good. Nautilus on the other hand is quite interesting and has more synergies than only the obvious Tickatus, but I'm at a loss when it comes to the wording of the text as well.

Stealth just doesn't fit into Hunter very well and Teemo's effect is not worthy of a legendary imho (Arcane Keysmith, Inconspicuous Rider). Heimerdinger looks very creative but it's also quite complicated and it feels strange that there are no 9 and 10 Mana options. The original minion is also quite weak so there won't be much profit to gain here. Maybe give that minion Stealth?

A support card for big Deathrattle archetypes that whiffs when you accidently cheat it out… I love it!

I fail to understand how artificial representation made for political reasons will change anyone's mind. If you want to be respected you need to change yourself first and foremost. This has been a huge problem in hearthstone and gaming in general. It is a shame that we as humankind haven't managed to understand that not being the same doesn't mean men, women and diverse are not equal and equally capable of accomplishing great things we as people benefit from as a whole.
At least we can see that in the last few years people are finally starting to realise how big of a problem this is. It is going to take at least a century until we people will come to terms that everyone no matter the heritage, sex or any other factor should have a chance to shoot for their own stars. The only thing that matters is respecting each other!
As a side note, I think it is a really classy first move both from Blizzard and Kripp's side to start withdrawing Kripp from constructed HS events. It has been clear for some time that Kripp is not really as interested in it as he used to be. Of course he is still the big (probably nr 1 with Kibler) HS name, but let's keep him for BG events, where he can truly shine now. Well played!
